Elden Ring creators shared additional details through an official website update, revealing some exciting new features. Among them are an emphasis on stealth, weather and environment usage in combat, and dozens of different skills at players’ disposal. For too long Elden Ring has hidden in the shadows, forcing fans to create the game’s lore and bosses for themselves, sharing the wildest ideas across the web. Finally, FromSoftware began to slowly lift the shroud of mystery, for the first time revealing gameplay at Summer Game Fest....

In an extensive new interview, Elden Ring producer Yasuhiro Kitao reveals how long it will take most players to beat the open-world title’s main route. “This will differ significantly by player,” Kitao says in response to a question about approximately how many hours it takes to complete Elden Ring. “In terms of the targets set during development, the idea is that the main route should be able to be completed within around 30 hours....

From Software’s Hidetaka Miyazaki and George R.R. Martin’s heavily anticipated collaboration, Elden Ring, has had a lot of expectations and fan speculation behind it. Originally announced at E3 2019, the developers have intentionally stayed tight-lipped about the game for a long time. Hidetaka Miyazaki has famously touted Elden Ring to have a new “open-field” concept, which has sparked another wave of rumors about what the system might be and what implications the mechanic could have for future Souls games....

The Epic Games Store Holiday Sale is in full swing, discounting dozens of games up to 75 percent from now through January 7. For many PC gamers, particularly those trying to save some money, it’s not the Holiday Sale so much as the daily free games that are worth looking forward to. This year, Epic Games is giving Epic Games Store users 15 Days of Free Games, with one free game available each day....

Shenmue III is finally offering Kickstarter backers their refund for not providing promised Steam keys, but the money is coming from a most unusual source. When Shenmue III made history by becoming the largest video game to ever be Kickstarted, they promised PC backers they’d eventually get a key for the game on Steam. After two years of delays, developer Ys Net then announced that Shenmue III would actually be an Epic Games Store exclusive, which didn’t exactly go over well....

It was revealed during the keynote address at QuakeCon 2019 that Doom, Doom II, and Doom 3 were being made available on modern systems, to much excitement. That’s not all, however; it seems that another classic Doom title might also be getting a port, as Doom 64 has received a PEGI rating. Doom is rather infamous for being ported to numerous different systems over the years, not all of them exactly what you’d call a gaming console....

The quest itself is worth looking into because of how ridiculously funny it is but the summon isn’t top tier. 18 Megumi Megumi must be obtained through two side quests. The first is An Act of Kindness which involves Ichiban helping a little girl get donations for her family....

The Xbox Game Pass library is growing yet again, with several big titles “coming soon” to the ultra-popular service. Titles revealed by Microsoft include Fable Anniversary, Fable III, Destroy All Humans, Second Extinction, Phogs, and MLB The Show 21. MLB The Show 21 isn’t coming soon – it’s actually available right now. For the first time in franchise history, MLB The Show is available outside the PlayStation family. If you happen to own a Series X, you can even experience the action in 4K at 60fps....

Music Stories: How do they work? While listening to a song in Apple Music or Spotify on your mobile device, go to the streaming service’s Share menu to copy the link to the song or album that’s playing, then open the Facebook for iOS app, and start composing a status update. Type a status, then paste the link, and post your update. A preview of that song will then appear as a “Music Story” on your timeline and within your friends’ news feeds....

Fallout 4 developer Joel Burgess has revealed a Hideo Kojima Easter egg that most players of the RPG seem to have missed. Burgess, who is now the world director for Ubisoft’s open world game Watch Dogs Legion, also shared an “immersive sim” Easter egg from the game, and another Easter egg about a popular indie game developer. On Twitter, Burgess shared screenshots from a three part Fallout 4 Easter egg. Calling it an “easter egg within an easter egg, within an easter egg,” Burgess says that the first part is a simple door puzzle that can be unlocked by tapping in the code “0451”....

As people return to the wasteland of Appalachia, they bring a variety of new quests into the world of Fallout 76. One of the first quests you should take as you explore the Wastelanders update is the quest Wayward Souls, which serves as a good introduction to some of the folks that inhabit West Virginia. Wayward Souls begins at Vault 76, both for new players just emerging or old players visiting their old stomping ground....

Titled “The Legendary Run,” the upcoming Fallout 76 update will add a season pass to the game for players to rank up for bonuses like perk cards, consumables, and more than 40 cosmetic items. The setup will be familiar to the battle pass model used in other popular titles like Fortnite and Destiny 2, with 100 ranks for players to climb over the next few months through a mix of daily and weekly challenges....

Typically, when gamers think of Electronic Arts, their minds tend to drift toward the developer’s myriad iterations of sports titles. Whether it’s football, basketball, or soccer, the developer annually drops a brand new Madden release, NBA Live game, and a fresh version of FIFA, so it’s really no wonder why fans’ brains immediately associate EA with their simulations of those athletic past times. Despite EA’s successful slew of sports titles – Madden continues to be their top draw, as it became the top selling game of August 2015 – the firm also tackles its fair share of other genres by publishing games like the rhythm-based Rock Band, the fantasy-RPG Dragon Age, and the sci-fi survival horror title Dead Space....

As far as gaming conventions go, BlizzCon is one of the the biggest. Blizzard’s convention focuses entirely on the developer’s own games, and has been used to give fans a sneak peek at new content in the likes of World of Warcraft, and Diablo 3, such as the reveal of Diablo 3’s Demon Hunter class and the PvP multiplayer mode. In previous years the event has given players a chance to play titles in-development, and hosted the unveilings of all-new titles such as Blizzard DOTA, which is now in development as Heroes of the Storm....

We all love the Doom Slayer. His murderous rage and relentless urge to mutilate every demon he comes across have made him one of the most endearing figures in video game history. Because while a well-rounded, relatable hero with plenty of character flaws is great and all, sometimes you just want to play as a hulking slab of muscle with a chainsaw. But even though we don’t need any kind of backstory for our old pal Doomguy, there may be an actual reason as to why he’s so gosh-darned angry all the time....

The Switch is about to get even more radical with Double Dragon Neon releasing for the platform later this month. The arcade-style beat-em-up is coming back this generation on December 21. In true righteous fashion, Billy and Jimmy go on a comedic adventure to save Marian from the villain Skullmagddon. In order to do so, they’ll have to go through the city streets, secret labs, and dark forests to be the absolute baddest duo in town....

The Following expansion for Dying Light breathes new life into the year-old parkour FPS zombie game by adding a dune buggy and a huge new map to explore. Dying Light is the best selling Techland title in history, so it makes sense that the developer has decided to capitalize on the game’s popularity. Techland is doing this by releasing Dying Light: The Following as both an expansion to the main game, and as a complete Enhanced Edition package that features the original Dying Light and all its DLC....

Phantasy Star Online 2 is a game that fans have expected for years to be localized outside of Japan by Sega and Sony. At E3, we can all agree that there was a collective shock to learn that the game will finally be coming West in 2020, but on PC and Xbox One with crossplay. To say that fans have received the news positively is an understatement, and it feels equally surprising to see that Sony squandered the potential to have it for themselves....
