Since then, there has been a long running anime, movies, multiple games and spin-offs, and an immensely popular mobile title. That mobile title, Pokémon GO, remains the number one top grossing game in the Google Play Store. Soon, Pokémon will be returning to the big screen. In 2019, Warner Bros. will release Pokémon: Detective Pikachu....

Originally debuting back in 2019, Devotion remains one of the most notorious cases of a game being pulled entirely from sale to date, disappearing from Steam after supposedly mocking Chinese president Xi Jinping. Following its removal from the storefront, it has since returned to Taiwan, although it has not been made available worldwide. Now, the developer behind Devotion, Red Candle Games, has announced that it’s allegedly working on a brand new project that it’s excited to share more about it in the near future....

Dirt 5 looks set to let players race in a variety of locations in numerous vehicles once again. However, this installment of Dirt will be on the next-generation and with that in mind, many are hoping that the title has even better visuals as well as controls. The title of Jodie Whittaker’s swan song as the Doctor has been announced: ‘The Power of the Doctor’. Presumably it will line events up for Russell T Davies’ 60th anniversary specials, ‘Remembrance of the Doctor’, ‘Resurrection of the Doctor’, ‘The Doctor’s Master Plan’ and, of course, ‘The Doctor Invasion of Earth’. It is a story that will be many things – it will reintroduce Ace and Tegan (and potentially play merry Hell with canon as it does so), it will conclude the tenures of both the Thirteenth Doctor and Chris Chibnall, wrap up the Thasmin romance arc (our money’s on ‘It ends tragically’) and conclude whatever Dan’s arc is....

After being taken out of the action in a game of Call of Duty: Warzone, Dr Disrespect took the liberty of commentating the plays of remaining teammates Nadeshot and Cloakzy. The play-by-play analysis instantly turned into a hilarious juxtaposition between Nadeshot’s inactivity and Cloakzy’s high-action gameplay. In the high-quality broadcast, Dr Disrespect juggles his camera perspective back-and-forth between the two players. Nadeshot elects to camp a warehouse entrance while Cloakzy is outside fighting multiple opponents at once – and winning....

Although E3 2014 wasn’t as chocked full of surprises as some gamers hoped, the show still had plenty to offer for a wide variety of tastes. Granted, many of the more intriguing titles on display at this year’s event are being saved for 2015 (or even later) but we’d still call the show an overall success. EA defends the close release dates of Battlefield 1 and Titanfall 2, standing by the fact that there are fans who love each franchise and gamers who would buy both. Earlier this year, many were surprised to find out that the Battlefield 1 and Titanfall 2 release dates were just weeks apart from one another. When many suggested that the two EA-published shooters could end up ‘cannibalizing’ each other’s sales, EA said that it was not concerned since the shooter genre of the games industry is worth $4....

It has recently been revealed that EA paid popular streamer Tyler Blevins, more commonly known as “Ninja,” 1 million to play Apex Legends. The videogame industry has worked very hard to prove that parents suck at predicting the future. Not very long ago, kids were being told to lay off the games and focus on their studies, as gaming wouldn’t get them anywhere. However, it’s certainly beginning to seem that the above was the worst advice a mother or father could possibly give to a kid because, apparently, some people are out here making millions just to play games and post about them on social media....

The AAA games industry heavily relies on franchises, using established brands to launch sequels, prequels, spinoffs, etc. to built-in audiences. Major publishers put most of their money into large scale followups, making it a rare sight to see a company go all in on an untried IP. With such a heavy dependency on established in the current console cycle, some had hoped to see more original franchises going into the next generation....

While it’s over now, 2020 was a rough year for many, game developers included. Many new releases had to be pushed back due to COVID-19, and that trend is continuing into 2021 with the delay of Elite Dangerous: Odyssey. Elite Dangerous developer Frontier Developments planned to release the new expansion in early 2021 for PC and consoles. However, the studio announced in a recent statement that Odyssey will not be releasing on all platforms until later in the year....

With the mid-season update for Call of Duty: Warzone, players got tons of new content in the form of map updates, new contracts, new modes, and various guns to test out. With every new update also comes new cosmetic packs players can find in the store if they have a few extra COD points burning a hole in their pockets. While these new bundles in the store do not give players an advantage in any of their games, they do help players stand out from the rest, for better or for worse....

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout has skyrocketed in popularity since its release in August, becoming an absolute hit on Steam and the most downloaded PS Plus game of all time. After two months, many players have achieved some monumental crown wins and have completely maxed out the season’s battle pass of level 40, leaving the game feeling a bit repetitive for hardcore players. Thankfully, Mediatonic has now released season two of Fall Guys which brings a fresh battle pass, new costumes to unlock, and four new rounds....
