After suffering a tough loss in the recent $50,000 Call of Duty: Warzone tournament, popular streamer and content creator, Dr Disrespect, took to Twitter to share his frustrations. With many people stuck indoors due to the novel Coronavirus, Call of Duty: Warzone could not have dropped at a better time. The fast-paced, 150-player battle royale has taken over gaming, garnering over 6 million players in one day. Electronic Arts’ shenanigans have been well-documented as of late which has been met with noticeable scrutiny. The negative press attached to the developer and publisher has been on-going for a few years and 2012 has been no different - this has been showcased by, for example, the online pass requirement in Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, a game not even featuring an online multiplayer component. Then there’s the highly-publicized furor over Mass Effect 3’s ending, as well as the game’s on-disk DLC debacle....

Torchlight 3’s Spring Update will be the last from developer Echtra games. Last March, Echtra was purchased by Farmville publisher Zynga who put the developer to work making a brand new RPG with fellow Zynga studio NaturalMotion. Echtra still loved their game enough to make sure it was “in a good place” before handing it over to Perfect World to do with as they please. “As you may have heard in the news, we were acquired by Zynga back on March 2nd,” Echtra CEO Max Schaefer wrote in the recent patch notes....

Epic Games announces its plans for a new global headquarters. The developer has purchased an empty retail space in Cary, North Carolina, and intends to turn the area into an expansive campus. Epic Games is most known for Fortnite, the ever-popular battle royale shooter. The game is currently in its fifth season, which has seen the addition of God of War’s Kratos, Halo’s Master Chief, and The Mandalorian’s Din Djarin. With the season ending in a few weeks, a new Fortnite theory may reveal what Season 6 has in store....

A couple of months ago, before the video gaming community was set ablaze by the ongoing Star Wars Battlefront 2 loot box controversy, the ESRB declared that loot boxes aren’t gambling. Since then, various government entities all over the world have started investigating loot boxes, and in some cases, have made the distinction that loot boxes are in fact a form of gambling. This has led to widespread media coverage on loot boxes, and now the ESA, the entity that created the ESRB, has released a statement on the matter....

Everwild is Rare’s latest upcoming game, following Sea of Thieves, which was released in 2018. The new IP appears to follow groups of players as they cooperatively care for a tranquil environment, helping plants and animals grow and survive. It may not come as much of a surprise, but Fall Guys is officially the most successful launch in Devolver Digital history. This past Friday the game hit a peak of 114 thousand concurrent players on Steam, overwhelming the indie publisher’s servers and narrowly beating out Grand Theft Auto V for the number four spot. Devolver’s previous record was set by SCUM – another battle royale title — but Fall Guys has already doubled its peak of 68 thousand concurrent players in 2018....

The developers of Fallout 76 are prepping for the holiday, slowing things down while starting to discuss plans for 2019. In Thursday’s “Inside the Vault” blog post, Bethesda says that today’s hotfix will be the last update to Fallout 76 of 2018 but that the team is still collecting feedback and investigating as necessary. Future updates planned for 2019 continue to be in the works, including one addition that will please a certain niche of players: a new mode with zero PvP restrictions....

The post-apocalyptic setting of Far Cry: New Dawn provides some interesting weapons for players to craft.
