The Far Harbor DLC introduced many new weapons, quests, and locations that can be discovered while adventuring on the Far Harbor island in Fallout 4. Acadia is small but it is one of the most important locations to the main plot of the Far Harbor DLC. Acadia is the location where DiMA and the synths reside, and it has many interesting characters to interact with.

Although Acadia isn’t very large, it is a central location in the Far Harbor DLC and there is a lot to discover about it that is initially hidden if the Sole Survivor isn’t looking closely.

10 Acadia Is Based Around Acadia National Park

It’s no secret that Far Harbor is based around the real-world Bar Harbor Island; however, what isn’t well known is that Acadia got its name from Acadia National Park.

This National Park is filled with miles of beautiful trees and perfect spots for hiking. However, in Fallout 4 Acadia is very different with radiation and terrifying mutants scouring its landscape. The two locations do share many similarities though including the shape of their landscapes and their distinct names.

9 Acadia Appears In Fallout: Wasteland Warfare

Fallout: Wasteland Warfare is a Fallout-themed board game that features many different things that are present in the Fallout video games. Among these locations and characters is Acadia, which takes its place in the board game as a location alongside other locations such as the Sanctuary Hills settlement.

Although Acadia isn’t the most important location in Fallout: Wasteland Warfare, it’s still interesting that it was put into the game despite having such a small part in Fallout 4.

8 Dejen In Acadia Sells Unique Weapons

Dejen is one of the characters that reside in Acadia, and like many of the other NPCs in the building, he is a synth. The Sole Survivor can speak with Dejen, and when they do, they can buy a few special weapons from this character.

One of these weapons is called Sergeant Ash, a flamer that has a chance to cripple an enemy’s leg when they are hit. It is worth buying this weapon because it is one of the strongest flamers in Fallout 4.

7 The Synths In Acadia Dislike The Railroad

It may seem as though the Railroad and Acadia would be close allies; however, the synths of Acadia have a strong disdain for the Railroad faction and its members, and for a very good reason.

When the Railroad rescues a synth from the Institute, they completely erase their memory; the synths of Acadia don’t take kindly to this action and believe it is against the synth’s rights to have their memory wiped. After looking at the situation from their perspective, it becomes understandable as to why Acadia doesn’t trust the Railroad and actually despises them for their inhumane actions.

6 DiMA And Faraday Claimed Acadia Together

Faraday isn’t as relevant to the main plot of Far Harbor as DiMA is, which is why most players don’t know about this fact. DiMA and Faraday were the two synths that found and claimed Acadia as their base, which is interesting since the safe house started with only two members.

When DiMA and Faraday first found Acadia, they probably weren’t too sure as to whether their safe house was going to be a success, however by the events of Far Harbor, Acadia has saved dozens of synths.

5 Chase’s Uniform Is Unique

There are tons of fun and unique items to discover in the Far Harbor DLC; however, one of the lesser-known items is Chase’s Uniform. This outfit is a special Courser Outfit that has seen some wear and tear since Chase first obtained it from the Institute.

Chase was a Courser prior to escaping from the Institute, which is why she has a Courser Outfit in her possession. It is worth obtaining this outfit if Chase dies during the events of Far Harbor.

4 There Is No Fog Around Acadia’s Building

There is fog all around the island of Far Harbor, and some of the fog is even radioactive. However, Acadia is one of the only locations that doesn’t have any fog at all, which makes it a sort of safe haven for humans and synths that want to avoid the radiation.

The fog on Far Harbor is deadly to all living things that haven’t mutated, which is one of the reasons why Acadia was the perfect spot to pick for a Synth safehouse.

3 Kasumi Isn’t A Synth, Despite What DiMA Told Her

It may come as a shock to learn that the girl that the Sole Survivor is sent to rescue, Kasumi, isn’t actually a synth. This plot point gets debated throughout the Far Harbor DLC; however, it is impossible to prove that she is a synth without opening up her head, which would kill her.

Unfortunately, Kasumi can’t learn that she isn’t a synth unless she dies, which means that if she stays alive, she will always have to wonder.

2 Islander’s Almanac Issue 4 Is Found On Dejen’s Counter

The Islander’s Almanac is a special type of magazine that is only found in the Far Harbor DLC, and it grants special bonuses to the Sole Survivor that are themed around Far Harbor. Islander’s Almanac Issue 4 is located behind Dejen’s counter.

This specific issue of Islander’s Almanac grants a perk that gives a 10 percent damage buff to radiation attacks, which is useful when fighting the Children Of Atom that reside on the Island.

1 Acadia Is Located On Top Of Cadillac Mountain

Cadillac Mountain is a real-life landmark that is found on the Island in Maine. In Fallout 4, Acadia is located atop Cadillac mountain, and it’s surprising that Bethesda even bothered to locate Acadia on a landmark at all.

Cadillac Mountain isn’t particularly tall compared to other mountains; however, it is one of the most beautiful places in Acadia National Park. The mountain is rocky but also has some greenery around its edges.
