Following the NCAA’s policy change about athletes profiting off their name, image, and likeness, EA Sports is exploring the possibility of including student-athletes in its upcoming College Football game. Nothing has been confirmed, but the studio is watching the policy changes “very closely.” Including college athletes in video games has always been a point of contention – long ago, EA was sued for using their likeness without monetary compensation, resulting in their removal from the series....

Online matchmaking has always been a point of contention between big game developers and the gamers who love to play their games. No matchmaking system is going to work for everyone, and many favor more active players and those with extra money to spend. But a late 2019 patent by game company Electronic Arts seems to go in a different direction, one that attempts to promote good online matchmaking by using Game Quality Factors (GQF)....

Escape from Tarkov is an incredibly realistic first-person shooter. The developers wanted the player to be limited by what an actual soldier would experience – as much as possible for a game anyway. Want to know how much ammo is left in your gun’s magazine? This game doesn’t have that indicated by a number in the bottom corner of the screen; no, your character actually looks down at the magazine to see how much ammo is in it....

As with most other big-budget films, Marvel’s Eternals has a soundtrack featuring some high profile songs, alongside the film’s stunning score, which was composed by Ramin Djawadi (Game of Thrones, Westworld, Iron Man, Pacific Rim). While Disney has officially released the Djawadi-composed Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (you can listen below!), they have yet to give any information on the potential release of the accompanying bops featured in the film, including tracks from BTS and Lizzo....

When it comes to Persona 5 Strikers, one of the stops on the Phantom Thieves’ journey is the city of Sapporo. After taking in some much-needed relaxation time at the bathhouse, the thieves take to the streets to hunt for intel about Mariko Hyodo. Once again you’re on the lookout for anywhere that you can uncover dirt on Mariko, but filling your rumor bar to 100% isn’t always the easiest thing to do as some of the NPCs are easily missed....

For a game that is focused around getting people out of the house and playing with friends, Pokémon GO is doing pretty well for itself during a global pandemic in which all of its players are supposed to be staying inside. That’s due to the fact Niantic has been incredibly pro-active and has not been afraid to tweak major elements of the game. Pokémon GO is currently very playable for people playing alone, and even playing from home in many cases....

If everything goes according to plan, Horizon Forbidden West will be gracing our PlayStations sometime later this year. Four years ago, Guerrilla Games released Horizon Zero Dawn, a game that has only gotten better with age thanks to an incredibly polished PC port. Though HZD remains one of the best open-world games of all time, it’s fair to say there’s always room for improvement. There are lessons to be learned from the games that have come out after HZD, and a few of Horizon’s weaker systems could use a tune-up in the sequel....

With less than two weeks left until the launch of Fallout 4, it was only a matter of time before retail copies started leaking out into the wild. Hype is so high for Bethesda’s latest, in fact, that many are likely trying to procure early copies, rather than wait patiently for the November 10th release date. Needless to say, there are apparently some Fallout 4 copies out there, so those concerned about story spoilers should tread lightly for the next few days....

Bethesda Game Studios officially reveals the contents for Fallout 4’s latest patch update, including mod-specific fixes and other “important” changes. According to a recent blog post, game developer Bethesda has officially released Fallout 4’s 1.5.4 Update for PCs, and the studio states that the patch will be coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One next week. As is to be expected, the Fallout 4 update applies general fixes for bugs, glitches and optimization issues to the game, but it also brings about improvements for mods, as well as “important” changes related to weapon and armor racks found within the post-apocalyptic RPG’s new Contraptions expansion, which is one of the first of three pieces of DLC added to the title during the summer of 2016....

There’s no denying that Fallout 76 has had a trying year from community backlash, game breaking bugs, and a number of controversies like the canvas bag preorder bonus. Bethesda isn’t giving up on the title however, as a constant stream of updates, bug fixes, and content additions have slowly begun to improve the shaky foundation. The next major update known as Wastelanders begins the year 2 experience for Fallout 76 and if the latest trailer is any indication, fans have a lot to look forward to....

CD Projekt Red is preparing to release Cyberpunk 2077 soon, and Adidas is hoping to get in on the action with a pair of sneakers that tie into the highly-anticipated game. However, while some fans have expressed excitement over the shoes, many others are not impressed. Adidas has yet to officially announce the Cyberpunk 2077 sneakers, but a popular Instagram shoe collector and self-described “sneaker sample specialist” named solebyjc unveiled the pair on social media....

Take note, collectors and fans of Star Wars Miniatures Games, for development of the galaxy’s tabletop figures will be under new leadership. Original developer Fantasy Flight Games will be turning over the base of operations to internal games studio Atomic Mass Games. In the Star Wars miniatures games, players can war in the stars or on the battlefront. Whether it’s controlling X-Wings or commanding an army of Stormtroopers, the tactical combat series of games has managed to make fighting for the galaxy more fun....

Far Cry 6 is finally ready to show off a bit of gameplay, with an official reveal set for May 28. Originally set to release this past February, the game has been hit with pandemic-related delays and is expected to launch sometime before March 2022. Despite an original launch date of February, we’re yet to see the game in action. Only CGI teaser trailers have been released so far, making May 28 a big day for fans of the series....

Far Cry is a franchise all about iconic villains, chilling but unique atmosphere, and its overarching themes of “insanity.” At least it has been since Far Cry 3 and arguably earlier, but Far Cry 5 seemed to ignore much of the atmospheric elements of past games. The fifth entry has all the staples of a proper Far Cry game, and yet, the gameplay experience is far more stereotypical and silly compared to past Far Cry games....

Father of the Bride, the 1991 remake of the classic 1950 film of the same name, managed to further cement comedy icon Steve Martin’s mid-career onscreen status as America’s (non-Clark-Griswold) well-meaning, but neurotically insecure movie dad. Indeed, its success spawned 1995’s Father of the Bride Part II, a remake of 1951 original sequel Father’s Little Dividend, before the franchise called it a day. However, a third chapter to reunite the saga of the Banks family, Father of the Bride Part 3 (ish), is now headed for Netflix—albeit with a major catch with regard to its format....

With the game coming in July later this year, many are wondering just how faithful to the original Destroy All Humans! the remake will be. The THQ Nordic project is, after all, based on an incredibly well-loved cult-classic, with the game easily standing as one of the PlayStation 2’s funniest games. It seems players looking for some hands-on time with the re-imagining of the seminal 2005 classic could be in luck, as Destroy All Humans!...

Looking back at 2019, there were plenty of indie games that shaped a solid year of gaming. None was as talked about or as beloved as the detective RPG Disco Elysium, a game that won numerous awards for its deep story and unique play style. Now, Disco Elysium is being brought back to the spotlight. Disco Elysium: The Final Cut is an expanded version of the classic game that will include a ton of new features and content not seen in the original game....

While the Raid release date for The Divison 2 has been delayed until May, Ubisoft’s launch of the Public Test Server on PC is currently underway. A number of new elements and modifications are being tested at the moment via the PTS, including Skill Damage adjustments and overhauls to Talents and buffs but there are even more changes on the horizon. One change that has proved controversial among The Division 2 community is a bump to Dark Zone drops up to Gear Score 515....
