Last night, K-pop band BTS appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert as part of their current promotional tour for new summer bop Butter. In addition to performing Butter (for the second time ever, after this past weekend’s Billboard Music Awards, where the band took home all four of the awards for which they were nominated), the seven-member global phenomenon performed a group comedy sketch. In it, BTS’ members brought “new hand gestures” to American and other global audiences—the joke being that, other than the finger heart (popular in Korea and made globally famous by Hallyu, or the Korean wave), all of these hand gestures are incredibly well known to American audiences....

The president of Arkane Studios, Raphael Colantonio, announces that he is departing the company. The developer is best known for creating the Dishonored series of games and most recently released sci-fi reboot Prey. In a post published today, Arkane Studios president Raphael Colantonio explains that he is leaving the company that he founded in 1999. Colantonio has steered the company from the release of its first game, Arx Fatalis and through ZeniMax Media’s purchase of the company in 2010....

A technical evaluation of Dishonored 2 blasts the PC port of the game, which has worrisome framerate issues that aren’t as prevalent on console editions. It’s no secret that the PC version of Dishonored 2 has massive performance problems, and despite the fact that a new patch has somewhat improved things for those still sneaking around in Dishonored 2, the light at the end of the tunnel still seems a fair distance away....

Now, the iconic platformer is returning to smartphones with Doodle Jump 2, a brand-new adventure for iOS. A quick look at its page on the App Store reveals a game that doesn’t stray too far from its ancestor. Doodle-y graphics, a Q-Bert-styled main character, and minimalistic stages all make a return....

New details have emerged about the Doom movie reboot, and first among them is it will have a female lead. According to horror movie enthusiast site Dread Central, the new Doom movie will cast Amy Manson as its lead. Amy is a Scottish actress best known for her television roles in Once Upon A Time, Being Human, The White Princess, and Torchwood. Those are some critically acclaimed TV series, so Amy’s casting is a promising sign....

Three weeks after being banned from Twitch, Guy Beahm, who is better known as the uber-popular streamer Dr DisRespect, is finally speaking out about his suspension. Unfortunately, the reasons behind the Twitch ban, the most high-profile suspension of a streamer ever by the service, remain unknown. In his first interview since the ban, Beahm explained that he still doesn’t know why he was kicked off Twitch. “I’ve been dealing with a lot of stress and anxiety,” Beahm told TheWashington Post....

With Dragon Age 4 in the works, fans are abuzz, speculating over what exactly the game will entail in its overall plot and gameplay. While it’s hard to predict what BioWare will do beyond the game’s basic setting and some returning DA characters, there are elements of previous games that absolutely should (and hopefully will) be salvaged for the upcoming sequel. In each of the three games, BioWare handled the identity of the main character in different ways....

Toei Animation took a bit of a hiatus with Dragon Ball films (a bit too long if you ask us). 1996 was the last time a Dragon Ball title was released, and the studio ended the drought with Battle of the Gods. It tells the story of the introduction of Lord Beerus, a god of destruction. He is an anthropomorphic cat charged with keeping balance to the galaxy by destroying other universes....

Developer Afterburner Studios is finally ready to release Dreamscaper, an action roguelite title that has been in Steam Early Access for the last two years. Featuring an excellent combat system with plenty of customization and a surprisingly strong story to accompany the action, Dreamscaper looks to be one of the best indie games of 2020. Action Roguelike, Or Relationship Simulator? The game trailer shows that players will spend much of their time in combat, fighting through a dream towards a variety of bosses, but then spend time in the real world, awake and cultivating relationships....

When Kindgoms of Amalur: Reckoning released this February, reviews, like our own, were fondly receptive of the fantasy-action RPG. Reinforced by sales exceeding 1.2 million copies, the specious state of developer 38 Studios’ well-being lead to the company kickstarting pre-production of Kingdoms of Amalur 2. But we all know what happened next: One of the more disheartening downfalls in the industry’s recent memory saw 38 Studios defaulting on millions in loan dues to the state of Rhode Island, its founder, Curt Schilling, left to pick the pieces after abolishing the company and laying off his entire staff....

A recent rumor that claimed Dying Light and Resident Evil 7 would be free games featured on the Epic Games Store looks to be false as Cities: Skylines was the first game to release in this 15-day event. Epic Games has been keeping up with giving away a free game each week. Earlier this year, Epic Games gave away the new Blair Witch game in October, and more recently, Pillars of Eternity was listed for free....

Just a day after launching, the Epic Games Store looks to be facing its first controversy. With the launch of the new storefront, several games have made the decision to offer exclusive availability through the Epic Games Store. Exclusivity with Epic on its own is understandable given the store’s impressive 88%/12% revenue share. However, a controversy is brewing over both the way in which these games revealed their exclusivity and what appears to be a clamp on transparency with regards to what these exclusivity deals entail....

Popular esports tournament wiki platform Liquipedia has addressed an ongoing problem of match-fixing and suspicious betting activity conducted on the site. Taking to the Dota 2 Subreddit yesterday, the Liquipedia team explained what the issue was and how they plan to combat it. According to the Reddit post, “bad actors” took advantage of Liquipedia’s event listing system to fix illegitimate Dota 2 matches. The individuals also allegedly threatened and harassed the site’s volunteers after their suspicious behavior was addressed, causing some contributors leaving the site....

As it turned out, the character was well-received and was cemented in DC Comics and Batman comic book canon. Since then, Harley Quinn has appeared in numerous comic books, television shows, movies, and video games.
