The strongest mages might not be able to go toe to toe with a Wizard, but within the confines of the Dragon Age universe, Thedas, they might as well be gods — conjuring up fiery infernos, waking nightmares, and some even have the ability to raise the dead....

It’s time for the slimes to take center stage once more, as Dragon Quest Tact is coming to smartphones in the West. Dragon Quest Tact was announced for Android and iOS devices earlier this year. It’s a tactical RPG starring the monsters from the Dragon Quest series, in which said monsters battle each other on turn-based grids. Dragon Quest Tact is a free-to-play smartphone game, so expect the same kind of gacha mechanics as titles like Fire Emblem Heroes....

Media Molecule studio head apologizes for the delay of the beta for Dreams, the spiritual successor to LittleBigPlanet, which will launch exclusively on the PS4. Fans of LittleBigPlanet developer Media Molecule will have their spirits slightly dampened today, as the studio has announced that the beta for their new game, Dreams, has been delayed until 2017. The first look was initially scheduled to come out this year. Dreams has been rumored for several years now, but very few actual details have been released....

In a recent interview with Eurogamer, Neil Druckmann, the creative director for The Last of Us Part II, discussed the game’s upcoming release and how he and the team at Naughty Dog handled the game’s emotional themes and gritty gameplay. Another YouTube channel has joined the illustrious tradition of online creators coming together to play Dungeons and Dragons adventures for an ongoing series. However, this show has its own twist to set it apart from similar series, like Critical Role or any other gaming channel that has delved into making their own adventures before. Hosted by Joshua “Jovenshire” Ovenshire, best known as the co-creator of Smosh Games, this specific Dungeons and Dragons series will be pre-recorded and then acted out using puppets....

Today is a very Dynasty Warriors-themed day, it seems. Out of the blue, Koei Tecmo has released a PS5 compatibility patch for the rather excellent Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends Complete Edition. Released on the PS4 back in 2013, it seems some users were experiencing issues when playing the game on PS5 via backward compatibility. Well, those issues are no more! This update is hardly a next-gen port of the game, but it does correct the issue of vibrating enemies that players were encountering....

Recently, a manga about Pokemon creator Satoshi Tajiri has been released in Japan, and an image from the manga reveals early Pokemon designs, including for ones that never made it into the video game and anime series. James Turner, who designed Buzzwole, Poipole, and Vanilite, among others, and who is the first Westerner to design Pokemon for Game Freak, has posted a picture on Twitter of a page from the manga that shows off some of the original second generation Pokemon designs....

Epic Games recently revealed that it has banned ’thousands’ of Fortnite cheaters. The developer also vowed to continue tackling the problem and said that it would employ ’every measure’ to fight back against those who cheat in its game. The Epic Games Store’s 15 Days of Free Games continues through December 27 with another free game unlocking as of 8:00 AM PT. The latest game to unlock for Epic Games Store users is the narrative adventure game Night in the Woods, which is about as close to a modern-day Pennsylvanian fable as a video game will ever get. Night in the Woods will be available for just 24 hours, up until the next game unlocks....

Epic Games has filed a trademark infringement lawsuit against Nreal with claims that the mixed-reality glasses company’s name “looks and sounds virtually identical" to its Unreal property. Nreal launched its Nreal Light mixed-reality glasses in South Korea last year and is planning to release them in the United States at some point this quarter, according to The Verge. While Epic does not have own any Augmented Reality hardware, the company has shown an interest in both AR and VR technology and, in the lawsuit, claims the two companies are competing in the same market....

2021 looks set to be an exciting year for Zelda fans. Not only will the franchise be celebrating its 35th anniversary in February, but we’re also expecting some updates on the hotly anticipated sequel to Breath of the Wild; a game that was first announced back in 2019. Who knows; we might even get our hands on it before the year is over. Also on the agenda is the potential for DLC content for the recently released Age of Calamity and classic Zelda titles that might be making their way onto the Switch over the next 12 months....

The dominance of Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout continues. Developer Mediatonic has just released some updated sales numbers for Fall Guys on PC, and the last-man-standing game has crushed yet another milestone, selling over 11 million PC copies. Ever since bursting on the scene early this year in August, Fall Guys has been one of the most talked-about and played games of the year, even as the game is only available on two platforms; PC and PS4, Eventually, Fall Guys may come to other platforms, including mobile, Xbox and Switch....

Fallout 4 is unquestionably one of the most anticipated titles of 2015. Almost immediately after Bethesda announced the game’s existence during E3 2015, mods were already being developed for the next entry in the post-apocalyptic franchise in order for ardent fans to while away the months before Fallout 4’s release. In the following weeks, tons of other gamers chose to express their love for the series as well, with a musician known as Miracle of Sound penning a song about the series called “Going Nuclear”, and one person in particular crafting a homemade Pip-Boy using a 3D printer....

The arrival of The Dark Below expansion for Destiny has brought with it new features for Bungie’s MMO/FPS hybrid. Some of them have been welcome changes, like the introduction of new story missions and gear, while others have been far from successful. Alongside the new content and systems, Bungie has upped the level cap for Destiny from 30 to 32. But much like going from level 28 to level 30 in vanilla Destiny, hitting 32 is not going to be easy....
