The latest State of Play showcased just over 16 minutes of gameplay from the upcoming Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. Alongside showing off new planets and the mysterious new female Lombax Rivet, it also presented the game’s weapons vendor, as well as some of the weapons that Ratchet and Rivet will be able to use during their dimension-hopping adventure.

Ms. Zurkon returns from Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus, and acts as Rift Apart’s weapon vendor. Players will be able to buy and upgrade all of the game’s various guns from her, including brand new weapons — such as the Shatterbomb and Burst Pistol. Here are all the weapons confirmed for Rift Apart so far.

8 Topiary Sprinkler

The Topiary Sprinkler is one of the new weapons in Rift Apart and is similar to turret weapons seen before in other Ratchet & Clank games. The gameplay from the State of Play showed how it sprays enemies with ‘rapid growth plant fertilizer,’ which makes plants grow on enemies and leads to them being unable to move.

When enemies are stuck in place, they can easily be disposed of using other weapons such as the Burst Pistol. It definitely appears that the Topiary Sprinkler will be a good choice for facing large groups of enemies.

7 Shatterbomb

Fans of older Ratchet & Clank games will instantly recognize the Shatterbomb as being very similar to the Fusion Grenade seen in titles such as Tools of Destruction. It appears to be Rift Apart’s version of the grenade launcher seen in most Ratchet & Clank games, dealing high levels of explosive damage to any enemies in range.

Insomniac Games has said that haptic feedback will be used to feel the ripples of energy whenever a grenade from the Shatterbomb is fired, making it sound like it might be one of the most satisfying weapons to use in the whole game.

6 Burst Pistol

The Burst Pistol was the main weapon seen in the State of Play, and it has multiple firing modes which all depend on how players use the Dualsense triggers. Pushing the trigger down to the halfway point will release less powerful, but more accurate shots, but pushing it all the way fires more shots at once with less accuracy.

It’s a great way to implement the adaptive triggers, and it’s certainly a novel way to add a little more strategy to fights.

5 The Enforcer

The Enforcer is another weapon in Rift Apart that uses the adaptive triggers on the Dualsense to provide players with multiple ways to take on enemies. It acts like a double-barrel shotgun — a full trigger press releases both barrels, and pressing it halfway will just shoot one barrel instead.

It doesn’t appear to have great range, but getting close enough to enemies should allow The Enforcer’s high damage to make easy work of them.

4 Omniwrench / Hammer

Ratchet’s Omniwrench returns in Rift Apart, acting as his main melee weapon as it has done in all his outings. Rivet isn’t missing out either though, wielding a rather neat-looking hammer. It’s safe to assume that both melee weapons will operate in fairly similar ways. But considering how Ratchet often uses his wrench to solve puzzles, perhaps we’ll see the same with Rivet’s hammer.

Either way, if destroying boxes with Rivet’s hammer is as satisfying as it is with the Omniwrench then it’ll be a great addition regardless.

3 Ricochet

Not much is known yet about the Ricochet. Even in the State of Play, it was labeled as ‘Coming Soon.’ For now, all we have is a description of it, with it apparently being a surefire way to make your enemies see stars.

The mentioning of stars may hint that it is a version of the Chopper seen in Going Commando, a weapon that fired shuriken-like stars which would then ricochet on surfaces before hitting an enemy. Of course, this is just speculation as right now we have no idea what exactly the Ricochet will do.

2 Mr. Fungi

If its name is anything to go by, Mr. Fungi is likely to be very similar to Mr. Zurkon from previous games such as Full Frontal Assault and Into the Nexus. When fired, Mr. Zurkon would shoot out a small attack drone that hovers around Ratchet and shoots lasers at enemies, all whilst performing jokes and one-liners like a stand-up comic.

It’s highly likely that Mr. Fungi is a variation of this, perhaps using plants in a similar vein to the Topiary Sprinkler and immobilizing enemies. Its description does say it can potentially distract enemies though, implying that there is more to this weapon than simply dealing damage.

1 Negatron Collider

The Negatron Collider is a newly revealed weapon for Rift Apart and was even showed off in action towards the tail end of the State of Play. Charging it up will shoot out a beam that can pass through and damage multiple enemies at a time.

If used properly, the Negatron Collider might be one of the best guns in the game, and it looks like a fantastic option for group fights where enemies are packed together. The long charge time should prevent it from being too powerful though, as players will have to ensure they have enough time to produce a full charge without letting Ratchet get hit.
