With Doom Eternal a little over a week away, Bethesda has uploaded a launch trailer to get people hyped for their return to hell. Along with generally being awesome, the new teaser actually confirms the return of a rather important figure from the classic Doom games: The Icon of Sin. Teased in Doom (2016), The Icon of Sin is most famous for being a wall texture. That’s not a joke, either, as in Doom 2, the monster is basically a texture on the wall that spawns endless waves of enemies....

Intrepid YouTuber ZaziNombies creates a massive 20 pound replica of Doom’s beloved BFG 9000 weapon using over 5,000 LEGO bricks, and it’s freaking great! In the pantheon of famous game guns, there are a few that hold a special place in gamer’s hearts. For some, it’s the Needler. Others prefer, The Shark Gun or maybe even the Laptop Gun. The granddaddy of them all, however, is The BFG. While the prior iteration of Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics’ Tomb Raider reboot was originally a financial failure, sales eventually picked up and moved enough units to become the best-selling game of the Tomb Raider franchise. Square Enix is no doubt hoping to replicate this success with the game’s sequel, Rise of the Tomb Raider. Over the last few months, there has been a significant debate about loot boxes in video games and whether they constitute gambling. Several states in the USA, as well as commissions and regulators in other countries around the world, have launched investigations into the matter. Most recently, Belgium deemed loot boxes illegal and asked for them to be removed from games. The term “Loot Crate” has been tossed around negatively the past couple of years, and for good reason. Almost five years on from its hugely successful launch, Pokemon Go is still going strong. The game has been downloaded more than a billion times and has generated well in excess of $3 billion in revenue, including almost $2 billion in 2020 alone. Team games are often the hardest part of any Fall Guys match. They are chaotic and it’s very hard to communicate with your team if you aren’t playing the new squads mode. As if the wait for Bethesda’s newest post-apocalyptic RPG wasn’t maddening enough already, gamers can now see the full list of achievements for Fallout 4 online. The full list of Fallout 4 achievements or trophies, depending on your gaming loyalty, is available now and includes some hints regarding both the story of the Boston wasteland as well as some previously undisclosed features in-game. Given that Bethesda recently confirmed that Fallout 4 had officially gone gold, it makes sense that a list of finalized achievements would not make its way online....

Fallout 76 makes some major changes in order to account for the shift to online multiplayer. For starters, the game will not feature NPCs (at least, not in the traditional sense), and all of the human characters players encounter will be player-controlled. That’s not all that will feel different when players fire up the game in November, as the VATS targeting mechanic has been changed, too. VATS, or the Vault-Tec Assisted Targeting System to give it its full title, is a gameplay mechanic that allows players to slow down time in order to target a specific area of an enemy’s body....

Fallout 76 got off to a rocky start, mainly due to making bold choices like making a game in an RPG series with no NPCs. However, Bethesda is hoping to fix many of these problems with the Wastelanders update, a massive addition to Fallout 76 that adds new quests, storylines, and most importantly, people. However, this massive undertaking has taken a toll on Bethesda’s budget. Wastelanders includes new factions, including the new Settlers that have taken over Spruce Knob Campground and turned it into the city of Foundation and the Raiders that have established themselves in The Crater, a crashed space station....

Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War has reached its midseason update. With it, several maps are coming to the game, a new game mode, and even a sword. We’ve also learned that a fan-favorite map is making its return, nine years after it first appeared. That’s right, Express, the “subway” map, is coming to Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War. Over a year after gaining the screen rights to the Fantastic Four, Marvel Studios has provided a significant update on the superhero team’s introduction to the MCU. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige announced the company is developing a Fantastic Four film that will be helmed by Spider-Man: Homecoming director Jon Watts. Marvel Studios procured the screen rights to the Fantastic Four from Fox after Disney’s acquisition of 21 Century Fox’s entertainment assets in 2019....

Disney’s live-action remake of Mulan was once slated to be out by now, but thanks to the coronavirus pandemic, it ended up being one of the many major movies that have been delayed. There is some good news, though, because Disney has announced that it won’t be too much longer before the movie, hopefully, makes it to theaters.
