Head below to see which ones are joining Year 2.] When Bungie first revealed the new exotic armor pieces and weapons for Destiny Year 2 they did so with a promise: this is only the beginning. Starting tomorrow, the developer will unveil new exotic items that will be joining the Destiny loot table, both brand new weapons/armor pieces and some that are being upgraded from Year 1....

Destiny developer Bungie trademarks the title Rise of Iron seeming to add to the credibility of it being the game’s upcoming fall expansion. Ever since the art for Destiny’s rumored Rise of Iron expansion leaked, few have questioned its legitimacy. Now, more evidence has surfaced that looks like it confirms that Rise of Iron is, in fact, the title of Destiny’s next content drop. On May 31, 2016 Bungie applied for a trademark of the title Rise of Iron for use in “interactive game software; video game software” and reserving its use across multiple media forms (as is standard in many of Bungie’s past trademarks related to Destiny)....

New footage of upcoming first-person shooter DOOM has been revealed, showing the game running at up to 200FPS with the help of the powerful Nvidia GTX 1080. A couple of days ago, Nvidia announced their newest graphical powerhouse, the GTX 1080. Now, developers over at id Software have shown off more footage of their upcoming DOOM reboot running with the video card, and the results are outstanding. From the serene snowscapes of Emprise du Lion to the towering trees of the Emerald Graves, to the oppressive emptiness of the Western Approach and the absurd variety of moods and hues between, Dragon Age Inquisition remains one of the most aesthetically inspired games in recent memory. Unfortunately, a lot of people never get to see this aspect of Inquisition, which is a real shame. A new, exciting reveal for Dragon Ball FighterZ informs fans that three new characters will be coming to the upcoming fighting game, taken straight from the currently-airing Dragon Ball Super anime. Beerus, Goku Black (With Zamasu), and Hit are the first Super characters to make an appearance in the game besides Super Saiyan Blue transformations and Golden Frieza. These latest character announcements are our first indication that Dragon Ball FighterZ could be getting more of the cast of Dragon Ball Super added to its roster, either prior to release or as part of the extensive DLC plans....

With the absence of Sony at E3 2019, Xbox is the undisputed big dog of the show. Although things unofficially started with yesterday’s EA Play stream, Xbox’s Sunday evening press conference feels a bit more like the actual start of E3 week. The company may be in for a big year with rumors of more Halo Infinite details and next-gen hardware getting a lot of fans excited. Fortnite players on certain platforms can now use mobile app Houseparty to video chat with their friends in-game. Fortnite’s battle royale mode started off as little more than that. 100 players landing on a map and fighting each other until only one remains. However, Epic continues to try and make it so much more. It appears to be turning Fortnite into more than a game. A social network come to life via Party Royale, where violence is outlawed, and live in-game concerts featuring big-name stars....

As is now routine every Thursday, the Epic Games Store has rotated out last week’s free games and has released yet more. This week’s offerings include two great free games in Enter the Gungeon and God’s Trigger. Epic also confirmed that next week will also have two free games, with the 2016 Hitman reboot and a collection of classic Shadowrun games unlocking. Epic Games Store users just need to log in and claim the games to own them....

The world of PC gaming is currently wrapped up in its very own platform war, which sees the Epic Games Store trying to woo users to its platform from Steam with a large variety of timed-exclusivity contracts. However, Epic has had trouble with spyware accusations as of late, something Epic CEO Tim Sweeney has finally addressed via Twitter. The CEO took to Twitter to vent about misinformation and lies being spread throughout the online community, which largely stems from paranoia regarding one of Epic’s largest investors, a Chinese company called Tencent....

The recent confirmation that Xbox’s flagship xCloud streaming service would not be coming to Apple devices was disappointing to many, though not necessarily surprising. Apple’s “walled garden” approach to its app store restricts iOS users’ access to certain applications. xCloud fell outside those accepted restrictions. Yet the ethics, as well as the legality of that decision, are certainly questionable. The decision has even prompted a response by a major international body, with the European Union recently making a statement....
