Pleasantly, but from out of nowhere, DOOM Eternal has congratulated Final Fantasy 7 Remake’s launch with an art piece that pays tribute to one of the game’s most iconic visuals in a clever and satisfying way. Fans of Final Fantasy 7 will pretty much immediately recognize what the DOOM Eternal team was going for. But for those who can’t quite put their fingers on it: It’s the image of Cloud standing before Shinra Headquarters with his hand gripping the hilt of his Buster Sword....

Dr. Disrespect posted a mysterious video on his Twitter account; yet another chapter in his Twitch ban saga. The video shows Dr. Disrespect’s silhouette in a rainy alley as the camera zooms in on him. The video features a song with the lyrics, “It’s out of my hands, but I’m still in control. It’s out of my hands. You can never take away the power of my soul.” The tweet is very ominous with all the rampant speculation surrounding the events of the doctor’s ban....

Twitch streamer Guy “Dr Disrespect” Beahm announced on Twitter that he would be giving away all the money he receives from donations to charities for the rest of the month. He will be donating this money received from June 4 to June 30. While Dr Disrespect is known for joking about other streamers, games, and other topics that catch his attention, he also knows when matters require a serious approach. Known for streaming games such Call of Duty: Warzone, Dr Disrespect is a big name in the Twitch gaming community....

Sherlock composers David Arnold and Michael Price faced “a very particular problem” when creating the score for Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat’s new adaptation of Bram Stoker’s Dracula – the inscrutable nature of the title character. Speaking at the three-part series’ BFI Southbank launch, Arnold likened Dracula to the shark in Spielberg’s Jaws. “You don’t know anything about him, but he’s there representing something awful.” This adaptation, says Arnold, creates “a much more complex Dracula,” taking him out of the shadows and putting his personality and particular methodology to the fore....

Dragon Age 4 will likely take players to the human kingdom of the Tevinter Imperium for the first time in the franchises’ history. Despite not appearing directly in a game before, Tevinter has cast a long shadow over its neighbors, and has a long and storied history. Dragon Age 4 may place players in the Tevinter Imperium as some of the underlying tensions resulting from its history begin to surface and bubble over....

Like both Dragon Age games before it, Dragon Age: Inquisition offers a variety of NPC characters that you can romance, but ultimately, you can only pursue one romantic relationship to its conclusion in a single playthrough. In doing so, you will unlock the “Beloved and Precious” achievement/trophy. However, there is one romance that does not unlock this accolade and that is because it is a secret pseudo romance that only happens if you fulfill certain requirements and is only actually confirmed in the paid-for Trespasser DLC....

Few fighting games have been as anticipated by the core following of the genre as Dragon Ball FighterZ. One of the best places at E3 is the IndieCade. Of course, as TheGamer’s E3 representative, I made all the appointments I could for the highly anticipated games. I managed to get some time with Ghost Recon Breakpoint thanks to the wonderful people at Ubisoft. I also saw the ambitious storytelling Techland has in store for Dying Light 2. But when I grew tired of waiting in line for Nintendo demos (turns out they don’t let just anyone into their press area) or running from one side of the convention center to the other, I popped by the IndieCade....

The ESA has revealed that E3 2021 will run from June 12 to June 15 as an “all-virtual video game showcase that will be 100 percent free for attendees.” So far, the ESA is touting “early commitments from Nintendo, Xbox, Capcom, Konami, Ubisoft, Take-Two Interactive, Warner Bros. Games, and Koch Media” with more possible presenters to come. Considering that the fate of E3 2021 was very much in doubt after last year’s event was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and companies everywhere hosted their own digital events as the ESA failed to organize the same, this announcement may be more than E3 fans could have hoped for....

An interview with Electronic Arts’ COO Peter Moore reveals the publishing giant’s stance on the recent influx of HD remakes, relating the trend to looking backwards. Moore, who is best known for his heavy involvement with the Xbox and Xbox 360, didn’t hold back when he was asked about EA’s approach to re-releasing older titles. Curiously enough, Moore echoed the sentiments of former rival and Nintendo “Creative Fellow” Shigeru Miyamoto when he discussed why EA has actively resisted the current market trend:...

To call the response to Madden NFL 21 “mixed” would be a massive understatement. While critics have given the latest entry in EA’s American football sim series rather average scores, fans have not been as kind and have flooded the Internet with their outrage and frustration. Not only have there been calls for the NFL license to be taken away from EA (a movement that quickly grew in popularity), but the game’s Metacritic page has been bombarded with negative reviews demanding that others don’t buy the game and have left it as one of the worst scoring games on the entire site....

The “EA Gate” scandal has been drawing quite a bit of attention lately alongside FIFA 21. The scandal began trending on Twitter recently when it was alleged that an EA employee sold FIFA 21 cards for thousands of dollars. As well launching its own investigation, the company has announced they will be taking action against those who have purchased any of the FUT cards via the scandal, even if they didn’t help orchestrate it....

The Elder Scrolls Online has had quite the journey since its debut in 2014. As arguably one of the best survival games in the industry, 4A’s Metro series alone is enough to warrant some immense anticipation, yet with Embracer also acquiring the developer’s proprietary game engine, the sky’s the limit....

Empire of Sin, a forthcoming strategy game developed by Romero Games and published by Paradox Interactive, is set for release on December 1 for Microsoft Windows, macOS, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
