Valve’s newly announced Steam Deck managed to impress Epic Games CEO, Tim Sweeney, who spoke highly of the new product and its key features. However, it seems that Epic itself will not follow its competitor anytime soon. Steam Deck was just revealed yesterday, but the product has already generated considerable excitement throughout the gaming community. Not only does it pack in some impressive specs for its price tag, but it’ll also let you completely wipe SteamOS and install your own operating system if so desired....

The great debate within the halls of regulators, involving gambling characteristics that are attached to in-game loot box purchases, has taken a new turn. A recent European Union report stated that loot boxes should be given some sort of a consumer protection plan, rather than a death sentence for featuring gambling related mechanics. As The EU Internal Market continues to voice its opinion on the concerning similarities between online loot boxes and casino gambling, the Consumer Protection committee has offered other ways to combat the issue....

Fall Guys has been the surprise hit this year, a game that rose to prominence so quickly that its Mediatonic’s servers couldn’t keep up with the demand. Now, the game’s first expansion is right around the corner, and fans are already getting excited for the host of new mini-games that are promised to come in Season 2. Despite all of its success, Fall Guys is not without its flaws, as there are a number of mini games that are simply not as fun as the other games in Fall Guys....

Fallout: New Vegas is one of the most beloved entries in the satirical dystopian RPG franchise. The game was developed by Obsidian Entertainment and published by Bethesda back in 2010. Players can gain access to it by speaking to the security guard through an intercom. From there, players can explore a tower settlement that comes with lodging, stores, and even a bar. 2015’s Fallout 4 has more quests, outfits, and weapons than the average game. In fact, most players will most likely never see all of the content in the game. Much like Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas, Fallout 4 is has a lot of cut content that the player might not have known about. Some of this content is easily accessible, while some is virtually unknown. Some cut content added special clothes for certain characters, while some of the cut content could have changed the story of Fallout 4....

Calling Fallout 4 a controversial entry in the series would be an understatement. Bethesda made radical changes to the Fallout franchise in this installment. A voiced protagonist, emphasis on crafting, and removal of skills made for one of the most divisive RPGs in recent memory. Due to the radical changes Fallout 4 made to storytelling, quite a few plot threads in the game have massive plot holes—inconsistencies or unexplained elements to a particular story or universe....

Perhaps one of the biggest snafus this year revolved around the Fallout 76 Collector’s Edition. In a bait and switch, owners who expected to receive their ordered canvas bag quickly discovered that it had been shipped in a far cheaper nylon material. This is also despite the fact that the canvas bag was continuously advertised and a notice of the change never occurred. Whether it was the material of the bag or the principle of the matter, this upset some of the most diehard Fallout fans....

There has been quite a bit of hate aimed at Fallout 76 but there are at least a couple of gamers who got something special out of the title. Two devoted users got married inside the game and the ceremony came complete with an officiant who was decked out in power armor. They also managed to outfit the ceremony with various Nuka Cola decorations. In the process of throwing a wedding together, Twitter user Rickforb and her spouse wanted to show off that Fallout 76 wasn’t all about fighting mutants and surviving roving gangs of killer bandits....

On ResetEra, styl_oh, a self-described fallen one-winged chicken chaser, has created a concept for a Curb Your Enthusiasm video game. “In the early parts of the game, you pick out your hideously clashing outfit of long, baggy jackets, slacks and sneakers and Cheryl tells you how bad it is, your mood goes up or down like in the Sims,” styl_oh says. Today, Ubisoft released its 2020-2021 financial year earnings report. As usual, the report paints a generally rosy picture of Ubisoft’s performance. Net bookings at up 46% compared to last financial year, with the pandemic receiving a lot of the blame for that, but also because Assassin’s Creed Valhalla did really well alongside “robust growth” from Brawlhalla, Far Cry, For Honor, and Watch Dogs. Unique player count reached an all-time high of 141 million users across PC and console thanks to all of Ubisoft’s great franchises, and it expects even more with upcoming games like Avatar, Beyond Good & Evil 2, and a new Star Wars MMO....

Since its third installment, the Far Cry series has been met with solidly positive reviews. Many players love the games, aside from one repetitive mechanic that can be observed again and again throughout the series, and notoriously in Far Cry 5, and fans are hoping Ubisoft will avoid it with the highly anticipated Far Cry 6. It’s no mystery that the format of Far Cry is comparable to Assassin’s Creed, another major Ubisoft franchise....

After an exciting week of new Destiny content and the first official look at Destiny 2, thanks to a story based CG trailer, things have once again calmed down for fans as news has all but dried up. While Bungie has recently confirmed that the PC version of Destiny 2 will use steam and that the Hunter, Titan, and Warlock classes will feature new combat abilities, it’s looking more and more like fans are going to have to wait until May 18 to get any more significant details out of the studio....

Rock star indie publisher Devolver Digital might be about to go public. That’s according to The Telegraph (via GameWorldObserver), which recently reported that bankers from Zeus Capital have evaluated the company at £1 billion ($1.4 billion) for the London Stock Exchange. Devolver Digital has yet to make an official statement about its intentions, but sources say that they plan to go public before the end of 2021. Much of that massive valuation is based on the success of Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout, which sold 8....

Of the many announcements during BlizzCon, Diablo 2: Resurrected was arguably Blizzard’s biggest announcement to come from its online-only game showcase held in February. Diablo 2: Resurrected’s presentation answered many questions from concerned players, promising the core Diablo 2 gameplay that fans enjoyed would remain intact if only improved upon. When rumors surfaced that a Diablo 2 remake was being developed last year, some Diablo fans were reasonably wary of the news....

Disintegration is a brand new title from one of the co-creators of Halo, Marcus Lehto, and a small team of just 30 other people who make up a new development studio, V1 Interactive. Lehto certainly has a respectable pedigree after helping create one of the most iconic video game franchises ever made, so many people are extremely hopeful about the projects that will come out of V1. But for a Freshman outing, Disintegration is hampered by some obvious limitations....
