Game publisher Electronic Arts officially reveals its dedication to developing a Star Wars Battlefront sequel that’s set for release sometime in 2017. It seems as if Electronic Arts is going to make good on its word after teasing last year it would put out future sequels for Star Wars Battlefront, for the company’s Chief Financial Officer, Blake Jorgensen, has now confirmed that the first of these will release in 2017. However, it’s important to note that the publisher’s CFO was unclear as to whether or not he meant the calendar year, or EA’s next fiscal year that just started on April 1, but it’s probably safe to assume he’s suggesting sometime after this upcoming January....

EA’s UFC 4 has been out a few weeks and has already received a number of patches and tweaks to address issues and improve the gameplay and add additional moves to the fighters. There are likely to be several more on the way that will hopefully deal with problems like an overpowered clinch mechanic or adding elbows back into the ground game. However, even without these updates, UFC 4 is one of the most complex fighting games ever developed....

Electronic Arts, the publisher of EA Sports, FIFA, Battlefield, Apex Legends, The Sims, Madden NFL, Need for Speed, Titanfall and Plants vs. Zombies, is set to acquire Glu Mobile, the developer and publisher of Design Home, Covet Fashion, Deer Hunter, Diner DASH Adventures, Disney Sorcerer’s Arena and MLB Tap Sports Baseball, for $2.1 billion. The move is expected to solidify EA’s mobile games business. “This transaction is the culmination of the tremendous work of the Glu team to deliver world-class interactive experiences for our players, while driving business momentum that has led to strong financial and operational results....

As revealed mere moments about by Microsoft and Geoff Keighley, Echo Generation is a cute little RPG for the Xbox family of consoles that channels some serious Earthbound energy. Developed by Cococucumber, a studio known for Riverbond and Planet of the Eyes, this quaint adventure sees a young boy teaming up with his kid sister to discover a supernatural mystery that is unfolding in their hometown....

Eli Roth, in addition to being a director, is also a writer, producer, and actor. It has been announced that Roth will be directing the upcoming Borderlands movie, and to those who have seen Roth’s work, this is certainly an interesting choice. Roth has previously directed seven feature films, as well as a few shorts. The small amount of knowledge about the Borderlands movie is that the lead will be Lilith, which suggests that the movie will be attempting to take on a more feminist perspective....

Overwatch 2 is shaping up to be a promising sequel with a greater focus on storytelling. Despite the undeniable excitement for the soon-to-be-released PlayStation 5, not everyone is thrilled with its all-white coloring. Back when the console was revealed, there was a very blatant demand for alternate PS5 colors, with fans throwing out suggestions for black PS5s and even ones themed around certain games. Noticing this demand, a third-party company named PlateStation 5 began offering custom-made faceplates. Since the PS5’s faceplates can be removed, these alternate plates can be attached in their place and the company has already sold out of its plates, which it hopes to have shipped in time for the console’s release....

For months, rumors have swirled that Microsoft has a secondary next-generation console waiting in the wings, which was to be a cheaper, all-digital alternative to the Xbox Series X. The rumors were confirmed overnight, when Microsoft officially announced the Xbox Series S, showing off the new console’s design and revealing some of its other features. Similarly to what happened to both the Xbox Series X and Sony’s PlayStation 5, it didn’t take long for the Internet to start making memes mocking the new console....
