Nostalgia is a bigger deal in multiple forms of media today than it has ever been in the past. Dormant movie franchises are getting long-overdue sequels, and games people adored 20 years ago or more are getting remastered. That’s why when developing their next-gen consoles, Xbox and PlayStation had to really hone in on backwards compatibility....

Minecraft Java Edition 1.16.20 released to the world yesterday, introducing the newest hostile mob to the game: the Piglin Brute. This axe-wielding mob is native to bastion remnants in the Nether and is one of the more daunting mobs you will face. Originally introduced in snapchat 20w27a back in June, Piglin Brutes made their official debut yesterday in update 1.16.20. They were initially intended to be released with the 1.16 release, but had to be pushed back as development for the mob didn’t begin until too close to the 1....

In recent years, as esports have become more and more popular, video game companies are expanding and changing their approach to keep up with the growing market landscape. Activision-Blizzard is one of the largest video game companies, with over 4,500 employees working on video game titles, gaming leagues, and even movies and TV. Now, a former executive of one of the biggest sports in the world is joining Activision-Blizzard. Former MLB Executive Tony Petitti will be joining Activision-Blizzard as a newly created position of President of Sports and Entertainment....

Fallout 4 has many interesting items for players to collect while adventuring throughout the Commonwealth and the DLC areas. In November 2019, Blizzard Entertainment announced Diablo 4. Long time fans of the dungeon crawler series likely know that the Druid is finally returning in Diablo 4 after a one-game hiatus. The Druid will be one of 5 different playable classes and 2 of which have yet to be unveiled. The Druid made its first appearance in Diablo 2 and will make its second in Diablo 4. Druids were not initially part of the Diablo 2 roster and was included as part of the Diablo 2: Lords of Destruction DLC, and many may recall that Druids are somewhat like a dual class in that they can cast damaging spells like a mage but can also use shapeshifting to fill a tank role....

This weekend, Arc System Works and Bandai Namco launched the beta for Dragon Ball FighterZ, a new fighting game set in the popular anime universe. As a beta test, the experience is only meant to give players a small sampling of the mechanics and to see if the servers can hold, but players are already finding a few fun secrets in the game. Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot took some liberties with the story of the first DLC, and many fans took issue with this. Rather than portraying the events of Battle of Gods accurately as the game had with the rest of its sagas, Beerus and Whis’ introductions were reduced to a boss battle and a couple training regimens. Though fans viewed this change as a negative one for the most part, there is one change that DLC 2 has to make, and that is to not let Whis steal Vegeta’s moment against Golden Frieza....

The original game was an enjoyable experience that garnered praise and positive reviews across the board.
