Don’t Starve has long been a standout model of the survival game. The title is often considered one of the best permadeath games of all time, and as such developer Klei Entertainment has earned itself a place among the most notable indie developers in the scene. Now, the studio has confirmed another project during the E3 2017 PC gaming show, which goes under the name of Griftlands. According to Klei Entertainment, Griftlands will be a science fiction-themed role-playing game, although it’s fair to say that the developer is keeping its cards close to its chest for now....

Earth Defense Force is heading West in 2021. Yes, even that weird voxel-based spin-off we saw a few weeks ago. Early 2021. Nintendo’s relationship to its 1995 cult classic Earthbound has been rocky, at best. NOA specifically has been wary of directly supporting the IP, only hinting at its existence through games like Super Smash Bros. Even though Elden Ring is a very polished title, the game didn’t ship in a state that completely satisfied its developers. The team at FromSoftware has been hard at work improving and balancing the experience, and the most recent attempt has revitalized several weapons that were victims of a coding oversight. Update 1.03 is full of quality of life improvements, a new quest line, as well as nerfs. Players can now track NPCs via new map markers, but the Mimic Tear Spirit Ash is significantly less useful....

EN World recently rolled out A ‘State of Level Up’ Address blog post on its website to give everyone an update on what’s been developing with the Level Up: Advanced 5th Edition (A5E) tabletop roleplaying game sourcebook. The status update covered previews of the sourcebook’s page layouts, skills, magic, initiative and combat, and more. The first preview is a look at the page layout the sourcebook is being developed with. The post states that the sourcebook’s graphic designer is working on the layout from the draft manuscript “to create the look and feel of the hardcover book....

Epic’s case against Apple over the whole Fortnite thing might have just received its first setback. You might have noticed that Fortnite has been removed from the iOS App Store. That’s because Epic Games, the maker of Fortnite, decided to push an update that bypassed the App Store for all of Fornite’s many microtransaction purchases, cutting Apple out of that sweet sweet 30% slice of the mobile market. Apple, naturally, didn’t like that....

The very first thing I noticed about Evergate was that it looked an awful lot like Ori & The Blind Forest. It takes place in a colorful world, it has a majestic orchestral score, and the main character is a small, ghostly white creature with a penchant for jumping over large gaps. It has the appearance of an Ori fan game, but once you get past that, this is actually a very different experience....

When the original Predator movie first hit movie screens in 1987, fans and critics alike enjoyed the fast-paced action combined with old-school slasher horror. At Sony’s PlayStation Event last June, Insomniac Games announced Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, a sequel to the franchise’s 2016 soft reboot. Although the period between the two games is only four years, the look and gameplay for Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart is obviously superior, given that it will be a PS5 exclusive game. At the moment, Insomniac still hasn’t revealed a release date for Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, but the developer provided a release window of 2021....
