Fall Guys Season 4 is here, and with it comes the new Squads mode. This allows you and 3 friends to compete together against 14 other squads. The other key difference from the normal single-player ‘main show’ is the reward for winning. Instead of earning crowns, everyone on your squad gets 20 Crown Shards.
Crown Shards were first introduced in Season 4, so it’s no surprise if you don’t recognize them. If you aren’t sure what Crown Shards are or how to turn them into Crowns, here’s everything that you need to know about them.
How to Get Crown Shards
There are two ways to get Crown Shards in Fall Guys. The first is winning Squad battles, for which each member of your squad will get 20 shards. You can also complete daily challenges, which were also introduced in this season’s update.
Daily challenges vary in difficulty - some of them are as simple as qualifying from 5 rounds, whilst another might require you to win a squads game. Some challenges offer Fame instead of Crown Shards, so check the reward before you get carried away with hard challenges if you’re just looking for Crowns.
These challenges reset every 24 hours, so there will be a steady stream of new tasks to complete if you are desperate to save for an upcoming outfit.
How to Turn Crown Shards into Crowns
To turn your Crown Shards into a Crown, you simply need to collect a total of 60. These can be from any source, so you can get them from either Squads or daily challenges. Once you have 60, you will lose the shards and another crown will be added to your total.
If you want to see how close you are to the next Crown, you can check your shards easily. Go to the main menu and select the show selector screen. You will see your Crown Shards total right by your Kudos and Crowns in the top right corner.
Why Does Squads Not Give Crowns
Since you can work together with 3 others, winning in Squads is much easier. If you usually struggle to win the main show, or even if you’ve never won a crown, now your friends can help you to victory.
Your team earns points in Squads depending on your placements in the different survival and race rounds. For example, if your teammate comes first in a race, it will give your team a lot of points. Likewise, if someone comes last, you won’t earn many points for them passing the finish line. The teams are then ranked by their points, and those with the least are eliminated.
Of course, there are plenty of other great skins that don’t require crowns. Season 4 added an Among Us crossover skin, and there are plenty of cool outfits to buy with your Kudos.
