Feral Ghouls are one of the most iconic enemies in the entire Fallout franchise, so it only makes sense for them to appear in the latest title Fallout 76. They are the mutated, zombie-like humans that were turned into dangerous beasts by the titular fallout the series is based on. While you might expect them to be a common sight around the wasteland, they do have some locations where they are far more likely to spawn than anywhere else. If you’re on the hunt for the best feral ghoul locations, mark these spots on your Pip-Boy’s map and get hunting!
Best Feral Ghoul Spawn Locations
Your first bet on locating some of these zombified foes is in he Watoga Emergancy Services location in the Cranberry Bog area of the map. This is the building opposite the Watoga Civic Center that says “Emergency Services” on it in big white letters. Be warned, though, that the ghouls you’ll find here are fairly high level, including the chance of some legendary types to spawn, so only come here if you’re at least level 30 to be somewhat safe.
Once ready and inside the building, take the elevator up to the second floor. Take a right and find the stairs to go up all the way to the top floor they can take you to. This floor is where all the ghouls like to live, so clear them out to your heart’s content. There should be eight or more depending on your luck with spawns.
The Burrows
If you’ve played Fallout 76 for a while you should already be familiar with The Burrows dungeon. If not, it is in Harper’s Ferry located in the swamp region of the map. You’ll need to find a manhole in the town to enter the dungeon area proper. Once inside, you’ll be in a massive network of tunnels jam-packed with feral ghouls. Again, just as a fair warning, these ghouls can run the entire level range so tread carefully.
The Whitespring Golf Club
Located just to the East of the Whitespring Resort proper, the golf club is another popular place to run up against a hoard of feral ghouls, and occasionally a windigo or two. They like to wander aimlessly around the exterior of the building, plus in the clubhouse itself.
While you’re in the forest region, there are a few other spots that tend to have some feral ghouls, though in less reliable numbers. Morgantown is a good bet to clean up some zombies, as is Charleston. We’ve had luck particularly in the fire department building, landfill area, and capitol building in Charleston and the Vault Tech University just beside Morgantown.
Other Options
A few other quick locations you can add to your list if you’re really desperate for those ghouls is the Garrahan and Hornwright Estates, as well as the entire town of Monogah and its mine shafts. Between all of these locations, you should have more than enough targets to satisfy your feral ghoul needs.
