Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout was featured during the Devolver Direct presentation Saturday afternoon, and Sony’s Shuhei Yoshida even participated in the segment, helping to confirm Fall Guys’ release date. Fans can expect to play Fall Guys for themselves starting August 4 on PC and PlayStation 4.

For those unfamiliar, Fall Guys is a “massively” multiplayer party game. It’s like a cartoony battle royale meets American Ninja Warrior. Sixty players will face off against each other in a series of exciting competitive matches, which each round eliminating a number of players before moving on to the next. At the end, there will be one player who rises above the rest.

In the new Devolver Direct broadcast, a trailer showcasing several of the new types of matches players will experience in Fall Guys were showcased. Much of what was shown is insane obstacle courses with moving platforms and swinging weights, though there were some team-based challenges, too.

While Fall Guys wasn’t the biggest game shown during the Devolver Direct, it still definitely deserved its place. Next to Shadow Warrior 3 and Serious Sam 4, Fall Guys still stands out as a unique and fun experience. And it seems that gamers will be able to get to see that for themselves in less than a month, with Fall Guys’ release date quickly approaching.

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout launches on August 4 on PC and PS4.
