Fall Guys, the battle royale party game in which dozens of beans try not to fall over, has proven to be the breakout success of the summer. A week after launch, publisher Devolver digital confirmed that the game had sold over 2 million copies on Steam, with some estimating it had been downloaded over 8 million times on PS4. But Fall Guys’ path to success had humble beginnings. In fact, Fall Guys’ pitch to publishers started with gifs of a cult-favorite Japanese game show named Takeshi’s Castle — and the rest is history....

No matter how old they get, Bethesda games are the games that just keep on giving. With the boon in the modding community over the last few years, the publishing company’s western-style RPGs are always given new life, and Fallout: New Vegas is no exception as fans continue to seek ways of extending play. A new fan-made mod created by a small development team over on Steam are due to release “The Frontier” today (with an official release time set to 12pm PST) which is said to be one of the biggest mods ever made for Fallout: New Vegas....

Frontier Foundry has announced its publishing partnership with Swiss-based development team Okomotive on their next title, FAR: Changing Tides, a sequel to the award-winning FAR: Lone Sails. The game was unveiled at the PC Gaming Show and sees players swap sand for the sea as they set sail in an abandoned boat to explore the inhospitable landscape. Okomotive Lead Designer and Co-Founder, Don Schmocker, said, “The reception to FAR: Lone Sails was humbling, to know that people felt the same passion as we do about that world inspired us to continue to build on it with Changing Tides....

The Pokémon franchise is about to receive a comic book made by an American company, as Pokémon: Detective Pikachu is being adapted into a graphic novel that will be released alongside the film. Pokémon: Detective Pikachu is a comic book adaptation of the upcoming movie of the same name, which is being developed by Legendary Comics. Detective Pikachu is being made by Legendary Entertainment, of which Legendary Comics is a subsidiary and has produced comics based on some of their other films, such as Pacific Rim and The Great Wall....

After a couple months of waiting patiently, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot’s time machine is finally here. There have been many questions about the time machine as of late, but all of that has finally been answered. One of the biggest complaints about the main story was that players only got to play fan favorites Gotenks and Vegito for a collective two or three fights, and neither were playable characters during the end game free roam portion....

The trailer for the long-awaited sequel to Pokémon Snap looks stunning. However, Pokémon fans should be wary not to get their hopes up too much. Pokémon held a short online event last week called Pokémon Presents. During the show, it revealed new games as well as additional features for existing titles. Plans are apparently changing dramatically for BioWare’s in-development Dragon Age sequel. Little has been shared publicly regarding Dragon Age 4, which was announced with a teaser trailer during The Game Awards 2018. Reporting following the announcement indicated that Dragon Age 4 was planned to be a live service experience with multiplayer, though. That plan has apparently changed, with Electronic Arts now approving a completely single-player direction for the project. The decision, as reported by Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier, comes as a direct result of the circumstances surrounding recent Electronic Arts and BioWare game releases....

EA has provided an update regarding its ongoing investigation into the accusations that employees have been selling FUT Icons for thousands of dollars. FIFA’s Ultimate Team is being monitored closely enough as it is while the argument surrounding whether loot boxes should be considered gambling or not rages on. What EA really didn’t need is a full-blown scandal surrounding FUT. That’s what it has as of last week after some of its employees were accused of illegally selling FUT Icons....

This winter is likely to be a season dominated by the Star Wars franchise. The iconic science fiction series is making a highly anticipated return to the big screen with Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens, and EA is tying in to the cultural phenomenon with a November release for its upcoming shooter Star Wars: Battlefront. The DICE-developed title may not have Battlefield-style destruction, but it’s certainly not lacking in the hype department....

It’s always cool when a gaming company pulls back the curtain and lets us see how our experiences are made possible. Audio company EPOS did just this recently with “The Power of Audio in Gaming.” This livestream event had several key players in the company show the science behind gaming headsets, and prove why audio is a key element and not just a cherry on top of the “main” experience....

With only a few weeks left until Bungie’s highly anticipated Destiny 2 expansion Beyond Light, the studio has continued to release even more information about it. Earlier this week saw a nearly 15 minute ViDoc about the expansion and its accompanying season as well as a cinematic launch trailer. Fans now have a better idea of how the game’s economy and progression are changing in a few weeks as well, including a full list of every item being removed by Bungie....

Gears Of War is often considered to be one of the greatest franchises in gaming history. It started out in 2006, with Marcus Fenix at the helm of a powerful squad of humans fighting against the Locust Horde. Over the years (and six games) focus has moved gradually further from Fenix, and a variety of other enemies have been introduced. With these changes has, of course, come a lot of fluctuation in critical response and opinion amongst a constantly committed fanbase....

Thanks to backwards compatibility across all Xbox consoles, the launch of the Xbox Series X is going to be jam packed with games. There aren’t that many new ones, or exclusives, but whether one is focused on single-player experiences or multiplayer ones, there’s something for everybody. Along with old games are enhanced versions for the new console, like Borderlands 3, Fortnite, and Sea of Thieves. It should also be mentioned that Watch Dogs: Legion will be available at launch but the multiplayer portion won’t be ready until December....
