Part Hunger Games, part bad early-2000s thriller, Escape Room promises an edge-of-your-seat and unsettling take on a current trend. It just never makes good. As best crystallized by a nosedive in the third act, this is a horror that cannot follow its own logic or decide how much of its own behind-the-scenes mythos to jump into. Worse still, much of the information we learn before and during the game never pays off in a meaningful way, leaving Escape Room feeling like an unsatisfying, low-stakes, made-for-TV movie....

EVO executives have suspended tournament organizer Joey “Mr. Wizard” Cuellar from all upcoming competitions after some new allegations against the man came to light. In a post by competitor Mikey early this morning, Cuellar was accused of sexual harassment when Mikey was a minor. The account given paints an uncomfortable picture, so be warned before reading any further. In addition to having the third best game launch in the UK, Fallout 4 also records the series’ best ever launch week sales, beating Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 and Rise of the Tomb Raider. One incredibly talented Fallout 4 fan creates a fresh mod for Bethesda’s post-apocalyptic RPG that adds wearable Scouters from the Dragon Ball Z universe. From gravimeters to sentient androids, some of the technology found within Dragon Ball Z would fit in perfectly with all of the other gadgets strewn across the Boston Commonwealth Wasteland in Fallout 4. Now, it seems as if the modder known as Ruddy 88 had the exact same thoughts, as the NexusMods user decided to incorporate the popular anime series’ Scouter computers into Bethesda’s open world title....

Unlike previous games in the franchise, Fallout 76 is an online multiplayer title that is always-online. But what actually happens when players lose their connection to the game’s servers? In a new interview, Bethesda answered that very question. The studio reestablished that players will not be able to play Fallout 76 offline or if they disconnect for a “considerable amount of time.” However, if players lose connection due to a glitch or another technical issue and are able to reconnect to the game within a 10-minute timeframe, “it will automatically join you with your equipment or it will be left in half of what you were doing....

The Courier is the playable character in Fallout New Vegas. Unlike most of the playable characters in the series, the Courier was not born in a vault. This means the Courier was able to explore the Mojave Wasteland and the surrounding areas before the player takes control. So, Cyberpunk 2077’s collector’s edition will be made available for PC in the United States, after all, thanks to some unrelenting fans. It had previously been announced that the PC version of the game would not be sold as a collector’s edition in the US for reasons unknown, leaving gamers quite unhappy, as there would be no V action figure, no art book, and no Visitor’s Guide to Night City - among other very cool items - for PC players since the game would only be available in digital form....

The Mario franchise has always been bustling with urban legends, from the mystery surrounding Mario and Luigi’s last name, to baffling shortcuts hidden within Mario Kart. One myth has now been uncovered, as fans have finally found Luigi’s existence within Super Mario 64. During Nintendo’s “gigaleak”, the source code of Super Mario 64 was released and Luigi’s model was sitting within the contents waiting to come alive. Modders took it upon themselves to unveil the brother that never was in Mario 64, by taking apart the development files and stitching together a fully-formed Luigi....

Ahead of its release next week, Far Cry 5 teases its Lost on Mars DLC with a short trailer. The United States Space Force has announced that the uniformed members of the newest branch of the US military will be referred to as ‘Guardians’ moving forward. Some Destiny fans have since responded about how the name is the same as the player characters in Bungie’s spacefaring shooter, making comparisons to the Light-infused protectors of humanity and this new arm of the military. With the worldwide reach of the Destiny community, many fans from within and outside of the US have begun commenting on this new designation for members of the Space Force....
