Fallout 4 has a plethora of interesting enemies and some of them were absolutely terrifying. It’s no surprise that mutants would be a scary sight to see, however, some of them are just downright weird in appearance. It’s hard to count all of the enemies in the game that are terrifying but this list will mention 10 of the scariest.

This list will go over a few of the enemies that fans wouldn’t want to encounter in real life because they would definitely get killed. From irradiated roaches to giant crabs, here are the 10 scariest mutants in Fallout 4!

10 Ghouls

Zombies have been a staple in the horror genre for as long as anybody can remember. Fallout wanted to make its own unique spin on this terrifying creature by creating an enemy that was almost exactly the same.

Because of this, the Ghoul was born and it is absolutely horrifying. Ghouls are irradiated humans that have rotting flesh and run at the player trying to kill them. Fans are glad that these mutated humans aren’t real because, if they were, there would be a lot to fear.

9 Radroaches

Everybody hates roaches but how about 3 ft long roaches. Roaches in Fallout are terrifying because they lunge at the player trying to attack them with their large bug bodies.

This mutant is somewhat unsurprising to see because roaches are known to be able to survive catastrophic events however, when players first encountered them, it was still terrifying. Perhaps one day the wastelanders will completely destroy them but that’s unlikely because roaches can survive almost anything!

8 Mutant Hound

Mutant hounds are a super mutant’s best friend and they follow them around to protect their green masters. Although most people love a cute dog nobody should be going near one of these monsters because they’re anything but adorable.

If these were real then people wouldn’t want to be taking walks alone down the street because they could get attacked by a giant mutated dog. These are absolutely horrifying and any player that doesn’t want to get bit should stay away.

7 Molerats

Moles and rats are both weird but what happens when you combine them into one creature? These enemies have been known to be one of the scariest in the series and, although they’re not the most deadly enemy, they’re still frightening to approach.

It’s worth staying away from these enemies so that players don’t get attacked and infected with their diseases. Hopefully, there will be fewer of them as time goes on but, because radiation continues to mutate creatures, that seems unlikely.

6 Mirelurks

Everyone loves a good crab but no one wants a giant crab attacking them on the beach. A nice day on the shores coast used to be a fun trip however, in Fallout 4, it is anything but nice because of these creatures.

At least if they’re killed they drop some meat that players can use to cook and eat to restore their health. It is worth putting these guys on the list because there are few more terrifying creatures than a giant crab with a hard shell.

5 Bloodbugs

These giant bugs suck the blood out of their victim’s body and are a scary sight to see for sure. Most bug-like creatures in the franchise are some of the most terrifying creatures in the games, however, these take the cake for being the scariest bug in all of Fallout 4.

They’re easy to kill so that’s the silver lining, however, they are skinny so they aren’t the easiest to hit. It’s worth taking out nests of these flying critters so that they don’t multiply in numbers and come back for the player.

4 Super Mutants

These mutants might be the most iconic mutant in the entire franchise. Their giant muscular green bodies are well known to all Fallout players and they are absolutely terrifying because they can easily snap a player’s neck.

If a player wants to fight a group of these they must have extremely high-level gear because, otherwise, they’re probably going to get killed. If these guys were real, it would make for a difficult struggle to survive on a day-to-day basis.

3 Giant Hermit Crabs

Another type of crab in Fallout 4 is the giant hermit crabs from the Far Harbor DLC and they are one of the most powerful enemies in the game. Their giant bodies can’t fit in normal shells so they instead get inside of trucks to protect their backside.

This creature is too difficult for most players to take down alone however bringing a companion can help with that problem. If these were real, the island of Far Harbor would not be as fun of a place to take a vacation to!

2 Radscorpions

Scorpions are scary because of their claws and their stinger. However, give them radiation and make them mutated and they’re an extremely powerful foe as well.

This enemy is high up on this list because there are few other enemies that can strike fear in the hearts of more players than this one. Hopefully, they start dying off soon but only time will tell because these enemies are very resilient.

1 Deathclaws

These guys are absolutely massive lizard creatures and every Fallout player knows them well. They definitely deserve the highest spot on this list because any waste lander that runs into them will immediately turn around.

Their giant bodies are durable and their extremely sharp claws can cut through anything, including a player’s body, with ease. Everybody is glad that these enemies aren’t real because it would make exploring the wild a lot harder and no one would want to go camping ever again!
