Oscar nominations were announced this morning, and while there are some small victories for people who wouldn’t usually be celebrated, there is one film with a very strong fanbase that many believe was snubbed. For only the second time in ten years, no big comic book movies were nominated and fans are most notably angry that Warner Bros.’ Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) seems to have been overlooked....

It was almost a month ago when in an effort to quell the growing Battlefield 3 community outcry for updates and DLC, DICE shared an enormous list of updates, tweaks and fixes they were working on. Today, DICE can confirm that the download, which they’re dubbing the big Spring game update, will be available for PC players tomorrow. Some of the fixes came in the most recent PS3 patch and they’ll have a date shortly for Xbox 360 players....

Blizzard has announced that the Diablo Immortal closed alpha has begun in Australia, featuring new endgame content to test along with the Crusader class. The developer states that valuable insight has been gained from testing up until this point, and things are looking great for the mobile title as it chugs forwards towards a formal release. For those lucky enough who snag an invite to play the game during this closed alpha, the level cap has been raised from 45 to 55 and there are several new features to check out....

Doctor Who is one of the longest-running television series ever, starting up in 1963 and running until today, with only one gap from 1989 to 2005. It has over 800 episodes, a TV movie, and now a video game trilogy — the latest installment of which, The Edge of Reality, is coming to the Nintendo Switch. The Edge of Reality is “a reimagining” of last year’s Doctor Who game from the same developer, Maze Theory Studios....

There are many kinds of fan-made video games out there spanning genre and license. A new fan project on the horizon is the meeting of a property well versed in fan games and a genre that is entirely new to them. Thanks to the new Legendary Edition that’s remastered the original trilogy, I recently started playing Mass Effect for the first time. One of the first things I noticed, apart from the awful minimap, was that once you picked a class, that was it - you were locked in for the rest of the game. I had no idea what to pick. All I knew was not to pick soldier. It was a stressful process of picking a path for my Shepard made me remember Dragon’s Dogma, a game that absolutely nails classes....

Wizards of the Coast has been bringing some changes to Dungeons and Dragons recently. While the roleplaying game will receive some modifications to the way it portrays race, there has been completely new content for unique D&D adventures as well....

According to Forbes, Johnson is the highest-paid actor in the world for the second year in a row. We’re still making our way through Dying Light for review, but so far Techland’s first person title has shown potential. However, players who jump into the game expecting to be a fully equipped zombie killer right off the bat should think again. Dying Light wants players to evolve into the agile undead slayer as they go. EA Sports releases a new gameplay trailer for EA Sports UFC 2, which teases the highly anticipated UFC Women’s Bantamweight rematch between Ronda Rousey and Holly Holm. For the most part, EA Sports has been secretive in regards to EA Sports UFC 2. So far, the company has only offered small glimpses at the game, all of which have been light on details. That changes now with the release of a gameplay trailer, the announcement of a release date, and some new information on what changes EA Sports UFC 2 is bringing to the table....

The original Top Gun from 1986 remains memorable not just for its thrilling depiction of aerial combat and its effective propaganda for the American armed forces. It’s also a great soundtrack movie, filled with hits such as “Highway to the Danger Zone” by Kenny Loggins, “Take My Breath Away” by Berlin, and, of course, Jerry Lee Lewis’s “Great Balls of Fire” and the Righteous Brothers’ “You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling,” as performed by Tom Cruise and Anthony Edwards....

Just like football has Madden, soccer has FIFA World Cup, and professional basketball has NBA 2K, so too, does motorsports have games like Forza and Gran Turismo. However, motorsports hasn’t embraced the eSports revolution in the same way as other professional sports leagues....
