id Software and publisher Bethesda have released the launch trailer for DOOM, with the demon slaughtering, hell hunting FPS available starting May 13. It may be a bit early for a DOOM launch trailer, with the game primed for release on May 13, but just look at it like id Software wants players to marinate in all the blood and metal for a bit in preparation for what awaits them. That way when launch does arrive, players will be perfectly flavored to the palate of Hell’s most voracious demons....

Blizzard has released two new playable characters since the launch of its massively successful hero shooter Overwatch in May 2016, but, due to recent activity, it is likely the developer has plans to release another hero before the game’s first anniversary. Blizzard enjoys teasing new characters, and leaves breadcrumbs throughout the game’s various media, including the official website, Twitter posts, screenshots, as well as clues within the game itself. This is referred to as an ARG, augmented reality game....

We’ve known for a few weeks now that Dragon Ball FighterZ’s first DLC characters would be Goku’s father Bardock and the Legendary Super Saiyan Broly. While we still aren’t quite sure when these two fighters will be officially added to the roster, it does appear as though we at least have a new Broly trailer to look forward to sooner rather than later. Bandai Namco released a short video on Twitter earlier today of a box labeled as Broly’s full trailer for Dragon Ball FighterZ....

In their ever-growing pursuit of worldwide sales domination, Bethesda Softworks has announced yet another pre-order bonus for Fallout 4, this one for Steam users. Those who pre-order the game through Valve’s digital marketplace will unlock a Mister Handy announcer pack for Dota 2, further bridging the gap between Fallout 4 and nearly every other game on the planet. While few would blame Bethesda for releasing Fallout 4 as is, the studio’s hope of making the game one of the most successful clearly requires a lot of work....

Mickey Mouscapade for the Nintendo Entertainment system has one tucked away, but it’s quite hard to find if you don’t know where you should look. Big Finish has announced a mega eight-part audio drama, Once and Future, to mark the 60th anniversary of Doctor Who, reuniting an incredible seven former Doctors (so far!). Once and Future stars the impressive line-up of Tom Baker, Peter Davison, Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy, Paul McGann, Christopher Eccleston and David Tennant, but we’re also promised ‘dozens more’ guest stars, yet to be revealed. As if the trio of 60th Anniversary episodes next year wasn’t enough to look forward to, this announcement also means Doctor Who fans no longer have to wait until November 2023 for the 60th Anniversary fun to start, as the Once and Future audio series will begin in May 2023....

Whatever you say about “The Power of the Doctor”, you can’t accuse it of not having enough ideas. The Master, the Daleks, not one but two old companions, that regeneration scene, and to top it all off, it turned out to have a celebrity historical element thrown in for good measure. Well, kind of, anyway. For while we do see someone who is referred to as Rasputin early on in “The Power of the Doctor”, it quickly turns out to be a familiar Time Lord in disguise....

There are the souls who cling to a past that is widely commercially available, and rant about ‘wokeness’. Whatever they need to help them, it almost certainly won’t be found here. Then there are those who find issue with Chibnall’s writing of the show beyond its entertainment value....

While many will argue about every iteration’s quality, few can deny that the Call of Duty franchise offers a surprisingly well-rounded experience. From single player, to multiplayer, to co-op, the average COD title usually ticks all boxes. Whether it does so with style or in a way that gamers enjoy, however, is in the eye of the beholder. This year’s Call of Duty, subtitled Advanced Warfare, is still a few days out from release, but we already know that it too will tick all the appropriate boxes....

Doom Eternal has a robust campaign that offers an experience tailored to suit the player. The difficulty in which the player is immersed is only the beginning. The number of collectibles and secrets to be found offers hours of extra gameplay on top of the heart-pounding combat and boss encounters. Yet there is another side of Doom that has had little celebration so far. The multiplayer Battlemode offers an arena experience consisting of one slayer and two demons controlled by the players....

After reviewing Doom Eternal earlier this year, I was shocked to discover how divisive it was among Doom 2016 fans. To me, Eternal was an evolution that eclipsed the original in a way most sequels don’t. I loved the puzzle-like combat that required a mastery of every weapon at the Doomguy’s disposal and the need to manage a variety of cooldowns. The enhancements to mobility made for interesting platforming segments and faster-paced arenas....

The Dragon Age series is great for its compelling characters, deep lore, and fun RPG choices. However, it does have its failings. One such failing is its headgear designs. If you have played a Dragon Age game, it is likely that you went into the settings and turned off the visible headgear feature due to the fact that everyone looked like clowns in these hats. Bioware may just find it funny, as the hats have been awful in every game despite many fans pointing out how ugly the headgear is since Origins....

As we draw nearer to the game’s release, Bandai Namco Entertainment has released trailers focusing on specific characters in the upcoming Dragon Ball FighterZ. Popular characters like Piccolo and the evil alien Frieza have received their own trailers already, and now the ultra-powerful villain Cell has received one as well. In Dragon Ball FighterZ, Cell looks and acts just as fans might expect. He has access to his standard suite of moves that are on display in the show, and is shown to be a rather formidable fighter....
