Elijah Wood knows a thing or two about big movie franchises. EN World’s Russ Morrissey recently introduced EN Publishing’s next tabletop roleplaying product, an action-comedy game called Awfully Cheerful Engine (ACE!). ACE is billed as “a cinematic tabletop roleplaying game of comedic action”, and is currently scheduled to launch its Kickstarter funding campaign sometime in 2021. ACE already has a vibrantly-colored website in place as the go-to for early info on the game. Epic Games is currently embroiled in a legal battle with Apple. It all started when Epic decided to circumvent the App Store’s policies by adding a new payment method to Fortnite that would allow users to pay Epic directly, getting rid of Apple’s fees in the process. Apple took issue with this for a number of reasons, ultimately pulling Fortnite from the App Store. Now Epic Games is rallying against Apple with the #FreeFortnite Cup that mocks the tech company....

There was a moment in the recent Unreal Engine 5 tech demo that fans thought was intended to hide a load screen, but this has been refuted by one of its developers. On May 13, a livestream was held that showed off the Unreal Engine 5 running through PlayStation 5 hardware. The demo was called Lumen in the Land of Nanite and it showed off the graphical capabilities of the next generation of systems, including levels of detail that have never been seen before....

Demon Doors are optional challenges that players can attempt in the Fable franchise. These challenges can range from rather obscure to incredibly easy. Since the game’s debut late last year, Fall Guys has collaborated with several iconic video game properties, bringing skins centered around some of the industry’s biggest names to its battle royale experience. The Doom Slayer, Sonic, Chell, Gordan Freeman, and Alyx have all made the jump to the game since its release, and now, it seems a significant indie darling will be joining the roster. Fall Guys confirms the start date for season four as well as giving fans a glimpse at a major upcoming crossover. Fall Guys has been slowly revealing elements of its upcoming season for a couple of weeks. It revealed that the theme will be the future and that it will usher in seven all-new levels. Today, it dropped a full trailer for the new season which reveals the new season will begin on March 22, 2021, so only a week to wait....

No doubt about it, battle royales have been a major hit on the tail-end of the eighth console generation. Games like PUBG, Fortnite, Apex Legends, and Warzone have proven time and time again that the genre can change and evolve drastically over time. Now the next evolution in battle royale games seemingly begins with Fall Guys, though this game is drastically different compared to previous popular battle royale titles. Practically every battle royale game has been a shooter of some kind, but Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is simply not that....

The Fallout series has undergone a few significant changes over its lifespan. It’s gone from an isometric turn-based experience to a first/third-person hybrid RPG to an open-world FPS to a live-service multiplayer game. Which game is the best is hotly debated, some may even say trying to pick which one is the best is futile, but I disagree. Fallout 3 is the best Fallout game ever made. It’s not New Vegas, it’s not either of the originals, and it certainly isn’t Fallout 76....

Deathclaw Steak, anyone? A Fallout 4 battle video posted on YouTube shows 1,000 deathclaws taking on 10 Liberty Primes in an explosion-riddled scenario. The Boston Commonwealth in Fallout 4 is teeming with danger, and the top predator in that local food chain is clearly the deathclaw. Any caravans or settlers who run into a nest of deathclaws are immediately the underdog, as the ferocious chameleon-based species annihilate their prey with long claws, savage ferocity, and calculated speed....

The post apocalyptic aesthetic of the Fallout franchise is one of the series’ most iconic calling cards at this point (right up there with Nuka Cola and power armor). The nuclear wasteland isn’t a pleasant place to live and most wildlife has been destroyed and is unable to grow back. Although that premise is central to the way the Fallout 4 world works, one creative modder thought it might be fun to see how the game looked if it was overrun with wildlife, rather than barren....
