James Cameron’s Titanic, originally scheduled for the lucrative 4th of July slot that summer, had suffered yet another delay. It added fuel to the growing speculation that Cameron was at the helm of a potential disaster akin to Heaven’s Gate. The cost of making the movie had swollen to such huge levels – $200 million according to some accounts, and possibly higher according to others – that the financial burden was shouldered by two of Hollywood’s biggest studios, Fox and Paramount....

Fall Guys, the gameshow inspired battle royale, is in the early days of season 2—which means there are some changes to the game. Bethesda has shared its current roadmap for Fallout 76 post-launch plans in 2019. Two infographics were released as part of the roadmap reveal. Treasure Hunter Mole Miners have invaded Fallout 76’s servers, offering players an opportunity to find piles of legendary loot throughout this weekend’s Hunt for the Treasure Hunter event. Bethesda provided details regarding the upcoming Fasnacht Day celebration and released the original soundtrack for Fallout 76’s recent Steel Dawn update. Fallout 76 scavengers will be able to find Treasure Hunter Mole Miners carrying rare loot scouring the Appalachian nuclear wasteland this weekend....

The 2021 video game release calendar has been shifting rapidly, as developers are forced to shuffle release dates due to coronavirus-related delays. Far Cry 6, one of the big games pushed back to later this year, has had its own share of trouble of pinning down a release date, but a rumor circulating right now seems to be giving fans a glimmer of hope. Unfortunately, it likely isn’t true. Those on the lookout for Far Cry 6 development updates may have seen a Microsoft Rewards sweepstakes listing for an Xbox Series X console, complete with a copy of Far Cry 6 for a lucky winner....

Destruction AllStars was originally slated to be a launch title for the PlayStation 5, but its release date was pushed back at the last minute. Instead it released this past February as part of the free PS Plus games for February 2021 (and is still free to claim for PS Plus subscribers until April), earning mixed reviews from critics. A report surfaces that suggests the other commitments of Eidos Montreal will leave the studio unable to work on the Deus Ex series for the foreseeable future. Throughout the Devil May Cry series, Dante’s enigmatic brother Vergil has served as a rival to the games’ primary protagonists, and occasionally features as an unlockable character with a unique move set....

Devolver Digital announces new horror game Carrion at its E3 2019 press conference. Carrion is one of several big horror game announcements to take place at the event, as Dying Light 2 got a new trailer and release window, and Bethesda announced a new Shinji Mikami game called Ghostwire: Tokyo. In development at Phobia Game Studio and being published by Devolver Digital, Carrion is described as a “reverse horror game.” In Carrion, players don’t play the role of the character being hunted, such as in the Outlast series or Five Nights at Freddy’s, as they play the creature that other characters should be scared of....
