Today’s Playstation State of Play offered up plenty of new titles to get excited about, as well as extended looks and details about games that have already been announced. Here’s a recap of everything that was shown off during PlayStation’s July 2021 State of Play. Moss: Book 2 Quill is back in Moss: Book 2 for PS VR. Moss 2 picks up right where the first game left off, taking players through the whimsical and dangerous world....

Mobile games put up impressive numbers in 2020, but no genre saw a larger growth in downloads than casino games. With a staggering 27.5% increase in downloads compared to 2019, the category reached 163 million installs last year in the US alone, according to a new report from Sensor Tower. Within the casino category, the Slots subgenre was the most popular, garnering approximately 79 million installs and rising 4.3% from 2019....

Team Go Rocket has once again invaded the otherwise peaceful world of Pokemon Go - we were all so very happy to be relaxing and catching some regional Pokemon, and now this has to happen. There are a bunch of brand new Pokemon available as Shadow forms, you can get a chance to catch a rare Ho-Oh with Earthquake (not bad for a flying type), and there are loads of different Pokemon for you to find in the wild and from Strange Eggs, in addition to plenty of Team Go Rocket Grunt fights to participate in....

Publisher Devolver Digital’s Exit the Gungeon will be making its debut on PS4 and Xbox One on November 13. The dungeon climber will also receive the free “Hello to Arms” update, releasing in tandem with the console launches, and will be available on Apple Arcade, PC, Nintendo Switch, and the aforementioned consoles. Developer of the title’s predecessor - Enter the Gungeon - Dodge Roll Games announced the title’s update and console launches on Twitter....

Fallout 4 aims to steal the game of the year title for 2015 with the return to a beloved franchise and the implementation of tons of new features. The long-awaited Bethesda sequel is loaded with content including hundreds of perks and no level cap to mark a clean end to the adventure in the wasteland. The new crafting feature is sure to keep the more creative players busy for hundreds of hours and the series’ first attempt at a romance option in the story should help make the main narrative in Fallout 4 even more engaging than usual....

There are a number of ways to play through Fallout 4. Most players will try builds around a particular weapon type to exploit the usefulness of power armor, or possibly even recreate one of their favorite characters in-game. Bethesda has now unveiled Fallout 76, bringing out Fallout 4 game director Todd Howard to introduce the game on-stage at E3 2018. Yet even after viewing Todd Howard’s well-practiced pitch and half a dozen high-quality trailers, many Fallout fans are left somewhat befuddled. Bethesda has made clear that the new title is a vast departure from past entries as an always-online game built around multiplayer interaction, but questions linger. Just how much far is Bethesda willing to change Fallout for multiplayer?...

Intelligence reports from two highly trusted Activision leakers, Call of Duty News and TheGamingRevoltuion, reveal an upcoming promotional effort shared amongst Doritos and the forthcoming 2020 Call of Duty title. This image proves prior leaks taken from the Microsoft and PSN stores, which initially coined this new franchise entry with the placeholder name The Red Room in its infancy. Now the whole world knows the next stage in the Call of Duty: Black Ops saga will be titled Cold War....

Dr Disrespect has reappeared in an interview with PC Gamer, and although he had a lot to say, he had curiously little to share about his Twitch ban. Dr Disrespect was banned from Twitch on June 26. Since then, it’s been endless speculation as to just what got the good Doctor canned. As one of the platform’s leading streamers and one that had just recently signed an exclusive deal, the sudden ban seemed to come completely out of left field....

While the phrase Dragon Age 4 was never mentioned at EA Play, the game did not go unnoticed by fans. In a short, next-gen clip of EA projects, three “work in progress” screenshots were revealed of DA4. These showcase a dark tree, a chapel covered in red lyrium, and what appeared to be a huge heart of Red Lyrium beating. However, while next to nothing has still been confirmed for the game, it’s not the first appearance of Red Lyrium....

Developer Chromatic Games has announced that its co-op tower defense and action RPG game Dungeon Defenders: Awakened now has an official release date on Steam. Dungeon Defenders: Awakened has been playable for some time in Steam’s early access program, but the full 1.0 release version will come with even more additions to the game. This will also be the third entry in the Dungeon Defenders series, bringing with it a brand new story, updated visuals, and more locations throughout Etheria for players to explore....

With such a long and successful career in tabletop–and a plethora of adventures for players to take part in–it’s unsurprising Dungeons & Dragons has gone on to have many spin-offs; from graphic novels to toys to even the ridiculously successful Critical Role series. However, perhaps one of its most memorable for kids was the highly successful American cartoon; running for two years and three seasons back in the early ’80s...

With a little over 24 hours until The Game Awards goes live on Twitch and a dozen other streaming services, it’s fair to say that the 12 world premieres have likely been solidified for the show. But, most of them are still a mystery to us, outside of a few reveals from show producer Geoff Keighley. Just this week, for example, Keighley revealed that The Game Awards would feature closer looks at the new King’s Quest from The Odd Gentleman, as well as an appearance by Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima....

With all the E3 buzz, we almost missed the biggest announcement from Piranha Bytes, the team behind the Gothic and Risen series. The developer introduced Elex 2, the sequel to old-school RPG Elex, released back in 2017. Elex 2 is a post-apocalyptic sci-fi open-world game and is a direct sequel to the first entry with the same protagonist named Jax. The character is raising his own son while trying to unite the different factions from the planet Magalan against a new alien threat....

Ten free games are coming to PlayStation’s Play at Home initiative, free to download for everybody, regardless of whether you have PS+ or PS Now. These are Abzû, Enter the Gungeon, Rez Infinite, Subnautica, The Witness, Astro Bot Rescue Mission, Moss, Thumper, and Paper Beast. You can claim all of the games mentioned completely free of charge, but that’s not all. There is also an extended trial of Funimation (or Wakanim in some regions)....

The Epic Games Store has retracted part of its free offer in a cryptic tweet, just hours before Conan Exiles and Hue were scheduled to replace the last set of weekly freebies. Hue is available for free download as planned, but Conan Exiles has been delayed, and will be sold instead of given away. This comes as a particular shock not just because the Epic Games Store seems to be doing well, but because of the nature of the announcement itself: a mere hours before the games were supposed to release, fans were informed via the official Epic Games Store Twitter account (with no further explanation whatsoever) that “Conan Exiles will not be free, but will be available for purchase on the store at a later date....

As a series, Fallout has been around since 1997 but has come a long way from its first game. Though its most recent iteration, Fallout 76, took a bit of a fumble at launch, there are still many fans who sing the franchise’s praises to this day. Set in a post-apocalyptic world, this RPG series has been published and developed by a few different companies over the years. However, despite the changes in companies, there’s one Fallout aspect that’s always remained the same—the presence of the mascot, Vault Boy....

The Nintendo Switch may seemingly be overloaded with notable software nowadays. Yet, there was a time - specifically during its launch in March of 2020, when the console had but a handful of games. Console launches are always something of a mixed bag, and it’s certainly no different for Nintendo’s hybrid console, whose initial offerings ranged from mediocre to epic, “game of the year” material. Many of these games demonstrated the fun new capabilities of this motion and touch-enabled machine, to mixed results....

In a rare showing of camaraderie in the industry, a bunch of Japanese fighting game publishers got together to hold a roundtable discussion about the past, present, and future of fighting games last night. Along with getting some insight into the development process, viewers were treated to a number of announcements that were originally planned for EVO 2020 (which was canceled). It wasn’t the most exciting stream around, but you won’t need to worry about sitting through the Q&A portion....

Last week, Capcom’s highly-anticipated remake of Resident Evil 3 finally released worldwide, bringing players back to the zombie-infested Raccoon City. Although Resident Evil 3 remake still embodies the same general plot as its original counterpart, fans who played the latest reimagining of the 1999 game would know that Capcom made tons of changes. A fair warning to readers that this article will have MAJOR SPOILERS. Immediately after its release, Resident Evil 3 received mixed reviews, mostly due to the significant changes made with how the story of Jill Valentine’s escape was told....
