Fans of the Diablo franchise have a new reason to celebrate today, as YouTuber egodbout2 has announced that on Friday, May 11, public testing will begin on his Diablo 2 remake. Engineered in StarCraft 2: The Curse of Tristram, the test build will be accessible via the Arcade version, which anyone can download for free on StarCraft 2’s website. Opening at 8pm EST, players will be able to hack, slash, and cast their way through memorable locations from Diablo 2 like the Rogue Encampment, the Cold Plains, the Crypt, the Stony Field, the Den of Evil, and the Blood Moor....

The coronavirus pandemic has made social gatherings unsafe and, as a result, forced Disney to halt the majority of its most valuable services. Ubisoft is working on a Star Wars MMO, in case you hadn’t heard. It was announced earlier this year along with news that Disney was revoking EA’s exclusive license deal to create Star Wars video games, and Ubisoft Massive had been tapped to take Star Wars into the future with an all-new open-world game. EA has been under fire lately for its decision to use micro-transactions, and a recent statement by CEO Andrew Wilson that the company doesn’t plan on bringing more titles to the Switch certainly didn’t help much. For a long time, EA was the gold standard when it came to sports games, but as it continued to expand its portfolio, the quality of its games began to suffer and it seems as if the company has lost touch with its consumers and forgot the importance of feedback during game creation....

Microsoft was making big moves last year while rolling out the Xbox Series X. During the launch of the Xbox Series X, the subscription service Xbox Game Pass Ultimate added a number of perks, and even secured a partnership with Electronic Arts that added EA Play to its subscription service for free. By adding EA Play to the Game Pass Ultimate service, Microsoft provided almost 100 EA games to its list of downloadable titles for only $14....

Although NFL fans were supposed to get their first peek of what to expect in this year’s release of Madden NFL today, it seems that they’ll be waiting for a little bit longer. Yesterday, EA Sports released a statement of solidarity with those protesting the “unjust treatment and systematic bias that is plaguing the nation and our world,” stating that the June 1st reveal of Madden NFL 21 would be postponed until another time; the decision stemming mostly from the protests that have continued to take place over the weekend following the death of African-American man, George Floyd, at the hands of a white Minneapolis police officer....

While Elden Ring is certainly a bold step forward for developer FromSoftware, it’s still a Soulsborne game in the ways that matter most. That means that the game is not only incredibly difficult at times but can also be pretty confusing, especially for new players who may start the game without even a basic understanding of its simplest mechanics. Elden Ring is slightly more generous than other Soulsborne games when it comes to teaching you about the basics (more on that in a bit), but the motto of this game is still “figure it out as you go....

It’s been revealed that Elden Ring will be one of FromSoftware’s less punishing games, emphasizing strategy and freedom of choice over skill. In an interview with Famitsu (translated by Frontline Japan), Elden Ring director Miyazaki Hidetaka talks a little bit about the difficulty of the game compared to some of FromSoftware’s more brutal titles like Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and Bloodborne. Miyazaki explains that he believes Elden Ring’s difficulty is closer to Dark Souls 3 thanks to the game’s leveling system and focus on player choice....

It’s hard to believe in the age of Fortnite and Minecraft that people still make browser games for kids, but it happened last December, when the Environmental Protection Agency added a game called Recycle City Challenge to their website, which allows kids to earn points by answering questions about the environment and recycling. It’s clear that the EPA loves to recycle, as they decided to illegally recycle the music from a Nintendo game in Recycle City Challenge, with one of the tracks in the game having been taken from Yoshi’s Island DS....

Escape from Tarkov has just recieved a brand new patch, and not only did it naturally contain a number of bug fixes, but it also added new quests for players to explore.
