19 Patriarch Gondawara

Patriarch Gondawara can be obtained through the side quest, Baby Don’t Cry. His attack just lowers the enemy’s attack and defense. The quest itself is worth looking into because of how ridiculously funny it is but the summon isn’t top tier.

18 Megumi

Megumi must be obtained through two side quests. The first is An Act of Kindness which involves Ichiban helping a little girl get donations for her family. It’s a sweet quest that gets sweeter in the sequel quest. Anyway, Megumi can make enemies give the players more money which is handy but also not that big of a boost.

17 Gary Buster Holmes

Gary Buster Holmes can be obtained through the aforementioned side quest, A Trip to Pound Town. His attack hits all enemies. As the first summon one gets, it’s good for this point in Yakuza: Like A Dragon, but mostly forgettable the further one gets.

16 Tosanoyama

Tosanoyama can be obtained through the side quest, Persimmon Premonition. His attack hits all enemies and lowers their accuracy.

The quest itself involves protecting a persimmon so that a young girl may live and Tosanoyama is one of the roadblocks. It is pretty funny as well.

15 Nancy-Chan

Nancy-Chan can be obtained through the side quest, The Crawfish Caper. Its attack hits all enemies and can poison them. This quest in Yakuza: Like A Dragon has Ichiban saving a pet crawfish from becoming food. From food to devastating warrior, Nancy-Chan rules.

14 Robson

Robson can be obtained through finding nine lost cats for the Part-Time Hero leader, Hiro. Its attack hits all enemies and may also charm them. Robson is actually the tenth cat Ichiban has to find. It’s a tedious search quest, but an adorable cat is a good reward.

13 Jiei-san

Jiei-san can be obtained through the side quest, The Masked Murderer. His attack can hit all enemies and may cause fear. He is basically Jason from the Friday the 13th movies, but more misunderstood as a literal butcher to be.

12 Taka The Striker

Taka the Striker can be obtained through the side quest, Bros Till the End. His attack hits all enemies and may burn them too via his sick motorcycle skills. This quest is a good throwback to 80s anime with plenty of street toughs.

11 Il Yu-Jin

Il Yu-Jin can be obtained through the side quest, Fading Star. His attack hits all enemies with ice and can have them catch a cold too. This is especially useful since there are not that many ice based attacks in Yakuza: Like A Dragon and there are a lot of enemies weak to it.

10 Chau Ka Long

Chau Ka Long can be obtained through the side quest, Whispers of the Underworld. It involves getting into the game’s gambling, which is one of Yakuza: Like A Dragon’s weaker mini games. Anyway, his attack is pretty strong and attacks all enemies and may cause bleeding. Some believe he is the same character from the first game, Lau Ka Long, but in disguise.

9 Ono Michio

Ono Michio can be obtained through two side quests. The first is The Michio Minefield which involves Ichiban searching for fake statues. The second has him actually confronting the bootleggers. Anyway, Ono Michio‘s ability boosts the party’s attack and defense which is a rare combo for in battle.

8 Kiyoe Shirakawa

Kiyoe Shirakawa can be obtained through the side quest, A Love Worth Fighting For. She can heal the party’s MP partially, which like Ono Michio, is a rare ability. Her quest in Yakuza: Like A Dragon involves getting a homeless man straightened up to take her on a date, which is rather sweet.

7 Omelette

Omelette can be obtained through the mini game that is basically a management simulator. It’s mandatory, but the more one plays, the better the rewards get including an amazing finale for Ichiban, tons of cash, and an optional party member, Eri. Omelette heals the party’s HP and MP partially.

6 Mr. Masochist

Mr. Masochist can be obtained through the side quest, Fifty Shades of Play. His ability can temporally make the party almost invulnerable. This side quest is great because Mr. Masochist himself is invulnerable to pain until he meets the dominatrix Yumiko. It’s a long story.

5 Masaru Watase

Masaru Watase can be obtained by collecting fifty Tojo Crests around the city and exchanging them with Kamulop. It is located at the Hotel Grande Blu Marino, which is by Hamakita Park. His attack hits one enemy for an extreme amount of damage and costs a million yen so best to use him wisely.

4 Daigo Dojima

Daigo Dojima can also be obtained through collecting fifty Tojo Crests. His attack hits all enemies and also costs a million to call. The two of them should have been combined since they share the same fate in the story of Yakuza: Like A Dragon. Also, collecting this many Tojo Crests can take awhile.

3 Taiga Saejima

Taiga Saejima is a reward given to the party after they defeat him and Goro.

His attack hits all enemies and lowers their defense, both in a grand manor. Like the previous two, he costs a million to summon.

2 Goro Majima

Goro Majima is also obtained after this fight. His attack hits all enemies with a barrage of knifes and may paralyze foes. His price is costly too, but getting to summon Goro Majima into battle is like a dream come true for longtime fans of Yakuza.

1 Kazuma Kiryu

The ultimate summon and fan favorite is no doubt Kazuma Kiryu. Like the other two, he is also obtained after a boss fight and costs a million yen as well. His attack hits all enemies and may even cause instance death which is sort of like how Odin reacts as a Summon in the Final Fantasy series.
