During Microsoft’s E3 2015 press conference today, they set aside a few minutes to showcase a few games coming out via their ID@Xbox service. The ID@Xbox service allows qualified independent game developers to self-publish digital games to the Xbox One. One of these developers, Aurora44, took to the Xbox stage to demo their upcoming action RPG, Ashen. The open-world game focuses on a wanderer “in search of a place to call home,” and features a world covered in ash....

With the Xbox Series X coming ever closer to its release date at the tail-end of this year, Microsoft is slowly but surely revealing some of the biggest features coming to the console. These include superior loading times, the ability to switch between games at the press of a button, and a new feature called “Velocity Architecture” which it recently showed off in a brand new demo. Another recently announced system that will be available on the Series X is Smart Delivery, which Microsoft confirmed will launch with a souped-up version of Gears 5 that will be available for early-adopters at launch....

Microsoft announces the cancellation of Fable Legends, along with the closure of Lionhead Studios. The company also announces the closure of Press Play Studios. The Fable 4-player co-op asymmetric multiplayer spin-off game Fable Legends has now been cancelled. First revealed in 2013, development has ceased, with Microsoft stating that the company will focus on developing games that fans find most exciting and want to play instead. Beyond that vague reasoning, no other information was given as to why the decision was made to cancel Fable Legends....

On the heels of the Sparrow Racing League event, Bungie says that Year Two of Destiny will follow an events-based model instead of delivering big expansions. With the first year of Destiny, Bungie set a precedent for DLC content by releasing The Dark Below and House of Wolves, two smaller “expansions” that would fill the gap before the release of The Taken King and the kick-off Year 2. Since The Taken King’s release, however, fans have been waiting for Bungie to announce Destiny’s next expansion, but so far it hasn’t happened....
