Update: Shortly after Microsoft announced Dragon Quest XI S during its Xbox Games Showcase pre-show, Square Enix revealed that an updated version would also be coming to PS4 and PC (Via Steam). Thanks to Goat Simulator, games with the word “simulator” in the title have become something of a joke. A few still aim to replicate the chosen job or lifestyle with pinpoint accuracy, but many just slap a silly setting or characters onto an exaggerated physics engine for the lulz. Drug Dealer Simulator is by no means a thoughtful reflection on the effects of introducing drugs into a neighborhood, but it’s more put together than its overall look suggests....

Dungeons & Dragons is filled with a plethora of classes and subclasses that players can utilize to make their characters unique, providing them with special abilities and flavor. While subclasses are exciting ways to differentiate characters, not all subclasses conventionally fit all types of characters. Though there are of course exceptions, for the most part, it’s hard to imagine certain subclasses such as Clerics of the Peace domain as evil. Luckily, for players looking to make evil-aligned characters and DMs looking to make character sheets for their villains, there are plenty of great subclasses that fit nefarious characters perfectly....

As one of the few Dungeons & Dragons players who has never run Curse of Strahd, I wasn’t really excited about Van Richten’s Guide to Ravenloft. The book’s announcement made me happy for those who do love horror, but I prefer the steampunk grit of Eberron and whimsy of Theros. I also wasn’t sure how the slow burn nature or general mystery of horror could work within the combat-oriented rules of D&D 5E....

Super Crush KO is the next title from Vertex Pop, the crew behind Graceful Explosion Machine and WE ARE DOOMED. It continues the studio’s penchant for colorful worlds and fast-paced shooting action. It also adds more melee options than the studio’s previous, more shooter-focused games. More importantly, it stars The Cutest Cat In The Universe™ (although they didn’t actually trademark that title). Vertex Pop was at E3 to demo the game, which is coming early next year to Nintendo Switch and Steam....

Shocking the gaming world earlier today, the newly-rebranded Lucasfilm Games announced it would be working with Ubisoft to develop an open-world experience set in the Star Wars universe. The reveal was a shock to many considering it’ll be one of the first games in the franchise since 2013 to not have any EA involvement, with the company’s exclusive deal with the IP officially coming to a close. However, it seems Lucasfilm Games’ decision to offer the Star Wars license to new developers won’t bar EA from developing future games within the franchise....

Thor, Norse god of thunder, is well-known across pop-culture from his lightning-slinging stint in the MCU to references across music, TV, and games. The Thor who is referenced in 2018’s God of War, however, is a very different character from the affable hero fans might know from other media. Is My Old Army Obsolete? No way! Whether you are a veteran, a new player, or only now thinking about getting into Warhammer 40k, older armies will probably always be usable. The new edition simply means that there are changes coming to the ruleset applied to each existing army, and as we have seen in the reveal stream, new units are coming as well. Changes in army rule sets are quite common and often happen midway through editions to help with balance in the competitive scene, similar to how Magic: The Gathering or Hearthstone will ban cards or provide nerfs and buffs to even out the playing field....

In the harsh post-apocalyptic wasteland of Fallout, the true colors of humanity get to shine. Heroes and villains alike get their chance to show their colors, either inspiring or horrifying others. The stances of these characters make the games of the Fallout franchise some of the best RPGs to this day. Villains in Fallout are particularly interesting, taking inspiration from past events or history to influence the wasteland in a way most would find inexcusable....

The game known as Fallout 4 has over 200 quests in it, with some quests progressing the story and others offering side stories. With so many quests found in the game, there are a few that don’t get the attention they deserve. This is either because players do not talk to the right character or because the player does not go anywhere near where the quest is located. For players who have found these quests, they are sure to be extremely memorable....

Fans on Reddit speculate at potential new features coming to Fallout 4 based on a couple of subtle hints within the screenshots for the recently announced DLC packs. Bethesda made a lot of fans very happy by finally announcing its Fallout 4 DLC plans earlier this week. While fans were treated to a brief overview of each content pack, there’s still a lot of details that people are wondering about. Fan speculation has already begun to run rampant, especially on Reddit, where some eagle-eyed users may have potentially spotted a few unannounced elements including a certain canine companion and what appears to be a power core generator within the DLC screenshots....

Fallout 76 has been steadily gaining ground with fans since its largely poorly received release, the highly anticipated Steel Dawn expansion being just the latest in a number of major free updates. The update also brought a pleasant surprise for one fan in particular, who just last month petitioned Bethesda on Reddit to add an interactable wheelchair to Fallout 76 C.A.M.Ps. Kelly Leunen initially outlined her request in a post two months ago to the Fallout 76 Reddit community....

The Wastelanders Update for Bethesda’s Fallout 76 is now available for download. The update, which is by far the largest yet to be given to Fallout 76, is available for free. Essentially serving as a complete overhaul of the existing game, the Wastelanders Update aims to fundamentally change the way players interact with this one and a half-year-old game. This is primarily achieved through the addition of the titular wastelanders, the game’s first NPCs, which allow Bethesda to add dialogue options, followers, factions, and a main storyline to Fallout 76, all staples of most Fallout games....
