EA’s FIFA 20 takes it to the streets with the long-requested Volta Football mode in which men and women can finally share the pitch together. FIFA Street last debuted in 2012 on the previous generation of consoles, and this feels about as close to a sequel as could be hoped for. The addition of Volta Football comes in the form of a career mode that contains NBA 2k MyCareer-levels of customization with FIFA Street matches that bring back memories from years before....

It’s a rare thing to want an absolutely terrible character to be added as DLC to a fighting game, but Capcom clearly knows its fans. After revealing four of the planned five characters for Street Fighter 5’s surprise fifth season back in August, fans were elated to learn that Saikyo master Dan Hibiki had made the cut. Notorious for being a joke at the expense of SNK’s Ryo Sakazaki from Art of Fighting, Dan has climbed his way into the hearts of fans across the globe....

From Software has revealed that Elden Ring will not deviate from tradition and the game will include online multiplayer. Elden Ring was finally re-revealed at the end of the Summer Game Fest last night, giving us a further look at some of the gameplay as well as a release date. The onset of EA Play, Electronic Arts’ unique subscription service, has perhaps been slower than many expected. EA first rolled out the service as EA Access and Origin Access in 2014 and 2016, respectively. It took five extra years to come to PS5 and six to come to Steam. But now that it’s been rebranded as EA Play, the service has grown into something much more impressive. Electronic Arts is running with the wave of success, even going so far as predicting the EA Play subscriber base will double in 2021....

Summer is just about to get underway, with PlayStation’s April State Of Play kicking things off. Today, we were given a glimpse of what’s in store for the PS5 (and PS4) in the coming months. Fairy Tail creator Hiro Mashima is going into business with Square Enix to help develop a new JRPG. Known as Gate of Nightmares, the upcoming mobile game will be making its way to iOS and Android devices in the future. Gate of Nightmares takes place in Lemuria, a world where people’s own dreams can be manifested into the real world. The fantasy story will be filled with swords and magic across a grandiose adventure, and will follow a trio of characters on a journey to save the world: Azel, Emma, and Meruru....

It might be true that Fall Guys fans have just as much fun outside of the game as they do while playing. The Fall Guys activity on social media, whether it’s sharing fan art, sharing gameplay clips, or just chatting, is constant. The creations of the community are increasingly impressive. Devolver Digital and Mediatonic revealed Fall Guys season 2 during Gamescom 2020, the first major seasonal content update for the party game phenomenon of the summer. The new season will feature new stages and skins inspired by the middle ages and classic fantasy. Fallout 4 had a variety of companions who could be chosen to travel alongside the sole survivor of Vault 101, each with their own perks and personalities. While he can’t be romanced like other companions, Dogmeat is definitely the most unique and adorable character available to accompany the player through the dangers of post-apocalyptic Boston. Dogmeat can be equipped with a range of cosmetics, including three varieties of dog armor. Despite being differentiated as light, regular, and heavy dog armor, none of these items actually provide any defensive benefits with the only difference between them being purely aesthetic....

One of the biggest games arriving this year is undoubtedly Fallout 4. The game has managed to garner an immense amount of attention following its reveal, and hype amongst gamers for the title doesn’t appear to be diminishing whatsoever. While anticipation has reached a fever pitch, it’s easy to temporarily forget about the latest entry in Bethesda’s other blockbuster property, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. It’s odd to think that it has already been almost four years since Skyrim arrived across Xbox 360, PS3, and PC, and demand for a followup hasn’t slumped at all....

A mod for Bethesda Game Studios’ post-apocalyptic RPG, Fallout 4, allows fans to play a corridor shooter mini-game within the base version of the title. With Fallout 4 having been available for quite some time now, it’s safe to presume that those who picked up the release upon its launch in 2015 and finished the action-RPG in its entirety would be excited to have extra mini-games added to the title’s handful of Holotape games....
