In a rather controversial design move, Pokémon Sword & Shield will not allow old Pokémon to be transferred into the upcoming sequel. This seems like a fundamental shift in the series, where until now over 800 distinct Pokémon could be moved around from game to game. This seems to be not only an unpopular move for the game by Nintendo, but also surprising when considering other recent announcements. The Pokémon Home cloud app and the Pokémon Bank service are designed with the idea of allowing players to keep their collection of Pokémon in a central location to be transferred between games....

Some of you might have noticed something pretty remarkable about this year’s E3 presentation. No, I’m not talking about the Elden Ring trailer or Avatar announcements, although they were both pretty great. What was remarkable about E3 2021 was the sheer volume of downright wholesome games that were showcased over the four-day digital event. Games like Soup Pot, Riders Republic, and Life is Strange are all entirely devoid of shooting, punching, kicking, or stabbing (although Soup Pot does include chopping, vegetables don’t really count as violent)....

E3 may not be happening this year, but that isn’t stopping major publishers from revealing upcoming titles in the summer. We already know of IGN’s “Summer of Gaming” and Geoff Keighley’s “The Summer Game Fest,” but we can finally add EA to that list. The company announced this morning that EA Play Live 2020 will be held on June 11, 2020, at 4 pm PST. GameSpot has unveiled some more details for what we can expect from the stream....

The executives over at Electronic Arts are probably ecstatic right now, as they have just released news that their hotly anticipated and critically successful shooter Battlefield 3 has shipped 12 million copies to retailers. At the time of the game’s launch EA had shipped ten million copies to retailers, so it’s safe to the say the title has been a financial success for the publishing giant. Of course, fans don’t just want to know about shipped numbers, they also want to know how many copies of Battlefield 3 have been sold....

At least in terms of games, Star Wars has seen kind of a roller coaster in terms of recent releases. With EA at the helm, there have simultaneously been some disappointments like 2017’s Star Wars Battlefront 2 (although that was eventually turned around), as well some great games like Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and the upcoming Squadrons. Uncertainty is underselling the feeling of fans after EA has started helming the Star Wars video game franchise, and now EA wishes to “double down” on its Disney partnership for future Star Wars games....

BioWare’s Anthem may not have been released yet but publisher EA already has big plans for the upcoming open-world game. Speaking recently, the company revealed that it would like to turn Anthem into a major game franchise, similar to Star Wars Battlefront. During the UBS Global Technology Conference 2017, EA’s chief financial officer Blake Jorgensen noted that “Less and less of our business is dependent on brand new titles.” This follows on from EA’s recent suggestion that FIFA and Madden may drop annual releases in favor of regularly updated games with live services....

It probably shouldn’t come as a surprise that one of the best (and best-selling) games of the year is still getting updated, but Elden Ring‘s recent 1.06 update is quite surprising in a lot of ways. Not only is it a fairly substantial update that kind of came out of the blue, but it includes a number of buffs, nerfs, and alterations that suddenly make certain weapons and strategies more viable than ever before....

Twitch CEO Emmett Shear recently explained why the passing of Article 13 in Europe is about to make streaming even more of a headache than it already can be. In a world in which anyone can switch on a camera and/or a microphone and share pretty much anything online, copyright law has naturally become pretty complicated. However, for those in the streaming community, particularly if you live in Europe, things might be about to get a whole lot worse....

CCP Games has launched the first Quadrant event for 2021 in EVE Online, titled Reign, which ushers in a new chapter in the player-driven history of New Eden. The new Quadrant updates feature a focus on space combat tactical supremacy by way of the new Formations mechanic, as well as bringing back the Guardian’s Gala, Abyssal Proving Grounds, and The Hunt events. The EVE Online: Reign Quadrant event arrives on the heels of the recent announcement of the sci-fi space MMO being awarded two more Guinness World Records, after the first two it won last year....

Resident Evil 3’s highly anticipated demo is available to download now and will give players a glimpse of the retelling of the desperate escape of Resident Evil veteran Jill Valentine. Now, the latest playable demo of Resident Evil 3 revealed tons of information on what to expect in the forthcoming game, such as the flow of the gameplay and the slight change in the personalities of some characters. However, apart from all those exciting new changes that the demo revealed, it also featured tons of Easter eggs that only the most eagle-eyed Resident Evil fan would be able to see....

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is the upcoming game from Rocksteady Studios, set in the same DC universe as its Batman: Arkham games. The teaser trailer shows the Squad facing down Superman himself, as he rescues and then shockingly kills a helicopter pilot. Superman has turned evil before. Sometimes, he is being control controlled, while other times the Man of Steel has let his power go to his head. In some iterations, he turns down a dark path when faced with his inability to truly save the people of Earth....

Sometimes, the best way that an actor can showcase their talents is by branching out of their comfort zone. Usually that looks something like a familiar comic actor taking a more serious, dramatic role. For instance, John Krasinski made a name for himself on The Office, but after the sitcom ended, he started to pick up lots of action roles. It’s good to see actors push their boundaries, but sometimes, it’s even better to see them push out of film and TV altogether....

Falcon and the Winter Soldier came to an end last week, and it was… okay. We didn’t get the John Walker vs Falcon shield-on-shield battle the series had teased, and while I had complained that another symmetrical battle over diametrically opposed ideologies would be boring, it’s weird that the show replaced it with absolutely nothing. Maybe I’m just like my mother - she’s never satisfied. Despite not being on board with the ending though, it actually did feel like an ending, and not just a ‘tune in next time to see what the MCU does next!...

Throughout the Fallout franchise players have been able to create just the type of character they like thanks to the freedom of creativity Bethesda has provided. An immersive character creation system, paired with a long chart of perks is what has allowed the game to become so versatile over the years and to never bore its fanbase. While many of the perks are interesting and extremely powerful, some of them are just a little bit crazy....

GTA: San Andreas has been ported for the PS Vita and we will just have to go ahead and assume that this bit of news happens to be something you’ve been waiting on for a while. As luck would have it, modders have picked up the ball Sony dropped where the handheld console is concerned and have been porting GTA games to the device. The PSP had a pretty good lifespan and the fact that the Rockstar titles were available likely contributed to its success....

Ubisoft first launched the Far Cry series back in 2004, and it was critically acclaimed for its visual fidelity and gunplay. This massive fan response and love for the game has given it a life and turned it into a series with almost seven major titles, not including the expansions. Since the beginning, the series has been one known for its hardcore, fast-paced gunplay and brutal stealth. That is why Ubisoft works hard into making each game different yet just as challenging....

In just a few days, Destiny’s first raid, Vault of Glass (along with the subsequent two raids), will be returning in the game’s Age of Triumph live event. Veteran fans are excited to jump back into the old raids for nostalgia’s sake, in addition to tackling the content at current Light levels in return for updated loot, while some newer fans will be entering the raids for the first time now that the raids will be relevant again....

After the Devil May Cry 5 reveal at E3 this year, fans of the series have been eagerly awaiting more details about the next installment. In August, it was revealed that the sequel will have a dedicated panel at PAX West 2018, which is currently taking place in Seattle until the end of this weekend. At PAX West yesterday, the game’s director, Hideaki Itsuno, and producers, Michiteru Okabe and Matthew Walker, have revealed more about the upcoming game, including details on Nero’s Devil Breaker weapons....

The following article contains spoilers for WandaVision episode 6 It had to happen eventually. WandaVision has been building narrative steam ever since its first two episodes gave viewers more than a few mysteries that would have answers down the line. The fourth episode, “We Interrupt this Program,” broke from the show’s consistent sitcom format in order to clear up what exactly had been happening outside of Westview. Following that, “On A Very Special Episode” introduced older versions of twins Billy and Tommy, revealed that Wanda is in fact in control of everything, showed Vision’s growing discomfort with everything going on, and pretty much blew everyone’s minds with a big reveal in the episode’s final minutes....

Strong and unique armor is abundant in Divinity: Original Sin 2, if you’re ready to look around and work for it. Some are carefully hidden and sprinkled across multiple Acts of the game, while some can be unlocked fairly early on for some additional protection. However, in true Larian style, not all armor is without a catch. The Artefacts of the Tyrant is one armor set that can be unlocked early on in the game, but which is practically useless until each piece has been found....
