Fallout 4 has a variety of equipment that the player can use, and the Far Harbor DLC added on to this by adding a whole host of new weapons and armor for the player to obtain and equip. Some of the weapons that are found on Far Harbor are unlike anything found in the base game, and they have attributes such as dealing extra radiation damage or being modified to shoot a special type of ammo.
Weapons, including the Lever-Action Rifle and Harpoon Gun, aren’t found in the Commonwealth through traditional methods and can only be obtained on the Island of Far Harbor. With this in mind, players will want to obtain all of the best unique weapons during their visit to the foggy Island.
9 Caltrops - 10 Damage
Caltrops are a weapon that are completely unique to Far Harbor as there aren’t any other kinds of traps in the base game that function in the same way. The player can throw down Caltrops, and when an enemy walks over them, they will take damage.
Although caltrops can be useful in certain situations, they don’t do enough damage to be one of the most powerful weapons on the Island of Far Harbor, and there are without a doubt weapons that are much stronger than this throwable item.
8 Lever-Action Rifle - 35 Damage
The Lever-Action Rifle seems as if it would be a very powerful weapon, and its appearance makes players that initially see it want to use it because it has an old-fashioned appearance.
However, the Lever-Action Rifle is actually one of the weakest rifles in the game because of how long it takes to reload and the fact that it doesn’t do much more damage than other rifles such as the Radium Rifle. The Lever-Action Rifle can be found all over Far Harbor and can be bought from vendors on the Island.
7 Pole Hook - 30 Damage
The Pole Hook is one of the only new melee weapons that was introduced in Far Harbor, and although it has an interesting appearance, it isn’t very powerful. The Pole Hook only does 30 base damage, which is beaten easily by a Super Sledge, even with the difference in speed.
However, one thing that the Pole Hook has to its advantage is the fact that it is very commonly found all over the Island, and players can obtain it easily off the bodies of Trappers.
6 Poison Caltrops - Poison Damage
Poison Caltrops are a more powerful form of Caltrops. Instead of dealing a low amount of base damage, they will deal damage over time with poison.
Although Poison Caltrops are not by any means the most powerful weapon in the DLC, they are much more powerful than regular Caltrops and, if utilized correctly, can deal a lot of damage to human enemies in a short amount of time. Players that enjoy using traps should use Poison Caltrops whenever they get the chance.
5 Meat Hook - 20 Damage
The Meat Hook is the only new unarmed weapon that is found on the Island of Far Harbor, and it has a base damage of 20, which isn’t very impressive when compared to the unarmed weapons in the base game.
Although the unarmed skill isn’t very popular among players, it was nice that Bethesda decided to add at least one new unarmed weapon in the DLC. Unfortunately, the Meat Hook isn’t a very viable option for the end game unless the player happens to obtain a legendary variant of this weapon.
4 Harpoon Gun - 150 Damage
The Harpoon Gun is a new heavy weapon in Far Harbor, and although there are better heavy weapons such as the Fat Man, this weapon is actually quite viable for heavy weapon users since the ammunition, Harpoons, are abundant on Far Harbor.
The Harpoon Gun deals 150 base damage, which will one-shot many different enemies that are found on the Island of Far Harbor. Players that prefer to use heavy weapons should try to obtain one of the various legendary variants that can be found throughout the DLC.
3 The Striker - 100 Damage
The Striker is another new heavy weapon in the expansion pack; however, this piece of equipment is a modified Fat Man that is able to shoot bowling balls instead of mini-nukes. The Striker also has a legendary effect that may cripple the target.
Beaver Creek Lanes is the location that the player must travel to in order to obtain The Striker, and it is well worth it considering how much fun this weapon is to use. Although The Striker isn’t quite as powerful as some of the legendary variants for the regular Fat Man, it is, without a doubt, one of the most fun weapons to use in the entire game.
2 Radium Rifle - 27 Base Damage And 50 Radiation Damage
The Radium Rifle is one of the most powerful rifles in the entire game because of its potential rate of fire and the fact that it deals radiation damage alongside its base damage. The radiation damage will be most effective against humans since they are not immune to radiation without armor.
Using the Radium Rifle against the Trappers and other human enemies on Far Harbor will be a blast, and it is easy to see why this is considered to be one of the best new weapons in the DLC.
1 Atom’s Judgement - 40 Base Damage And 100 Radiation Damage
Atom’s Judgement is another weapon that is obtained by interacting with the Children of Atom cult on Far Harbor, and it also deals radiation damage alongside its regular damage, similar to the Radium Rifle.
However, Atom’s Judgement isn’t a new weapon as it is a modified Super Sledge, which makes it one of the most powerful melee weapons in the game since the Super Sledge deals so much base damage. Using Atom’s Judgement against humans is one of the most fun things that a player can experience in Fallout 4 because it will not only deal regular damage, it will also irradiate them as well.
