Fall Guys arrived in August 2020 to the delight of quarantined Playstation 4 and PC owners. During the global pandemic that left all of us miserable, Devolver Digital published a silly knockout game that gamers desperately needed in their lives (even if it didn’t wind up being the most-played game of 2020). Unfortunately for Xbox or Switch-only owners, they did not have the opportunity to lose friends playing Fall Guys like the rest of us.
Everyone can rejoice because the popular game will make its way to the other consoles this year (and it even looks like a Fortnite crossover is in the works). While it seems to defy logic that Fall Guys didn’t arrive for a year after its PC and Playstation 4 launch (especially considering that family games thrived in 2020), that doesn’t mean that we can’t enjoy the memes together. If you’ve read this much, you deserve to keep scrolling and enjoy the funniest memes that might also make you cry inside if you only own an Xbox or Switch.
10 Sad Cat Wants Attention
While Fall Guys arrived on August 4, 2020, for Steam and Playstation 4, Xbox, and Switch-only owners could only feel like the cat in this meme. The tears pooling in this kitten’s eyes reflects the pain that anyone in that category felt who wanted to play the game.
Despite the impending arrival of the game on Xbox and Switch (but the game coming to Game Pass has become a point of contention), that feels like too little attention that’s arriving way too late. You can be forgiven for feeling like this cat if you still have to wait until the middle of 2021 to enjoy the game with friends.
9 Don’t Notice The Switch Players
It’s fantastic that both the Switch and the Xbox will have the game this year (that’s also been named one of the “top brands” of the decade), but if you were in one camp or the other you wanted to avoid eye contact. The Terio at Popeye’s meme couldn’t fit better for Nintendo fans who have wanted to join the fun.
8 So Close, So Far Away
The frustrations felt like Switch and Xbox owners are directly related to the agreements made by Devolver Digital before release. One of the designers of the game stated in a podcast that they didn’t want to make the mistake of porting too fast after their monumental rise to the top of the sales charts.
That should be music to our ears after experiencing massively disappointing games like Warcraft III: Reforged or Cyberpunk 2077. Don’t sweat it out like the cartoon man in the meme because it sounds like everyone involved with Fall Guys has devoted themselves to quality before anything else.
7 Xbox Players Ready to Celebrate (Even If They Shouldn’t)
When Xbox players arrive at the Fall Guys party, it will be around one year after Steam and Playstation players first enjoyed the game. While that exciting news for fans of the Microsoft consoles, tempering their enthusiasm is called for if they get too worked up about it (especially if they need to learn how to be better players).
With that said, the marketing wizards on the Xbox team might make big hay out of the fact that Fall Guys made its way to their platform. Meanwhile, what else can Playstation or Steam players do but look on with shameful derision?
6 Xbox Fall Guys
After falling in love with Fall Guys on your chosen platform, it might feel like an imposter has invaded the Xbox when it arrives. Considering that the title has taken so long to make its way to the Microsoft console, it’s easy to feel like the bottom picture is arriving instead of the top.
The colossal success of Fall Guys appears to have shocked the development team. Recent interviews suggest that they didn’t want to port too fast and release a bad product, but that doesn’t mean Xbox owners won’t see the game’s arrival as more like the imposters in the bottom panel.
5 Watching The Fun Happening Without Xbox And Switch
Nobody wants to feel like Squidward in this popular meme, but Xbox and Switch players could only enjoy the fun from a distance since 2020. While others enjoyed ticking bumping off their friends (and making new enemies), the rest watched from their quarantines and wished they could join as well.
It’s rare that a game as popular as Fall Guys doesn’t make its way to the other major consoles right away. Unfortunately, Devolver Digital left Switch or Xbox players feeling left out of the party they invited everyone else to attend.
4 It’s Enough To Make You Cry
The lack of Fall Guys on Switch or Xbox might be enough to make even the most hard-boiled gamer depressed. When you only have the option to live vicariously through Twitch streams or YouTube videos, the sadness can overwhelm you inside.
It’s true that these are first-world problems, but we only have so much time on this planet to enjoy as many video games as possible. When you feel like a great game won’t make its way to your platform, that’s enough to make anyone want to cry.
3 Draw 25 or Release Fall Guys On Xbox?
It’s difficult not to feel like Devolver Digital would do just about anything not to release Fall Guys on Xbox. If given the choice between drawing 25 cards in Uno or giving Microsoft fans the opportunity to play, they clearly chose the former for a long time.
This meme template that became popular at the beginning of 2020 fits perfectly with the first quarter of 2021. Both Xbox and Switch are getting the game, but it took Devolver Digital long enough to run out of cards to play regardless.
2 Xbox Thumbs Up Crying Cat
It’s sad enough when you can’t play a game that you want on the console you own, but it’s even worse when you couldn’t afford to buy it anyway. At one point or another in our lives, we’ve all been this sad cat giving a brave thumbs up regardless.
While Fall Guys is scheduled to (finally) arrive on the Xbox by the middle of 2021, that doesn’t mean that everyone will have a burning desire to own it. The delays mean that the game will arrive long after its hype reached peak levels.
1 Distracted Boyfriend Meme: Fall Guys Style
Nothing works better for this situation than the distracted boyfriend meme, but turning everyone into Fall Guys characters is priceless. Devolver Digital definitely left Xbox owners feeling like the girlfriend in this picture.
While the Switch gets left out of this version of the meme also, Nintendo fans can picture themselves here also. Considering how much attention PC and PS4 owners have enjoyed (including Doom crossover skins), it’s no wonder that hell hath no fury like a left-out gamer who loves memes.
