As we welcome the ninth season of CoD Mobile, we are treated to a ton of new content to dive into. We get the usual patch notes full of smaller changes and details, but also a new battle pass, Rank Series, Event Rewards, and even a brand new game mode. This major update will impact all modes in CoD Mobile, multiplayer, battle royale, and ranked, so there’s something for all players here. If you want the breakdown of all the most important details of CoD Mobile season nine, we’ll tell you everything you need to know.

Season nine, also called Conquest, goes live August 16th at 5 pm PST or 8 pm EST. It should be noted that not everything in the update will be available as soon as it launches, such as the new game mode.

The Gunsmith System

The Gunsmith system is a major update to CoD Mobile that should please fans of the series. There will be more than 100 attachments for players to earn and equip on their favorite weapons, both cosmetic and functional, to personalize your loadout. Every gun will have up to nine slots to equip attachments and gun perks into. You will gradually unlock these attachments by leveling up your weapon.

Legendary and Epic tier weapons have been reworked into a blueprint system, where they now appear with unique cosmetics and attachments already equipped. Rare and Uncommon weapons have become camo designs you can apply to base weapons.

A major time save to this system is that the level of your highest weapon will be applied to all other weapons you have unlocked. That means you won’t have to grind each weapon you find to be able to take advantage of the new Gunsmith system.

If that all seems too complex, they have also introduced recommended blueprints that show you how stats change as you modify them in real-time.

Rank Series 6 Rewards

The new ranked series will kick off this month and run until October, offering three brand new seasonal rewards to earn. All three are epic tier, starting with the blueprint: QQ9 - Eye Candy, soldier: Tengu - Undead Crusade, and frame: Bomber Frame.

New Battle Pass Rewards

The new battle pass starts as soon as the update goes live, again offering a premium and free version with unique rewards for each.

The free battle pass offers an all-new Marksman Rifle, the Kilo Bolt-Action. This is a highly deadly rifle that has the power to kill an enemy in a single shot. The second reward is a new Scorestreak called Shield Turret. This allows you to drop an armored turret you can take control of to mow down your enemies.

The premium pass has a couple more rewards to unlock, starting with two new epic soldiers, Reznov, Nikto - Stronghold, Richtofen, and Lev Kravchenko - Soviet Dragon. The new epic blueprints are for Chopper - Fortress, Kilo Bolt-Action - Lazarus, and QQ9 - Trendsetter, Striker - Aeronaut. There’s one new legendary calling card titled Take Cover, as well as new “Battle Dressed” items.

New Event Rewards

With a new season comes new challenges to complete for brand new rewards. Thermite is a new lethal equipment you can unlock that will adhere to any surface and begin to burn for a set amount of time. You can also get the new soldier Nikolai Belinski, and epic blueprints MSMC - Rossie, ICR-1 - Retro Nuclear. Finally, there’s one new perk: Amped. This will speed up the time it takes to change primary weapons, as well as your reload speed for launchers.

Multiplayer

This is where the big one comes in, a new 10v10 mode is on the way for team deathmatch and domination on Shipment, takeoff, Meltdown, and Crossfire. Shipment is also new to CoD Mobile but should be a familiar place for fans of the series. Aside from the new 10v10 mode, Shipment will also come to team deathmatch, domination, free for all, hardpoint, gunfight, ultra rapid-fire, 1v1, and kill confirmed game modes.

A few other changes to multiplayer include a new challenge and movable targets in training mode, capture progress pausing during domination when no players are in the objective, the maps Tunisia and Meltdown being removed from domination for normal and ranked modes respectively, and the next objective in hardpoint being shown on the map beforehand.

Battle Royale

Aside from all the Gunsmith features applying to battle royale, there are some more new features to look forward to in this mode. A new airdrop allows up to four players to pick a customized loadout from an airdrop, limited to one weapon per player. Four new areas were teased, named Radar Base, Dormitory, Outpost, and Camp, and new weapons from all rarity levels were added to the map.

You can also find over ten new weapon mods to alter your weapons, which can be dropped or swapped as you find new mods and guns. Finally, there are armor plates you can use to repair 50% of your armor’s health, and ammo types will now apply to their respective weapon classes.

Tweaks And Adjustments

There are a ton of minor optimizations, buffs, nerfs, bug fixes, and more also hitting the game with season nine. If you want to really dive in and see all the specifics, you can check them all out for yourself.
