Although most gamers agree that the original Mirror’s Edge wasn’t a perfect game, the community has been eagerly awaiting a sequel for years anyway. The follow up was teased at E3 2014, but this year gamers got a much closer look look at Mirror’s Edge Catalyst. It’s hard to share the stage with games as big as Mass Effect and Star Wars Battlefront, but Mirror’s Edge holds its own. Rumors about Mirror’s Edge Catalyst were all over the place leading up to E3 2015....

By now most gamers are plenty familiar with the launch troubles of Battlefield 4. After a disappointing beta test, many suspected the game might not be ready for its full debut last October — that the game might be more “broken” than the average multiplayer-focused release - but developer DICE and publisher EA released the game regardless, and to gamers’ dismay Battlefield 4 was just as unfinished as many feared it was....

EE is about to become the mobile network of choice in the UK as it has just launched an add-on featuring a great deal for Game Pass. Xbox has been doing its utmost to make Game Pass Ultimate the best deal in gaming for the past couple of years but has really upped its game since the launch of the Series X|S. It’s that time again for Epic Games Store to release the new games and this week’s selection is impressive. First up is the hit digital hacker game Watch Dogs and the second is a lesser-known but equally as interesting The Stanley Parable. Both games will be available on the morning of March 19th and free to download through March 26th. As many already know, Epic Games Store is releasing at least one major title per week for the entire month of March....

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was a 2016 film by Zack Snyder. It was intended that Snyder also direct its sequel, Justice League (2017), but as a result of a family tragedy, Snyder left the project to be with his wife and children. Joss Whedon was hired to finish Justice League, but unfortunately the film was a failure. It made about $657 million in the box office, which is certainly not a small amount, but it needed $750 million to break even....

Journey to the Savage Planet, the first game developed by Typhoon Studios, released almost exactly a year ago on January 28, 2020 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and the Epic Game Store. The charming action-platformer joined Xbox Game Pass’s eclectic library in April before making its way to the Nintendo Switch in May. This week, Savage Planet’s 1-year exclusivity on the EGS is ending and the game will be available on Steam for the first time....

Microsoft has announced the line-up of free titles for Games with Gold next month and it’s a decently solid selection of games. Fable Anniversary is the clear standout here, though the other games are sure to have fans excited. It’s a 50/50 split with racing and RPG getting represented, but even the most stringent of players should find some fun. Project Cars 2 is the newest title on offer, though even it is a few years old....

The Institute acts as the boogeyman of Fallout 4, being responsible for kidnapping the player’s son and performing random kidnappings around the Commonwealth. A few of the major locations in the game are paranoid about synths, making any player curious about the history of the organization. This paranoia can range from killing random wastelanders out of fear to never wanting to leave the town. Players are able to join The Institute, which will help them look into the organization’s past....

The Endurance special stat in Fallout 4 has many uses — mainly boosting your HP, radiation resistance, and damage resistance. It’s easy to overlook the endurance stat initially while you’re creating your character, since it doesn’t focus on any particular weapon; however, the damage resistance bonuses that you can gain from this perk tree are very powerful. If you want to survive in the Commonwealth, then you’ll probably want to learn about the different perks that you can unlock with the Endurance special stat....

One incredibly skilled Fallout 4 player goes on to beat the Survival Mode for Bethesda Softworks’ post-apocalyptic RPG without dying once during the playthrough. As many fans of Fallout 4 may be aware, the Survival Mode for Bethesda’s open world title is extremely taxing, as it forces gamers to fight through the Wasteland against more lethal enemies, to explore without the use of fast travel, to stay fed, hydrated, and rested, to save only after sleeping, and so much more....

A popular Bethesda game fan theory has been put to rest. The developer’s marketing executive, Pete Hines, revealed that the Fallout series and Elder Scrolls franchise do not exist in the same universe, despite many gamers making that claim. The revelation was made during an interview between Hines and GameSpot, where the Bethesda executive discussed his confusion over the fan theory. As Hines puts it, Fallout 1 and 2 were created by another developer, Interplay, before the franchise was acquired by Bethesda....

Steam has undergone a lot of changes over the years, but one thing that has remained mostly the same has been a game’s store page. In the upper right corner, you have a banner with the game’s name, and below that the game’s description, release date, aggregate review score, and the names of the developer and publisher. The aggregate review score and the developer names use the exact same font, and they’re placed almost right next to each other....

As players soon experience in Divinity: Original Sin 2, Larian Studios fleshes out Original Sin’s world of Rivellon with creative use of self-contained sidequests with bursts of the grandiose scale of the main plot. For instance, in Act 2, sidequests eventually point players towards the Blackpits mines in the Reaper’s Coast. What first seemed like a Magister mining operation blew up to be the excavation of an Ancient Temple. Players who get to the center of the underground alien complex will encounter the Eternal Aetera, a being that seems to be just as old as the gods....

The developers at Ubisoft Massive implement a client patch for its action-RPG Tom Clancy’s The Division that provides a fix to the game’s pulse ability bug. As declared by Ubisoft Massive yesterday with a State of the Game post for Tom Clancy’s The Division, the studio said that a patch was in the works to fix the myriad problems fans had been encountering ever since the open world title received the contents of Update 1....

Roger Delgado looms large over the character of the Master, being simultaneously influential and something of an anomaly: Delgado played the role with a debonair front, but since his death, the character has been less urbane and more desperate, manic and violent. In fact the actor who’s come closest to Delgado’s approach is Eric Roberts, who plays an American version of Delgado’s Master until his performance goes big towards the end of 1996’ ‘The TV Movie’....

This Doom Patrol review contains spoilers. Doom Patrol Episode 9 The underground is vast, and the story dark and poignant in “Jane Patrol,” the ninth episode of Doom Patrol. While still remaining a super hero show, this installment is a mind screw of a psychological drama that addresses a character’s inner demons, and her unwillingness to (literally) let someone else in. And it all feels very relatable. Following a disturbing scene between young Kay Challis and her sexually abusive father, the episode picks up with the alter Karen banished to the Underground, the unconscious world of Jane’s core personality....

The Dragon Ball series truly is one of the most popular anime series of all time. It certainly wouldn’t be a stretch to say that the show single-handedly invoked a sense of love for shōnen anime in an entire generation. Obviously, it goes without saying that Naruto, One Piece, Bleach, and a large number of other shōnen anime are great in their own right — in fact, one might argue that their quality is way better — but they definitely owe their success to the massive popularity of Dragon Ball Z....
