2020 was a bad year for many, but not for Epic Games. The company has its best year ever and just hit 160 million users in their Epic Games PC Store who spent $700 million last year. The incredible amount of users could be attributed to weekly free game giveaways and the growing list of titles between 2019-2020. While Epic is known for Fortnite, that game was not the major contributing factor to the $700 million total, third party games on the storefront made them $265 million....

Epic Games have been responsible for some of the most popular games in recent memory ranging from Fornite to Gears of War. Not only does the company produce games but they also distribute titles through the highly successful Epic Games Store. Epic Games Store is known for giving games to players for free and it is now updating its policy. While the policy change shouldn’t impact players too much, it will add a little bit of complexity when downloading free titles....

Are you having trouble logging into Diablo 3 again? Fret not, this latest downtime - unlike the problematic launch of the game - is intentional. Blizzard posted on their official Diablo 3 forums this morning an update to let players know that the game will be unplayable for a hefty 10 hours as they run server maintenance in preparations for the patch 1.0.3. This of course, again brings up the issue of forcing players to connect online to play a game that’s largely single-player (read: DRM)....

Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture drops players into a beautiful, vacant world with no instructions and asks them to solve an enormous mystery by walking, listening, and watching. Even without any engaging mechanics, the game’s world is incredibly engrossing. It’s not uncommon for a great narrative game to make players sad. The Last of Us brought everyone to tears within the first twenty minutes and that’s just one example of heartache in gaming....

Fall Guys has already fallen victim to the clone, with a copycat mobile version becoming available less than a day removed from the original game’s release. The title went live for both the PlayStation 4 and PC on Tuesday on the back of some anticipation - we totally get why; it’s just so cute (and silly). Anyhoo, a game going by the name of Fall Gang: KnockOut has popped up in the iOS App Store and appears to be a complete mimic of Mediatonic’s August launch - the developers hardly made a secret of it....

In December, both Mediatonic and Bethesda seemed to be teasing that a skin based on Doomguy/the Doom Slayer would be included in the insanely popular platformer battle royale Fall Guys. Now, Mediatonic has essentially confirmed that it is happening and will be revealed later today. On the official Fall Guys Twitter account, an image of the announcement trailer was shared. It contains a crown, one of the game’s main forms of currency, lying on the ground in a wasteland of some sort, possibly Hell from the Doom games....

Fall Guys has revealed more details regarding its upcoming Season 3.5 update, and it sounds like a big one. Fall Guys’ popularity might have dropped off a fair bit since it launched back in August 2020, but that was to be expected. Chances are the game’s player count has settled right around where its creators expected, especially since it is still only available on two platforms for the time being. That doesn’t appear to be changing anytime soon despite what Xbox Game Pass will have you believe....

Achievements for Fallout 4’s upcoming Automatron DLC expansion appear in the game’s list of achievements on Xbox One, indicating the DLC may drop soon. Three weeks ago, Fallout 4 fans discovered leaked achievements for the upcoming Automatron expansion. That leak has now been substantiated, as the Xbox One version of the game has been updated to list the expansion’s five new achievements, which add a total of 100 Gamerscore to the game....

The bad news just keeps on coming for Bethesda Studios in regards to Fallout 76, as a Washington, DC law firm is discussing the idea of launching a class action lawsuit against the developer. At the heart of the potential filing are claims Bethesda engaged in deceptive practices in order to encourage better sales and drive up revenues, all to the detriment of their customers. The law firm of Migliaccio & Rathod LLP took to Reddit on Monday morning to announce they were looking into the situation and wanted people to contact them specifically if they had purchased the game, and then tried and failed to receive a refund....

As a franchise and series, Fallout has been around for a long time. It’s most recent iteration, Fallout 76, was definitely a divisive entry in the series, but there are tons of memorable characters found in every Fallout game. Luckily, fans and collectors can take home miniature versions of these characters thanks to Funko Inc. creating Funko Pop! Vinyl versions of the well-known characters. Each stylized figure has its own value, year of release, and status of whether it’s still being produced or not....

The Fallout series has a few differences from the real-world timeline. Obviously, there has not been a nuclear war that destroyed the world (as of yet), but some real-world events either changed or never happened in the Fallout universe. These changes can range from small sports-related events to major nations still existing into the 2000s. Players are sure to notice a few differences between the real world and the Fallout world, but there might be a few changes players did not notice....

Ubisoft reveals that the day one patch for Far Cry Primal not only included a number of fixes and general game improvements but an entirely new Expert mode as well. The Far Cry series has been fairly active in the past few years, not only giving fans experiences with mainline games like Far Cry 3 and 4, but also with imaginative and creative offshoots like Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon. Ubisoft is once again mixing up the tried and true formula by sending players way back to 10,000 BC, where vehicles and guns have yet to be invented with Far Cry Primal....

One of 2019’s most anticipated releases is Capcom’s Devil May Cry 5, which brings classic characters like Nero and the original Dante back into the fold. Picking up after the events of Devil May Cry 2, this latest entry in the franchise introduces a third playable character only known as V and while Capcom hasn’t revealed much of this mysterious figure, he appears to play completely different, relying on assists from summoned creatures rather than acrobatically fighting with swords and guns....

In the latest video for the upcoming Roman-era time-traveling video game The Forgotten City, the focus is set on The Golden Rule. No, not that Golden Rule. In The Forgotten City, The Golden Rule means something entirely different, and it’s your task to break it as many times as it takes in order to save the people living in a city without sin. The Forgotten City - Quest Preview / Walkthrough showcases ten and a half minutes of this incoming narrative-driven game by indie game developer Modern Storyteller and publisher Dear Villagers....

Disney continues to travel through the treacherous path that lies ahead of releasing movies in 2021 and it’s done so by doubling down on the release of Cruella, the live-action origin story to One Hundred and One Dalmatians’ villain Cruella de Vil, starring Emma Stone. Previously, it had been speculated that Disney could opt to forgo a theatrical release in the United States for several of its reimaginings of their classic franchises, such as Pinocchio and Peter Pan and Wendy, a move that would have in all likelihood also included Cruella....

To All the Boys: Always and Forever is a sweet, comforting reminder of so much of what made the original film special. In yet another winning performance, Lana Condor anchors the final adaptation of Jenny Han’s trilogy of YA romance novels about Lara Jean Song Covey as she comes into her own. Through Condor and in this film especially, it’s clear that while Peter Kavinsky (Noah Centineo) and romance will always be important, this is Lara Jean’s story about a young woman learning to step outside her comfort zone and follow her dreams, whatever they may be....

Greatness Awaits a bit longer, as the next State of Play this week won’t have any big PS5 announcements. This Thursday at 1:00pm Pacific, Sony will unleash a bunch of information on upcoming PS4 and PSVR games during a 40+ minute show. There will also be a few quick updates on third party and indie games that were shown during the PS5 Future of Gaming showcase. Don’t get your hopes up though, as Sony states that there will be “no big PS5 announcements” or updates on PlayStation Studios games on the PlayStation Blog....
