Mediatonic has finally lifted the curtain on Season 2 of Fall Guys, as a “world premiere sneak peek” was just shown off during Gamescom. There’s still a lot we don’t know about the update, but it looks like at the very least we’ll be getting new stages, costumes, and a whole new set of seasonal rewards.
The trailer highlighted some hilarious new costumes, including wizard robes, armor, and other middle-age inspired threads. The new stages also take a page out of the medieval playbook, with towering spires, draw bridges, and swinging axes.
Fans of the game are likely going to be pleased with all these additions. The one worry about Fall Guys was that it would quickly grow stale, due to a small pool of stages and limited replayability. But with a new season already on the horizon it seems that those worries may not come to fruition.
The one thing that wasn’t announced during Gamescom was a mobile version of Fall Guys for western audiences. Mediatonic recently struck a deal with Bilibili to create a portable adaptation of the hit game, but it’s only going to be offered in China. It quickly garnered over 90,000 preregistered and seems to be just as popular as its big screen sibling.
To say Fall Guys has been a cultural phenomenon would be an understatement. It recently became the most downloaded PlayStation Plus title of all time, has partnered with Valve to feature Half-Life costumes in-game, and continues to receive attention from massive companies such as McDonalds and Walmart. It seems that everybody wants a piece of the clumsy battle royale and Fall Guys is more than willing to oblige.
Fall Guys is now available on PC and PlayStation 4. Season 1 is slated to end on October 6, meaning a load of new content is just around the corner.
