Fallout 76’s rendition of Appalachia is rife with danger, like violent wildlife, deranged raiders, and even hostile fellow Vault survivors. Players will need to use anything they can turn to their advantage, such as perks, to give them an edge — of course, among the more straightforward solutions is a good set of armor. And one of the best armor sets in the game is the secret service armor.
Secret service armor has a lot of great resistances that almost rival that of any power armor. However, it can be tricky to get your hands on — here’s the scoop.
What It Is
In terms of lore, the armor set was used by the pre-war secret service that operated out of Appalachia. When it is fully upgraded, secret service armor has the highest radiation resistance of any non-power armor in the game and has great damage resistance on top of that.
Where To Find It
The armor can be crafted (which we’ll get to shortly), but it can also be obtained via random drops from either Purveyor Murmrgh at the Rusty Pick or from events. The latter can only be done once the armor plans are obtained.
The plans can be obtained from Regs in Vault 79. He is a vendor that only accepts bullion as payment. There are a few different ways to get it, the easiest being trading in your caps to Smiley at The Wayward. The total amount of bullion needed to buy the plans will vary based on the piece of the secret service armor.
- Helmet - 1,650 Underarmor - 250 Arms- 750 for each arm Chest - 1250 Legs - 750 for each leg
It is also important to note that Regs also sells modification plans for each piece of armor too, so keep that in mind if you end up using the secret service armor a lot.
Materials Needed To Craft The Armor Pieces
You also need to obtain the correct materials to craft the armor. They can be crafted at any workbench in the game.
The materials and the amount needed will again vary based on the piece of the armor. The one thing they have in common is that all require one legendary module to craft, which can be obtained from the previously mentioned Purveyor Murmrgh. The materials needed to craft each piece are as follows:
- Helmet - 1 leather, 3 plastic, 1 rubber and 5 steel Underarmor- 7 ballistic fiber and 9 circuitry Arms - 1 adhesive, 2 leather, 6 plastic, 2 rubber, and 10 steel for each arm Chest - 1 adhesive, 4 leather, 13 plastic, 5 rubber. and 17 steel Legs - 1 adhesive, 2 leather, 8 plastic, 2 rubber, and 12 steel for each leg
Once you have each piece crafted, you’ll look and feel like a survivor that’s ready to take on the whole of Appalachia!
