I know what’s up. You are just like me. You are sitting there on your couch flipping channels thinking to yourself, “Man, when are we going to have a nonstop action movie based on a video game that’s so cheesy that it makes Doom look like a work of art?”
Well my friends, your prayers have been answered. They’ve been answered… by Uwe Boll. After delivering such gems as Bloodrayne 2 and Alone in the Dark 2 (yes, those movies exist), Uwe Boll found it necessary to destroy another of our video game treasures. The one in the cross-hairs this go around is Far Cry. Apparently the story from the game wasn’t good enough for him because it had plot twists and turns, so he decided to write a “dumbed-down” version of the same story for the audience. It was either that or he couldn’t wrap his head around a photographer that turns out to be a CIA Agent.
All that being said, if you want to see some pretty decent actors getting a paycheck and some explosions, then grab this one off the shelf at your local Wal-Mart next Tuesday the 24th. Poor Don S. Davis, so good in Stargate SG-1 for so many years and now this has permanently gone down on his filmography.

If you played Modern Warfare 2 recently, you might recognize one of the main baddies in the film as the character Ghost from MW2. I am basing my opinions off the trailer, which can be seen below.
Will you be checking out this video game movie adaptation?
Far Cry (the movie) is available November 24, 2009.
