The Little Mermaid is one of my favorite animated Disney movies. As a little kid, my friends and I would sometimes wander around the playground singing Disney songs, and one of the constants was “Part of Your World.” In order to sing that song to completion, I had to watch The Little Mermaid a gazillion times. To this day, it is my most-watched Disney movie. Some may not remember this, but there was a time when Disney made a string of forgettable movies....

Early footage of Valorant was shared over the weekend as content creators were able to publish gameplay from an exclusive hands-on event with Riot Games. It feels sometimes as though the more time passes, the less we know about From Software’s hugely-anticipated Elden Ring. Hopes were high last month when it was reported that the game might be showcased at an event in March, but those hopes appear to have been dashed amid a wider crackdown and investigation by Bandai Namco into the leaked information finding its way into the news. Both the initial rumor and the recent backpedal come from GamesBeat’s Jeff Grubb, an industry insider and usually reliable source, who included the initial planned March showcase in his “Summer Game Mess” timeline of industry events and announcements running into the summer....

One of the most interesting surprise new game announcements to come out of the 2011 Spike Video Game Awards in December was for Fortnite, a brand new IP from Epic Games. Stepping far away from the chainsaws and grit of Gears of War, Fortnite embraces a very colorful and cartoony art style, with gameplay which has been compared to Minecraft for its survival and crafting. Outside of some possible hints of Fortnite coming as a PC exclusive, there’s been no talk of the game from Epic since December-January and it was nowhere to be found at E3 2012....

Guilty Gear is praised for many things, particularly its unique storytelling and the incredible cast of fighters that bring the game’s exhilarating combat to life. Although recent Fallout 76 outrage has primarily centered on Bethesda’s bait-and-switch tactics in selling its Power Armor edition of the game, players in-game aren’t happy, either. One shocking report is now coming forward that homophobic players went out of their way to make life hell for others, and Bethesda has now taken action by banning them for life. The incident took place among multiple characters on a Fallout 76 server. According to one of the victims, AJ, who initially reported the incident online, a player by the name of NathanTheHicc approached AJ’s group to ask for a Disease Cure item....
