Nowadays, whenever a highly anticipated title is announced for release, it’s a safe bet that the option for a collector’s edition will eventually be on the table. Even though some gaming fans criticize the concept as nothing more than a hokey gimmick, developers probably wouldn’t manufacture the packages if there weren’t at least somewhat of a demand for them. So, whether it’s in-depth tomes such as the Modified Treasure Island Book included in Destiny’s pricey The Taken King Collector’s Edition, or real life replicas like the fully functional Pip-Boy being sold with the limited Fallout 4: Pip-Boy Edition, it’s obvious that these sets are big business for game companies....

A tired, sick, and hungry nation calls out for something…anything to distract from its miserable current state of affairs. Showtime steps up and responds with “Best we can do is another season of Dexter.” Yes, Showtime announced today that it has ordered one more season of its hallmark bloody drama Dexter. The new Dexter will be a 10-episode limited series that will feature star Michael C. Hall in the title role and bring back showrunner Clyde Phillips, who guided the show through its first four seasons....

Diablo 2: Resurrected will be made available at some point in 2021, and gamers are almost universally overjoyed at this announcement. Diablo 2: Resurrected is a complete remaster of the original game. Everything from the original will be included, with only minor changes being made. Most of these changes are to improve the game’s interface and ease-of-use. Anyone who hasn’t read-up on this remaster probably missed some important details that they should know before purchasing it when it launches....

Dino Crisis is one of Capcom’s survival horror franchises that garnered some attention when it was first released but soon dwindled down to existence. To those unfamiliar with the franchise’s history, Dino Crisis was born out of Resident Evil’s success, when creator Shinji Mikami saw the potential of using dinosaurs as a terrifying alternative to Resident Evil’s zombies. Although the first two Dino Crisis games were received well by its fanbase, the release of the third game, which basically ignored everything that the first two titles established, marked the end of the franchise....

The second season of Netflix true crime show Dirty John focuses on the fraught and rapidly escalating feud between former married couple Betty and Dan Broderick. The two were married for many years and shared four children together (in real life Betty was actually pregnant nine times, one of which resulted in a child who died after just four days), but Dan had an affair with his assistant Linda Kolkena, lied about it for years and eventually moved to divorce Betty....

An extended Dishonored 2 trailer featuring Emily’s ‘Low Chaos’ playthrough of the Clockwork Mansion level is out, in counterpoint to yesterday’s ‘High Chaos’ trailer. For those following Dishonored 2 news, yesterday was a treat. Not only will gamers who pre-order access the game a day early, but Arkane saw fit to release an exciting gameplay trailer. Emily’s High Chaos playthrough of the Clockwork Mansion mission was everything it was set up to be – violent and intense....

The Mandalorian continues to dominate the Star Wars discussion with reveal after reveal. This time, it was the finale episode of Season 2 that ended with the biggest bang possible, including a very special end-credits stinger for the future of the Disney+ Star Wars universe in The Book of Boba Fett. For those who haven’t seen it: At the end of season 2, there is a scene where Boba Fett makes a short appearance as an announcement for The Book of Boba Fett, which will be coming in December 2021....

Disney has just announced that the live action remake of Mulan will be delayed… again. Mulan is the classic story of a young woman who goes to war for China in order to save elderly father from becoming a soldier again. The movie has faced criticism since it was announced with a few significant cuts from the original—namely, no singing, no Mushu, and no Li Shang, aka Disney’s OG bisexual icon....

Disney+ offers a wide range of films and television shows for fans to binge, but certain changes have been made to some of those programs. One viewer noticed that in particular, the 1984 film Splash has seen some unexpected censorship on the Disney+ platform. In the final scene of Splash, starring Daryl Hannah and Tom Hanks, Hannah’s character Madison makes a return to the sea after spending time exploring life on solid ground....

The Doom franchise has been in the spotlight quite a bit following the success of id Software’s Doom (2016) and its sequel Doom Eternal, which speedrunners are already making impressive headway with. Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot did a lot to unify the various incarnations of the franchise. Characters from the original Dragon Ball appear in sub-stories and intermingle with the characters frequently, and with DLC 1, Dragon Ball Super is now represented as well. One of the game’s more bold choices was to include non-canon characters from other Dragon Ball video games, such as Android 21 from Dragon Ball FighterZ or Mira and Towa from Dragon Ball Xenoverse....

Fans who have heard or tried Larian Studios’ Baldur’s Gate 3 might find themselves left hanging by the game’s Early Access tease. Moreover, some Dungeons and Dragons fans who played the game might itch to get some more D&D action. Unfortunately, creating a party might get tricky for aspiring Dungeon Masters, and creating a story even more so. Crafting a campaign setting from scratch might just take too much time....

Authors Tracy Hickman and Margaret Weis, co-creators of the popular Dragonlance Chronicles, filed a lawsuit against last week against Dungeons and Dragons publisher Wizards of the Coast. The pair alleges that Wizards breached a contract revolving around the publication of a new Dragonlance trilogy. The original Dragonlance trilogy, known as the Dragonlance Chronicles, were published by D&D original publisher TSR in the 1980s. The novels took place in the high fantasy world of Krynn, which became a popular campaign setting for D&D fans throughout the rest of the decade....

Bethesda has published their newest DLC expansion pack, Elsweyr, for The Elder Scrolls: Online (ESO) on June 4, but they still took the opportunity at E3 to reveal a fantastic new cinematic trailer that follows the story from the DLC announcement. Elsweyr marks the third DLC Chapter for ESO, not to be confused with the smaller DLC packs also offered in the game. Those smaller packs that came before these large expansions focused mainly on certain guilds in the game, or adding single provinces with new story lines, and they could be purchased individually or accessed by players who subscribe to ESO Plus....

For those wondering if Luigi’s helper doppelganger is edible, rest assured: Gooigi is indeed edible. Luigi’s Mansion 3 was originally announced last September as one of Nintendo’s 2019 Switch titles. The game popped up during Nintendo’s E3 Direct earlier this week, where we learned about new gameplay mechanics, online multiplayer, and of course, Gooigi. According to Nintendo’s plot description, Luigi’s Mansion 3 takes place at the “Last Resort,” a hotel seemingly perfect for a quality vacation....
