Google Stadia is lacking that one big hit to help bring people to the service and turn them into paid subscribers, and one game that could do it is Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout, as it could instantly come to a multitude of devices through Stadia.
Fall Guys is currently available on PC and PlayStation 4, and a mobile version is being developed for the Chinese market, but there is currently no word regarding any other ports of the game. It’s expected that Fall Guys will receive an international mobile port, as well as versions for Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and the upcoming next generation of consoles, but developer Mediatonic has yet to reveal a time frame for when these ports could happen.
There is one platform that would be a natural fit for Fall Guys, as Stadia would be perfect for bringing the game to the masses. Google Stadia only requires a decent & stable Internet connection to run, which means that even ancient PCs could run Fall Guys without issue.
The more important factor with bringing Fall Guys to Stadia is mobile phones. It’s possible to use Stadia on a number of Android devices, which means that Fall Guys could have an active version of the game that is already built for smartphones. Fall Guys’ reach could expand further, as time goes on and the Stadia becomes compatible with more devices.
Fall Guys already requires a steady Internet connection in order to function properly, which is also the main requirement for Stadia. As such, it’s a perfect fit for the service, with gamers able to keep their progress across multiple devices and play Fall Guys wherever and whenever they want. Since launch, Stadia has lacked the game that could help bring it to the masses and really advertise the benefits it has a platform. Fall Guys could be that game, but Google will have to offer Devolver Digital and Mediatonic something big to jump to the head of the line, as a number of other big-name developers and platform holders will almost certainly be angling to get the game onto their system first.
