Every Tuesday, Bungie resets the weekly activities so players can once again try their hand at acquiring new loot and increasing their light level with the new Raid challenge modes. Or that’s normally what players would be doing, if one piece of the weekly reset weren’t broken....

Each month Sony releases new free games for PlayStation Plus subscribers, and most months those games rapidly grow in popularity. Capitalizing on that initial success is important to a game’s longevity, potentially securing a game studio’s future for years. It should be no surprise then that February 2021 PS+ release Destruction AllStars is already moving to keep players logged in and playing beyond its free availability window. Destruction AllStars’ content roadmap is said to be plump with upcoming content plans....

Progress on the hotly anticipated Detective Pikachu movie is ramping up. It was just announced that the live-action movie has now finalized its cast with Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool) playing the lead and that production will begin early next year. That’s not all, though. Universal Pictures, the group distributing the movie outside of Japan, has now confirmed the Detective Pikachu release date. The film will be released on May 10, 2019 which is during the Mother’s Day weekend and it is also a week after the next Avengers movie is released in theatres....

One of the most anticipated game launches of March 2021 arrives Thursday from indie publisher Devolver Digital. That game is Loop Hero, an excitingly unique mix of roguelite and RPG mechanics, put together to make a challenging strategy experience. Loop Hero will officially unlock via Steam at noon ET. In Blizzard’s latest quarterly update on Diablo 4, the game’s director, Luis Barriga, and the dev team shared new details about the forthcoming title. Lately, the magical company that is Disney has been recreating a lot of its beloved animated films via live-action. Ubisoft has confirmed that The Division 2 will see additional content launches in 2021. Title Update 12 was slated to be the last major update for the game, but due to its continued popularity, the team has decided to continue working on updates. “Today, we are thrilled to confirm that there will be additional content for The Division 2 released later this year,” reads the announcement from Ubisoft. “It is your continuous passion and support which enables us to continue to build upon The Division 2 experience, and we cannot thank you enough for that....

Today, Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment officially brought about the full launch of Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 following a nearly week-long early access period. While there’s no doubt that myriad Agents are currently exploring the ruined streets and bombed out buildings of the game’s post-pandemic Washington D.C., as is to be expected with a live service such as this, some are reporting specific issues with the gameplay. One of the more prominent problems players have reported so far is a bug making certain skills unusable....

This article contains very mild Don’t Worry Darling spoilers. Harry Styles is not terrible in Olivia Wilde’s Don’t Worry Darling. Which is not to say he is particularly good. Like a fancy ‘50s dinner party where the meal is neither fish nor fowl, the performance is adequate; a rough-around-the-edges first attempt at being a leading man that doesn’t technically distract from the movie. It doesn’t help it either. Despite being a blindingly charismatic presence behind a mic, onscreen Styles struggles to convince the audience that he’s an everyman, never mind the Beelzebub on Pugh’s shoulder....

The Dragon Ball franchise is known for its memorable villains. Many of the characters who started off as villains ultimately became heroes, like Piccolo, Tien, and Vegeta. Someone like Frieza has proven to be a financial success, resulting in the character’s return over the years. People often cite Buu as one of the series’ first real missteps, which leaves Cell as the forgotten middle child. Fans felt that he couldn’t measure up to the superior Frieza, and even the creators disliked him....

The hype just keeps on building for Arc System Works’ Dragon Ball FighterZ, and a new teaser trailer for the game gives fans a sneak peak at what they can expect from the title’s single-player mode. The brief but exciting tease gives us a look at ‘Forbidden Story,’ which features all of the game’s cast as well as a brand-new original character, whose creation was supervised by Akira Toriyama himself....

Dragon Ball Z Kakarot’s Tao Pai Pai pillar vehicle finally has a release window. According to leaks from this month’s V-Jump magazine, the vehicle should come out sometime this June. Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot reporter Dragon Ball Hype released early scans of the V-Jump issue onto Twitter, which were picked up by YouTuber Dm Gaming. While the issue doesn’t present any Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot information itself, the preview it has of next month’s issue does, and it specifically references Tao Pai Pai’s pillar....

In January, Bandai Namco announced that a new Dragon Ball Z action RPG, known at the time as Project Z, was in the works. Following this announcement, a trailer was shown at E3 2019, which confirmed the game’s title as Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot and gave fans a closer look at the forthcoming DBZ RPG. While this Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot trailer may have led some to believe that Goku would be the game’s only playable character, that is, in fact, not the case....

Navigating through the sandworm-infested plains of Arrakis and eradicating the overbearing powers that dwell there can now be done atop a table. Portal Games has announced Dune: House Secrets, a new board game, which uses the same co-op system as the publisher’s iconic Detective series. House Secrets will allow up to four players to become a group of rebels on Arrakis, who must undertake a series of treacherous missions within this “story driven” board game....

The last film I went to see in the pictures before the pandemic was Birds of Prey. During the movie, I stood up, threw my popcorn at the screen, stole the nachos off the person a few rows in front, shouted sexually explicit things about Margot Robbie, and screamed some racial epithets. Not really, but can you imagine if I did? I’d have been thrown out on the spot. If I did the same thing at E3 though, it seems like I’d have been fine....

Digital distribution seems to be the game purchasing method of the future. As of now, if players want to be able to get new titles without having to worry about stores selling out, they can simply download their title of choice via either Valve’s Steam service or EA’s Origin. The Epic Games Store has recently reported that is has reached an impressive milestone of concurrent users. The majority of this success can be attributed to its recent free game giveaways featuring some major-name titles. Back when the Epic Games Store launched as a competitor to Steam, it made frequent use of free game giveaways to help entice users to try the platform. Whether it was an indie darling like Super Meat Boy or something more mainstream like the Arkham trilogy of Batman games, there was plenty to see....

Escape from Tarkov has been extremely popular since its release, with players from all over the world logging in, even while its servers struggled to withstand its popularity. However, some of those players may soon be getting booted from games. Escape from Tarkov developer Battlestate Games released a tweet explaining that players who have a ping of 250 or above will be booted from the games that they’re in. Players will have a few seconds to bring their ping down before the kick takes place, so brief hiccups in a network connection shouldn’t be too debilitating to players’ experiences....
