In the absence of major live events such as E3 due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, multiple online digital showcases have been running concurrently. One ongoing event is IGN’s Summer of Gaming, which has hosted showcases of games such as 3D Realms’ Ghostrunner, but one of the planned offerings for today that would focus on Bethesda’s Fallout 76 mysteriously disappeared from the schedule before anything could be shown off. The before-and-after images of IGN’s event schedule were cataloged by Twitter user CaptainShishou earlier today....

Over a million fans have signed a petition to have streamer Desmond “Etika” Amofah buried at YouTube Headquarters. The popular gamer and YouTuber went missing after uploading a worrying video titled “I’m Sorry” to the platform on June 19. The clip, which was basically a suicide note, showed Etikah apologizing to the persons he pushed away and admitting that he was suffering from mental illness. The 29-year-old was missing for six days before police found his body in the Manhattan River....

While FaZe Clan is getting ready for Call of Duty League Championships, it seems that the organization has over things on its mind as well. Earlier today, the organization welcomed its newest member to the group. This member is already moderately well-known throughout the world, but not necessarily through his gaming skills, though they may also be impressive as well. It has been awhile since FaZe Rain left the organization, and since then, FaZe Clan has been recruiting new members to join the group....

Following the PSX announcement that the Sparrow Racing League will be added to Destiny this week, Bungie releases more information on the rewards players can expect to earn. Over the weekend, Bungie representatives were present at the PSX event in California to officially announce the Sparrow Racing League for Destiny. Now, we’re beginning to hear exactly what the activity will consist of ahead of its launch later on this week....

Bungie reveals that the Spring Update it has been teasing will bring with it an increase to Destiny’s Light level, new gear and weapons, and PvE content. Destiny fans have been feeling the game’s lack of content for some time now. Despite recurring activities like Iron Banner and Trials of Osiris, live events like the Sparrow Racing League, and this week’s Crimson Days, players have been asking for meatier content. With rumors last month that Destiny’s sequel had been pushed to 2017, a roadmap of Destiny’s future has been a common request by the game’s community....

In early days of Destiny, few players gave Glimmer a second thought. It was one of a many number of currencies in the game, and one that was arguably the easiest to come by. Kill an Ultra or Major enemy, complete a quest, break down a piece of armor – it all gave players Glimmer, and it wasn’t really until they hit the 25,000 Glimmer cap that players even noticed how much they were earning....

Popular Destiny streamer Gothalion changes his Mixer streaming plans after the streaming platform is accused of racial discrimination by a former Black employee. Mixer signed Gothalion to an exclusive deal back in October 2019, scooping the streamer away from rival platform Twitch. On Twitter, Mixer streamer Gothalion said that he wouldn’t be streaming “this morning” as there are “things to handle.” The streamer typically streams from 8:30AM, Monday - Friday, playing games like Destiny 2, Sea of Thieves, and this month he has dipped his toe into Obsidian Entertainment game, Grounded....

Being the “best” in Diablo 3 is a temperamental experience. You’re always just a recent patch note, a new piece of gear, or another season away from having to overhaul your entire build. That’s part of what keeps the game fresh; you’ve got to be on your toes if you’re looking to conquer the toughest rifts. The Barbarian is something of an exception to this rule. With heavy melee strikes and a core set of skills to build around, there is far more consistency to the Barbarian than any other class....

The outbreak of the Coronavirus has left many futures uncertain. In the entertainment section, this has impacted far more than video game companies, as even Disney has taken steps to try and calm its fans and frequenters, including bringing Onward to Disney+ ahead of schedule. Disney has, for the most part, behaved responsibly in the face of the unprecedented crisis that is the COVID-19 outbreak, first and foremost with the indefinite closure of its parks, which constitute a huge amount of yearly revenue for the company....

The new Ubisoft battle royale game Hyper Scape has been available in open beta for a month now for PC players and has had a huge impact online, particularly with its partner platform Twitch. Console players have recently gained access to the game and one big question on players’ minds is whether the game will feature cross-play. Hyper Scape is the latest in an influx of free battle royale games such as Fall Guys, Fortnite and Apex Legends, but the game is set apart by its range of power-ups and the ability to allow players to vote on map adjustments while in-game....

One might think that 25 years after the release of Doom, its co-creator would presumably be done with it. That’s not the case, though, as Doom co-creator John Romero has now released a brand new unofficial mod for Doom, offering up 9 brand new blood-soaked levels for players to enjoy. The Doom mod Sigil is John Romero’s latest addition to the classic FPS, after numerous players asked for a full episode following his release of the E1M8B and E1M4B unofficial maps a few years ago....

Many secrets lie within Doom Eternal’s massive levels. When you aren’t blasting the forces of Hell to pieces, the game offers plenty of optional challenges and collectibles for players to uncover. Music disks, toys, and cheat codes are all scattered across the campaign that players can obtain. Some of these secrets also reside within the Doom Slayer’s Fortress of Doom, a hub-like zone you can explore in between most levels. Inside the fortress, players can find locked rooms that contain powerful collectibles, but there is more to this location than the game tells you....

Doom is back in a big way. The remake back in 2016 was a monster success, and the sequel this year kept the new series rolling. There are already tons of fun mods for both games, and retroactive ones for previous titles. One of the standouts is a Spaceballs mod for Doom 2 that is as funny and strange as it sounds. Fans of the series have been altering and modding Doom for years....

Dragon Age 4 is in development, with a recent magazine leak confirming that it is one of 38 PS5 games currently in the works for the next-gen console. Of course, this means that it is likely releasing on Xbox Series X as well, and given what is known of its development, will probably be a complete next-gen title. That doesn’t mean its previous iterations should be forgotten, however. Dragon Age Inquisition is the only title of the franchise to release on current-gen consoles, with Dragon Age Origins and Dragon Age 2 releasing on the generation before....

The canon of Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot follows that of the original story very closely, but there are some concessions made in order to make for a more enjoyable game. When v, Kakarot took some liberties to account for these changes, but still opted to leave the original story’s most grievous mistake untouched. The climax of the the battle against Golden Frieza has often been criticized for trivializing the entire battle, as Whis ends up turning back time to undo any mistake that Goku or Vegeta might have made....

Sneak attacking is the bread and butter of the rogue class in Dungeons & Dragons. All rogues gain the ability to exploit enemy weaknesses for a bit of extra damage at the very first level, complete with a chart that scales up damage as levels increase. There is, however, an important caveat: sneak attacks can only be performed with ranged weapons or weapons with the finesse property (in addition to the other requirements)....

The next Dungeons & Dragons storyline is gearing up for release and clues are being sent out to celebrity fans as to what this next adventure will be about. The fans are piecing together the evidence and it seems like we may be seeing a revival of a classic adventure. There are some celebrity Dungeons & Dragons fans who have received USB sticks in the shape of keys, such as Matt Mercer and Ivan Van Norman....

The Sorcerer in Dungeons & Dragons goes toe-to-toe against the Wizard in terms of flexibility. After all, while the D&D Wizard collects tome after tome of useful spells, the Sorcerer can manipulate the nature of magic itself. Moreover, it’s the Sorcerer’s Metamagic feature that transforms it into one of the most versatile classes in D&D canon. Metamagic allows Sorcerers to transform the simplest of Spells into the heaviest of bulldozers in combat....

At the end of this year’s E3 it was a somber mood all around as most of the journalists and regular attendees pondered the idea that the long running LA-based event might go elsewhere for its 2013 proceedings. There was talk of E3 being held in Vegas, New Orleans, or Chicago. All seemed like viable options, but none would be able to capture the magic/madness of being in LA during a key sports playoff week....

The studio behind EVE Online calls it the “endlessly scalable storytelling engine.” That’s according to Hilmar Veigar Pétursson, CEO of CCP Games and the project manager who oversees all things EVE. Over the last 18 years, Pétursson and the rest of the team have put together a virtual economy so complex that it rivals that of a small country, like Pétursson’s own Iceland. As well as having a fully-functional bank at one point - which was then robbed by its in-game CEO, who proceeded to illegally exchange 200 billion ISK for real money - EVE experienced its very own short squeeze last year, not too dissimilar from the bizarre scenario we recently witnessed with GameStop....
