The story of the Wild West can’t be told without Native Americans. Rockstar Games is taking that fact very seriously by adding in Native American outfits to Red Dead Redemption II and people are loving it.

Red Dead Online has been the place for fans to hang out and interact with each other and while it hasn’t had as much attention as GTA 5 it is still being taken care of by Rockstar Games—even if it potentially took players dressing up as clowns to get an update. If you haven’t played in a little while, you’ll want to know that there was an update recently that added tons of new content to the experience that was released just a few days ago.

The Naturalist update brings additions to clothing that can be bought from Wheeler, Rawson & Co. but also new legendary animals, a new role (The Naturalist), and tons of patches to existing content. Of course, a growing number of people are very excited to be able to accurately role-play their Native American characters through the addition of period-appropriate attire. As reported on GameRant, one person claiming to be Native American said on Reddit that they were happy with the additions and want Rockstar Games to continue to add Native American outfit options to the game as a way to preserve the culture.

Speaking of preservation, the new Naturalist role tasks players with preserving the wildlife of the Old West through new missions, a new character, and new gear to help you protect the animals. In addition to all of that, there are 28 new species of animals to find in the game, all of which will need protection, of course.

Red Dead was and is an amazing game that every gamer should experience at least once. It truly brings the Wild West to life and helps us get a better understanding of what life may have been like over 100 years ago. The fact that Rockstar has gone out of their way to ensure that there is appropriate attire for their Native American characters is a testament to their love for the environment that they created. If it’s been a while since you’ve picked up the game, or if you never have, there is no better time than now to hop on and start living out the life of a citizen of the Old West.
