In the most recent edition of the Official PlayStation Magazine UK, Epic Games’ Chief Technology Officer, Kim Liberi, stated that next-generation consoles will sport “movie-quality” CG thanks, in part, to Unreal Engine 5. Unreal Engine 5 will have the power of processing art that looks straight out of a feature film. The technology will also be able to scale everything in real time with no loss of quality. This was put on display during the Unreal Engine 5 reveal event in which Epic partnered with Sony and showed off a demo running on the PlayStation 5....

In a game about exploring, mining, and conquering space, the most interesting part of EVE Online is the players. EVE’s is a player community that regularly comes together to do incredible things, like raise money for COVID relief, or fight a giant in-game war. There’s an autonomy that players have in EVE Online not found in other games, mostly because players create and operate many things in the game themselves. Ships, weapons, ammunition; these are manufactured by the players that use them....

Destiny 2 studio Bungie is looking to refine the experience of the long-running MMO shooter after years of continuous content and sandbox updates. The developer has been rumored to have big plans for the solar system in the upcoming Season 11 and beyond, but the latest blog post on its website highlights smaller changes on the way for the game’s Legendary Engrams. Legendary Engrams in Destiny 2 drop the purple-rarity armor and weapons that make up the majority of a Guardian’s typical arsenal....

The odds were stacked against a little movie called Star Wars back in 1977. All the box office experts expected it to bomb. Fox struggled to get theaters to even screen it at first. But like the plucky Rebel Alliance taking on the mighty Galactic Empire, Star Wars defied those insurmountable odds and became a cultural phenomenon overnight. It went on to top 1975’s Jaws as the highest-grossing movie ever made....

Since it launched in March of 2018, Vermintide 2 has had an odd approach to DLC. There’s been a few map packs, two new careers (with another potential two teased), and a new Roguelike game mode courtesy of The Winds of Magic. The latest addition, The Chaos Wastes, is no different. Released to the public after being teased in blog posts for months by the games developer’s FatShark on their website, the Chaos Wastes brings a new Expeditions mode to the popular Skaven slaying multiplayer game....

While Microsoft has kept the Fable franchise alive through spin-offs and the like, there hasn’t been a new main series entry since 2010’s Fable 3. Luckily for Fable fans who are anxious to return to Albion, rumors have indicated that the next Fable game will finally be announced at E3 2019 in June. E3 2018 saw Head of Xbox Phil Spencer tease the next Fable, but we still have yet to see anything official on the rumored game....

Fan-favorite franchise Fable is officially back. Fable Fortune is leaving Steam’s Early Access and will be available for Windows PC and Xbox One on February 22nd. The free-to-play title resurrects the Fable franchise for the first time since Fable III, which launched in 2010, developed by Lionhead Studios. Fable Fortune, developed by Flaming Fowl Studios and in partnership with Mediatonic - known for its work on titles such as bird dating sim Hatoful Boyfriend - is a collectible card game allowing players to choose between good and evil in an effort to alter their chosen character’s special abilities (and cards within the deck itself) enough to win each match....

Blizzard recently announced the latest new hero to be added to Hearthstone, a gnome named Nemsy Necrofizzle. However, the method that the studio has laid out to gain access to the character seems to have backfired somewhat. There was some backlash when Blizzard introduced alternate hero skins to Hearthstone, as many players felt that the cosmetic content was rather overpriced, especially when compared to the cost of expansions. Perhaps in response to those complaints, Necrofizzle is being released for free – but there’s a different requirement for warlocks who want to play as the gnome....

Fallout 4 is a massive departure for the Fallout series. Unlike past games, this entry puts much more focus on rebuilding the wasteland instead of character interaction. While many hardcore fans hated this change, most Fallout 4 fans have seen the shift in gameplay rhythm as a positive. Exploration has never been more important, with dungeons granting permanent buffs in the form of magazines and invaluable Junk. Junk is the backbone of everything in Fallout 4, ranging from guns to settlements....

In Fallout 76, the quest Hunter for Hire is unlocked by completing the previous quest Wayward Souls, in which you find out about a mysterious treasure and a treasure hunter named Crane. A group of nearby raiders called the Free Radicals have been harassing the owner of the Wayward bar Duchess and her ghoul friend Mort, looking for Crane and this treasure. Speaking to Duchess after Wayward Souls will start Hunter for Hire....

Before we jump into the cultural phenomenon that is Pokémon, it’s important to see the numbers to understand its significance to the video game industry. Nintendo’s market value increased by 9 billion dollars in just 5 days after Pokémon GO was released. The first Pokémon ever to be designed was Rhydon. Pokémon is actually a contraction of “Pocket Monsters,” not a Japanese word. And while Pokémon started off with just 150 creatures, there are now over 800 Pokémon to catch....

The long-awaited console port of Disco Elysium was announced at The Game Awards, and will launch in March 2021. Disco Elysium is currently a PC exclusive, but next year that will change as the game has now been announced for PS4 and PS5. Many have been eagerly awaiting the chance to play Disco Elysium as it made quite a splash last year, scooping the most awards of any game during last year’s Game Awards, and even landing itself a lucrative TV series....

It’s time to check out what Disney+ UK has planned for June! Last month, the streaming service added Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker as its centrepiece, and this month will see the arrival of a first-look premiere in Kenneth Branagh’s new family film Artemis Fowl, which has skipped its cinema release and landed on Disney+. The big budget movie is based on the bestselling book by Eoin Colfer, and follows 12-year-old genius Artemis Fowl as he sets out to find his missing dad....

Disney’s Villainous lets players take control of the villain in the story, prompting them to do whatever it takes to complete their objective before their rivals can. Often this entails trickery, deceit, and careful planning, but much of that depends on which villain one is playing. At the moment, there are six villains in the core game and three villains in each of the three expansions. All total, that’s an impressive 15 playable characters, but there are still several iconic Disney villains that aren’t yet represented in the game....

Doom Eternal is finally out in the wild and rabid fans are already starting their second (or third) playthroughs. The long wait was well worth it, as is evident from our review.
