Radstags are disturbing mutations born of the radioactive climate left by the Great War. Yet despite their post-nuclear aesthetic, these genetically mutated deer still provide for settlers and raiders alike in Fallout 76.

You can harvest their meat, hides, and blood for survival and trade (aka crafting and questing). While these deer are still fairly commonplace even after the fallout, there are specific locations you should hunt first if you need the kills or materials pronto.

The Most Reliable Radstag Locations

Radstags don’t necessarily roam expansive regions throughout Appalachia. Though you can happen upon them randomly, there are several particular locations where small herds of them can be found with some regularity.

  • A herd of three if not more Radstags dwell slightly northwest (almost directly west) of The Crater that sits on the Northeast border of the Toxic Valley. Thomas Farmhouse lies east of Dent & Sons Construction in the Savage Divide. This is one of the most consistent hunting spots, as four Albino Radstags seem to have made it their home. At Twin Lakes in the Savage Divide, a small herd of three Radstag has claimed the topmost lake as their favorite watering hole. If you’re having trouble finding the lakes, start at Marigold Pavilion and head Southeast. In Appalachia’s Forest region, North of Whitespring Golf Club, two Radstag can be seen roaming as you journey into the mountains. You’re apt to find three Radstags roaming the Whitespring Resort grounds if you check the pond behind one of the houses on the property. A dried lake bed lies between the Lakeside Cabins and Summerville along route 87 in the Forest region of Appalachia. The numbers are unknown, but thirsty Radstag can be seen roaming the parched earth in this area. There is a junkyard in the Toxic Valley region, West of Hemlock Holes, where Radstags have been spotted as well. The Wixon Homestead lies between Gilman Lumber Mill and Flatwoods Lookout, slightly to the East in Appalachia’s Forest region. Since its well-to-do inhabitants evacuated or perished, it now serves as a stomping ground for surviving Radstag.

Note: Be sure to check the title before filling any albino Radstags full of bullets. There is a variant of albino Radstags called “Observant Radstag” that is rumored to lead you to valuable stashes as part of a random encounter known as “Follow The Trail.”

That concludes our findings for the best Radstag locations. It’s a short list, but it’s full of sweet spots for your deer hunting needs.
