Valve’s incredibly popular DOTA 2 MOBA is getting a brand new anime-style series debuting on Netflix this month on March 25, titled DOTA: Dragon’s Blood. The series will be animated by the renowned Studio MIR, who are most well known for The Legend of Korra, and Netflix’s adaptation of Voltron: Legendary Defender, in addition to being written by Ashley Edward Miller, known for X-Men: First Class, Thor, and Black Sails. With this star-studded team coming together along with Netflix and Valve’s support, the future seems bright for this animated series....

Ever since it was teased at the Game Awards 2018, Dragon Age 4 has been incredibly quiet. This is likely due to how early in development the game has been confirmed to be and how far away DA4’s release date still is. Despite this, in a somewhat shocking move, it seems EA Play released new screenshots of the game in a next-gen video. During Koei Tecmo’s second stream during the Tokyo Game Show 2020, the company announced the next mainline entry in the Dynasty Warriors series. The Apex Legends Global Series Major 1 (ALGS) has officially been postponed due to concerns about COVID-19, also known as the coronavirus, marking yet another event that has affected by the global threat. EA has released an official statement, which states that events for both Apex Legends and the EA Sports FIFA 20 Global Series will be postponed. Earth Defense Force: Iron Rain was an unexpected wake-up call for the goofy action franchise. It received a mixed reception from fans, with some praising its darker, more western tone while others wished for the cheesy campiness that has long defined the legendary bug ‘em up to make a return. I was equally as conflicted, loving some of the additions it brought to the franchise, yet ruing the tonal inconsistency and a swarm of technical bugs (sorry) damaged a game that could have been so much more....

The Borderlands film has officially added Edgar Ramirez to its star-studded cast list, which includes names such as Jack Black, Cate Blanchett, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Kevin Hart. Although Deus Ex: Human Revolution, on the whole, is considered a success both for its cyberpunk aesthetic and extremely varied options there still exists one glaring flaw within the entire package: the boss battles. Meant to give the player a chance to put all of there knowhow and abilities into one entire experience, these boss battles ended up being a constant source of frustration, nearly “breaking” the entire game. Since the game’s launch, news has come to light that Eidos Montreal had outsourced the boss battles in Deus Ex: HR, but the developer hadn’t really said anything regarding their thoughts behind the boss battles, mainly why they were presented the way they were....

Like other online communities, Elden Ring fans have fallen in love with the concept of refacing real people onto others. Unsurprisingly, their person of choice is Hidetaka Miyazaki, director of Elden Ring and a majority of the other FromSoftware projects. E3 2020 might be canceled but The Entertainment Software Association is already starting to prepare for next year’s event. E3 2021 will take place from June 15 to June 17, 2021. Typically, the announcement of next year’s event takes place at the close of the current year’s E3. But because the ESA had to make the difficult decision to cancel E3 2020, the organization seemingly wanted to give gamers a sense that the show will continue....

ESL One Cologne and IEM Melbourne have joined the list of canceled live 2020 events in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Fans who have already purchased tickets for the IEM Melbourne 2020 event are advised to cancel their bookings and travel plans. However, their tickets will remain valid for 2021. ESL One Cologne 2020 ticket holders will also be able to use their tickets for 2021. Both events will take place in the next year around the same time as usual, with ESL One Cologne scheduled to take place July 16-18 and IEM Melbourne to be held over the August 21-22 weekend....

Treyarch has always been big on cosmetic customization options in the Call of Duty franchise, and the studio is keen to continue expanding on this with the upcoming launch of Black Ops 4. One week ago the studio confirmed that Signature Weapons would be introduced to the series, allowing gamers to complete a set of in-game challenges in order to unlock cosmetic variants of standard weapons. Each signature weapon will have multiple cosmetic rewards as challenges are completed, with the final step being a Master Craft ultimate rendition of the weapon which is sure to be a badge of pride for those who unlock them....
