It’s easy to miss out on a lot of locations when playing Fallout 4. The map might not be the biggest, but with how tightly packed different areas are, players won’t always notice the small but meaningful details. Lexington is just one of those many areas that you might brush off, but it holds more content than you’d initially think.
Lexington is actually quite important as a location, since it’s most likely the first major quest with raiders the Sole Survivor will undertake. Following a call for help from settlers, they’ll be sent here to wipe out the raiders at Lexington’s famous Corvega Assembly Plant. However, there’s so much more significance and history to Lexington than just its assembly plant that was once its pride.
10 Site Of The First American Revolutionary War Battle
Like all other places in Fallout 4, Lexington is placed on its real world version, although it’s obviously much smaller in size than the real deal. Lexington is a historically significant spot, which is evident due to a statue dedicated for the Minutemen.
In fact, Lexington was the site where the very first American Revolutionary War battle was ever fought. As such, it definitely fits the theme of Fallout 4 and the Minutemen. Most importantly, however, it fits as the location of the Sole Survivor’s very first independent quest after slaying raiders and a Deathclaw in Concord.
9 The Ghouls Drove Out Most Raiders
After the bombs dropped, Lexington became largely abandoned and destroyed like most other locations. However, that hasn’t stopped it from becoming a bit of a hotspot for raiders. For the longest time, raiders ruled over the city, and there’s still signs of it at Corvega.
However, while most of the raiders from the actual town itself have been scared off by the abundance of feral ghouls that seem to multiply and come out of nowhere, a single crew led by Jared still stands at Corvega as a beacon of power.
8 There’s A Power Armor Nearby
Lexington doesn’t have an actual power armor within the town itself, but if you’re looking to get your hands on a potential T-45 armor, head on over here as it’s the best place to head to its location. The ideal spot to start is the initial spawn point after fast traveling to Lexington.
Walk north from there, until you reach a set of railway tracks and follow them southward. There should be a cage with the power armor inside, and a terminal that can be hacked to gain access to it. Make sure you can access advanced level terminals or have someone like Nick Valentine there to help you.
7 A Behemoth May Spawn Here
Lexington will mostly be a place to fight raiders and ghouls. However, don’t be surprised if you one day wander into this sleepy and abandoned town, only to see a super mutant behemoth wandering about. It’s completely possible for one of them to spawn into the town part of Lexington.
It will patrol around the center of the town, and it can be seen somewhat easily from the top of Super Duper Mart. Harassing it from the overpass is also an option, if fighting it up close and personal just isn’t an option.
6 Jared, The Leader Of The Local Raiders
Let’s talk a bit about the raiders at Corvega, because they’re often brushed off by players despite being quite an interesting bunch. Jared, their leader, is especially fascinating once you find out from his terminals that his future as a raider boss was actually foretold to him by Mama Murphy.
Jared was so enthralled by Mama Murphy’s capabilities that he’s been desperately trying to replicate her abilities. He’s been conducting experiments on new recruits, using chems and the like as a way to lure in more people to join his gang. Talk about a new type of evil among raiders.
5 Accessing The Overpass
The overpass area running by Lexington is actually quite an expansive area and has plenty of loot worth collecting. In order to get on the overpass however, you need to leave Lexington and walk past the Corvega Assembly Plant, where the overpass slopes down towards the ground.
The second overpass that’s slightly higher needs to be accessed through a nearby tower, and similarly has quite a few cool items, including a raider wearing a power armor and a chemistry station for all your chem cooking needs.
4 Area Consists Of Multiple Fast Travel Points
Lexington isn’t just one singular area. The fast travel point of Lexington brings you to the northern side of the town, by its entrance. However, there are other locations in Lexington that will have their own unique fast travel points, including Lexington Aparments.
The Corvega Assembly Plant is also one of such areas. While they’re all unique locations they’re all still a part of Lexington’s town as a whole. It definitely makes getting to the right area much easier, though be careful when traveling to the assembly plant if it doesn’t appear as “cleared”, as you might get ambushed by raiders that have respawned.
3 Tales Of A Junktown Jerky Vendor Magazine
Collectibles are a huge part of the game. They make your character much stronger in the long run. There’s actually a bobblehead on top of the Corvega Assembly Plant, nearby the large sphere at the rooftop. It’s a Repair bobblehead, which extends fusion core duration by 10%, making it ideal for any power armor wearers.
Next, head on over to the actual town of Lexington down below, and find the Super Duper Mart. There’s a magazine here by the drugs stand inside the mart, titled Tales of a Junktown Jerky Vendor. The magazine lowers the prices vendors provide you.
2 One Of The Earliest Fat Man Locations
Remember that overpass with the raider in a power armor suit? There’s a real reason to go to this location, and it’s not just because of the power armor, which is a nice early second power armor skeleton after the one found in Concord.
This pesky raider on the upper overpass actually likes to use a Fat Man to shoot down below, which makes him incredibly deadly and difficult to deal with. However, if you can pelt him from afar or use a scoped rifle to snipe him, it’ll be well worth your time, since you can snatch his Fat Man and unleash the same fury upon your enemies.
1 Slocum’s Joe Is More Important Than You Think
Slocum’s Joe might seem like a regular old doughnut shop that has seen its better days, but it’s actually a vital location for those who participate in the Railroad and Institute faction quest lines. It’s a major location during the Tradecraft quest, which involves flushing the Institute synths from its bowels.
Before that, however, Slocum’s Joe looks completely innocent, although it is surrounded by a bunch of mines. Beware when approaching it. It also has a secret tunnel which brings you to the south side of the Drumlin Diner, making it a pretty cool and interesting location. Just another reason to join the Railroad.
